Hi, I have trouble at the mo posting links.

If you put in 'Kate McCann bruises 'and go on images, scroll down and there is a photo with her in a pink-ish tee-shirt where she is on her mobile.
I'm afraid that when you click on it David Ickes website comes up but never the less it is an early photo of her.

Kate did not get those bruises from smashing up beds though!

Kate's bruises

This is one of the photos but go to the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and you'll find more.

When I saw that photo for the first time my reaction was: Kate is a battered woman. Now much wiser my opinion did an 180. All just my opinion of course.

I Always thought that those bruises were caused by Gerry himself. It is very difficult causing bruises on wrists, bumping them against a wall.

My initial reaction to that photo was also that, by her downtrodden appearance, Kate could be a victim of domestic violence. Now I know how the pair of them can switch from grief-stricken to falling about laughing in the blink of an eye, it's less easy to judge whether that's likely to be true.

I tend to think that Gerry is in some way covering for Kate.

I have read somewhere that one of the OC staff( a Nanny possibly) said that M was always wanting her father, she was clingy with him, then the, crying for Daddy episode, as reported by PF.
This makes me think that Kate might be quite volatile.

For me the strongest argument is that it is impossible in the timeline they themselves gave. Look for PeterMac's posts, he has some very to the point summaries that show that.

Those imo were 'restraining bruises' , the result of being gripped around the wrists when trying to hit something or someone.
They weren't that fresh either imo. Two or three days old?

One wonders whether the Police questioned her about them ?  And what would be her explanation for them ?

In her bewk, she came up with excuses saying she punched the wall, lashed out at furniture, etc.
No doubt she likes to give the mpression her blood was boiling at finding Madeleine gone.
When in fact, she achieved in manifesting the aggressive side of her nature if her account is to be believed.

I think she had been restrained by Gerry, which begs the question - stopping her from doing what ?

Can he explain how it can have happened within the one minute and 20 seconds ?

If he believes it, then he has to. That is the Mccanns' timing, not ours.

Several days old by the look and not just around the wrists.  There is a large single bruise on the left arm just below the sleeve edge and what appears to be 2 sets below, one underneath the other in a pattern which looks like someone has gripped her slim upper arm from behind, leaving behind visible finger marks.  Bruising from hitting walls, furniture etc would have resulted in swelling, bruising or even cuts to the hands themselves but there seems no visible injury there.

I agree. And I really can't see where she'd get bruises on her upper arms from hitting at walls or furniture. Was she elbowing the walls or something? It's weird.

There's quite a lot about 'fury' in the book. .( perhaps someone can count them) there's an incident of a flowerpot through a cr window at Rothley. Although allegedly done by another person. There's the broken beds to prove how  upset she was on h 3rd and there's imo the fact that she was catatonic in the early days. Imo not without some medication. Strangely we don't hear about sleeping pills which would be almost standard prescription in the circumstances. I would certainly have needed them in such a situation.

In the light of Blacksmith's  recent article it does point to unstable behaviour.
In a way I'm sorry for Kate. She probably can't help being a narcissist -if she'd married a man who adored her and had plenty of money, she'd have been perfectly happy. Instead she married someone obsessed with control and social status.

Their various interactions must be of interest to psychiatrists.

One scenario I have had in mind is : if you leave a with b in a situation x it's almost certain that y will happen.
Also known as 'making it happen on purpose'.

Will SY be working on parallel theories similar to Maddie is alive /sadly not.......

the man JT saw was the abductor /was not:  the latter widening the timeframe for a snatch ?

Interesting as no man came forward to claim it was him  [ media- shy maybe , but given the seriousness of what happened I would be surprised at his remaining silent].
More interesting, despite the timeline being impossibly narrow if JT saw the abductor , Kate, 4 YEARS LATER, is clear as day that she believes it was indeed the abductor seen by JT.

She also had a scab over her right eyebrow. I know there are better photos, but this one is the only one that I can find at the moment:

Priceless !

O/T
And, how many instances she or her family members got off their bum to physically search ?

Once, IIRC.Jumping over hedges, looking into bins and ditches for about an hour.

I just find it strange that they search (did they) at a time of the day when the panic was over, when there was no human traffic or activity ?  Did they expect to find a corpse by then  ? I mean which sane being looks into bins and ditches for a living child ?
Surely by then the egg-man would have been over the hill even on foot?

Again, the only search they did (or so they claimed)  is another one of their wtf moments that makes no sense.  Just like her attempted explanation on how she acquired the bruises.  I mean how can one end up with bruised wrist kicking furniture!
