Anyone, not knowing this case, would think this is a picture of celebrities enjoying their new found fame and honouring the press with a short lap around the town. Even put her earrings in.

Don't forget the Madeleine badge with the baby photo (little resemblance if any to her as she was in May 2007) that Kate has on her skirt!

This looks like a still from the clip where they're walking along swinging their arms, looking as if they haven't a care in the world.

Has anyone here - while in the grips of possibly the worst crisis ever in their life - held hands with a partner and walked along in this manner?

That's exactly what they were though, - new celebrities - isn't it woofer? (Or at least, what they'd like to think)

It's just unbelievable, looking back at old photos like this.
7 years on and they (sometimes) actually look like they'd have been expected to look like back then.
Hardly tallies with the 'cold icy fear' mentioned in KH1, or the diary entries does it? nah

They definitely enjoyed the media attention and all the freebies from their celebrity friends. They look so happy and carefree not what you would expect from parents of an "abducted"(cough, cough) child, IMHO big grin

This one I have always found disturbing, they look so carefree, happy, it's unimaginable that any parents could be this way, so soon after they claimed paedophiles abducted their daughter! No matter what did happen to Maddie, she was missing, not with them, and they are positively glowing, relaxed.

Kate spruced up her wardrobe and appearance considerably after 'the abduction'. In earlier photos she looks a bit dowdy and quite poorly dressed. For instance, in the book Madeleine, there is a photo of her standing with Fiona Payne at the Payne wedding in Umbria and she is very casually dressed in what looks to be a chain-store strappy top and cheap skirt. Is is not the sort of outfit you would think that Kate would chose for a wedding in Italy.

It's another of those rather 'odd' photos as their are random objects and people in the background that could easily have been cropped out. Equally, in the photo of Kate with her old friend Michelle, Kate is quite shabbily dressed.

The same in the photo in this article where Madeleine is riding a pony. Kate looks a lot less spruce. The girl doesn't look much like other photos of Madeleine either. I wonder when this is supposed to have been taken?

Look how big "Madeleine" is in that picture.
Kate is standing beside her.
This child has long legs and a long upper body.
Imagine her standing beside Kate, and not sitting on a horse.
This is the same "tiny" Madeleine who appeared in The Last Photo...? And other photos?

Yes that is one of the few times they have shown something that looks like raw grief. It was very strange. Both at the same time too.

The other time I have seen raw natural emotion was in the very early days when Kate wore the grey T shirt. But then - it wasn't just raw grief, it was sulky, angry defiance + grief.

eta - in 7 long years thats notta lotta raw emotion

Tannerman didn't disappear until October 2013 if you mean when he was discounted on the Crimewatch programme.

It's all in the eyes. Their smiles reach their eyes each and every time, except for that photo from last year -Gerry even looked like he had been crying.

Probably not, Peter.

Kate looks positively radiant in these pictures. There are no signs of periods of tearfulness, sleeplessness or severe anxiety furrowing the brow, darkening the eyes or giving that "pinched" look that a trauma brings.

A real, genuine trauma is impossible to disguise in the face of the traumatised. They seriously look like they don't give a $h!t about their three year old daughter being raped and/or murdered. Hence we can safely deduce that their "thesis" is a load of old cobblers.

I think that I've seen moving footage of this and they were swinging their arms as they walked, the way you do when you're feeling very cheerful.

Remembering the awful times in my life, I could never have acted like that then.

Contrast that with their angry looks on 8th June when Amaral sacked his lawyer, meaning that having to go to the inconvenience of arranging for their children to be looked after was a wasted effort.
