FOI Act questions to the Met and the Mayor of London's office about Operation Grange

I have today despatched by email these FOI Act requests to the Met Police and to the Mayor of London's Office about Operation Grange. The deadline for reply in both cases is 31 January:

Dear Metropolitan Police Service (MPS),
These questions relate to the contacts between staff of Operation Grange and the makers of the BBC Crimewatch Special on Madeleine McCann on 14 October 2013.
1. Please state (a) the date and (b) the circumstances under which the Metropolitan Police Operation Grange Team and the BBC Crimewatch team first discussed the making of the programme about Madeleine McCann transmitted on 14 October 2013
2. Please list all occasions since then, giving the dates, on which any member of Operation Grange met any member of the BBC Crimewatch Team (or anyone else from the BBC), either physically, or by video conference - and for each occasion, list the numbers of Operation Grange members who attended each meeting.
NOTE: This information will be very easy to find from DCI Andy Redwood's Policy Folder on Grange's relations with BBC Crimewatch.

You could always ask The Sun to ask the questions. It seems it costs less to answer their questions, beneath the financial limit get out clause, even if the questions asked are substantially the same!

and to think they used Maddie's fund to make mortgage repayments on their home, yet threatened Tony with bankruptcy and loss of his home.

Pretty straight forward questions.
MET may not see the significance of the questions but no reason why they cant reply to those questions.
Those to the Mayors should be forthcoming I should think within time frame.

Section 14 (1) - Vexatious or repeated requests
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act) I have decided to refuse your request as it has been deemed as a vexatious request.
Vexatious Tony. Surely not.
So they can avoid answering anything which they think might cost too much to reply to or now that ‘causes or tends to cause annoyance’.
Subjective carte blanche to not reply to anything it seems.
What was it the Grange Remit said?
‘The ‘investigative review’ will be conducted with transparency, openness and thoroughness’.
We’ve seen a lot of that up to now!

Vexatious Requests

Yet this was absolutely fine apparently. It causes annoyance to me!
‘Nearly a quarter of all UFO sightings reported to police in England and Wales last year were made in Essex, the Sun on Sunday reports.
According to a Freedom of Information request by the paper, seven out of 31 sightings were made in the county’.
Yet again ‘one rule for the Sun’ it seems, in the vain hope that there might be a 'Freddy Starr ate my Hampster' headline type of story somewhere down the line.
I wonder how many FOI requests they wack in on a daily basis.
