Madeleine's middle finger is much longer than her index finger. That is not seen on the plate.

Even her ring finger is longer than her index finger, also unlike the plate.

this must be a first. Please send it to SY. Incidentally, the relative length of fingers is supposed to denote levels of testosterone.

If I had a colour printer, or they accepted emails, I would. But it's not very good on my old b&w printer sadly.

I would just like to know why the McCann's put Susan Healey through this.

A poster on 3a's first spotted this and unfortunately I cannot remember their name from 2 years ago. All credit goes to them whoever you are. I found it again when looking for something else.

I've already sent some stuff to the Met. The more people that do the better, so if anyone has a colour printer out there, go for it.

I´m not sure!

This is a 2-D picture and there is a possibility that the index finger is bent inwards towards the palm or also that one of her fingers slid forwards on the print that was made for her Grandparents, but what irritates me is the date on the print i.e. 2007, I don´t know how it is in the UK( been away many moons) but here in Germany these prints are normally done at birth for the parents

I had to think about that one for a bit Invinoveritas. But if you look at the length of the tip of the index finger, down to the first crease, it is virtually the same length as the middle finger, which must mean the whole of the finger is in view. If it had been curved as you are suggesting, causing distortion, it would be significantly shorter, but it's not.

I think it's her full finger length that we are seeing in that picture.

Can anyone put up any more pics showing her hands. I'm thinking of the one where she is eating an ice cream - also any more that could show hand detail.

Thanks Stella, doesn't show too much. But the hand that is holding the ice cream is not Madeleines surely.

It's like this one also Candyfloss. You can see the fingertips on both the other children, but not Madeleine. It is impossible to hold an ice cream like that and not drop it.

I've tried enlarging it, can't make out what it is though. The bottom of the cone is missing, but it may be that it has been bitten off, a friend of mine used to do that, then suck the ice-cream from the bottom. big grin

the blob could be a tissue but between the cone and the "tissue" there is a rather thick white line which suggests a bit of hanky-panky

Spot the difference Empty Ice cream memories

Post by Guest 12.08.11 17:34

So I wasn't the only one who used to suck the ice cream through to the bottom of the cone! I agree that it's weird the way the cone is being held (or not held); the object underneath looks to me as if it could be heart shaped so maybe it's some sort of knick-knack?

Spot the difference Empty It's not impossible after all!

Post by Guest 13.08.11 10:34

I have just tried holding objects (a bottle and an aerosol can in the absence of an ice cream cone) and it is perfectly possible with the fingers at the front as in the photo and the thumbs at the back to support it.

Anyone would be able to using something that large. You should try using something that is much narrower and not straight for a start.

There are lots of things adults can do with their hands, that 3 year olds cannot.

Spot the difference Empty Hanky panky with the hanky

Post by tigger 13.08.11 13:17

If the white blob is a scrunched tissue, it's about to fall or has to be kept there by pressure. The thick white line has not business being there, it should be the grey of her top. The more you blow it up, the more it seems as if the cone is floating with a bit of space between her nose , which is where it would land if she tried to lick it. I think she was holding something else in her hands altogether. Something that makes the gesture natural. So is this shopped in again? The other two seem quite normal - this may be one of the better efforts. I'll have to check when that surfaced in the Donegal Times I think?

apologies for this request, but I still have not managed to master the art of posting photographs.
The ears are the giveaway feature of a person's face and I do not remember seeing many if any photos showing Maddie's ears. It would be interesting to see some if anyone here can post them, thank you
