if Madeleine could hear you now, what would you say to her?
I recently came across this old interview:

At 3:59 the interviewer asks "if Madeleine for whatever reason can hear you now, what would you say to her?"
Kate and Gerry's reactions are so revealing, IMO this is some of the most self-incriminating footage I've seen.
No parents of a genuinely missing child would react like this.
Kate felt she had to say something after Gerry was done talking and it is so forced and so unnatural.

Just watched it again. This is where Gerry grins and almost laughs when the question suggests Madeleine might still being alive.
4;00 onwards.
And Katey cannot even look at the camera to speak to her daughter.
Very revealing

The question regarding a message for Madeleine was probably not included in the rehearsal/list of questions, and it clearly took them both by surprise.
Thursday 1st May 2008 was not a good day for the McCanns. On that very same day, they also had an interview with BBC breakfast news:

The hosts were clearly not buying the gospel according to Kate and Gerry and while remaining polite and professional, they asked some uncomfortable questions.
I have a feeling that team McCann learnt a lesson from that day and from then on they only accepted interviews if they could control the questions (with the British media at least).
