Steel Magnolia - despondent after phone call to SY Empty Steel Magnolia - despondent after phone call to SY

Post by Woofer 12.10.13 19:02

Some time before she died, Steel Magnolia said she phoned SY and spoke to an officer about the case. After they had spoken she talked about us all giving up there and then.  AFAIK she never declared what it was she found out.

Does anyone know what it was she found out?

I was going to put this on the Operation Grange thread but thought it might get lost.

I 'phoned Operation Grange in the early days. I also sent them two lengthy, sourced documents of evidence in 2011, one of them quite a fat bundle which I delivered to Grange at Belgravia Police Station, London along with a fellow member of The Madeleine Foundation.

The McCanns said on the record in the contempt of court proceedings against me that they had no issue whatsoever with my writing to DCI Redwood, the Home Secretary, the Ministry of Justice, the Prime Minister etc. That was reiterated in the contempt trial. Their objection was to making any of this evidence public.

I cannot say anything about the content of those two dossiers because if I did, I risk the High Court immediately despatching me to Pentonville Prison (all contemnors are despatched there) for three months.

I would not have expected Redwood and his men (I met with DI Tim Dobson and another at Belgravia) to disclose any of their thinking on the case to anyone outside their team. I dodn't suppose they did so to SteelMagnolia (Dani) either. But what I can say is that the manner in which they dealt with me on the 'phone and in person left me concluding that they had already decided exactly what their investigation was about.

Nothing since has changed my first impression.

Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"

Amelie McCann (aged 2): "Maddie's jammies!".

For what it's worth, I know there is a split in the camp re. Birch's claims, however, in an email to Chris Spivey, he noted the following :-

  1. The extent of Scotland Yard’s interest in my findings was a 1 line email enquiring how I removed the scans off the machine, despite communicating with me for months prior to my findings being revealed.

Could be along a similar line?

Thanks Tony - so it could be that Dani had the same reaction (and Stephen Birch by the sound of it).

No wonder Dani felt as if we`re all beating our heads against a brick wall.

@TonyBennett  So the McCanns main objection was that they didn't want any evidence made public?!?!

That is 'suspicious' in itself IMO!

I wonder what their 'reasoning' for that was?

Considering that 'evidence' is crucial to help in the search for their daughter Madeleine!
