It might be as well to review Brian Kennedy's actions in the Madeleine McCann case to get an idea of his recent track record:

1. Got his mate, senior Freemason Edward Smethurst, to contact the McCanns on Wednesday, 12 September 2007, and offer his help ('madeleine', Kate McCann, p. 268)

2. Bought a house in Knutsford, Cheshire, as the operational base for his investigations into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann

3. Immediately appointed the disreputable Barcelona-based detective agency, Metodo 3

4. Immediately appointed Gary Hagland, whose main expertise was money-laundering and 'financial compliance', to run his Knutsford office, providing a flat there so he could 'live in'

5. Worked closely with the boss of Metodo 3, Francisco Marco, who lied and lied again about his men knowing where Madeleine was being held

6. Appointed the corrupt ex-police inspector Antonio Giminez Raso as one of his lead invesigators, only to see him remanded in custody on 18 February 2008 and spend 4 years in jail on corruption and theft charges

7. Appointed both the mad Madeira lawyer Marcos Aragao Correia and Metodo 3 investigators to plan the search for Madeleine's bones in the Arade Dam

8. Took Smethurst with him to Portugal for a summit meeting with Murat and his lawyer on 13 November 2007

9. Appointed Kevin Halligen

10. Appointed Henri Exton, the ex-top MI5 man who produced the two controversial efits

11. Appointed Dave Edgar, the man who famously told a press conference that 'Jane Tanner might have seen a woman abductor, not a man'

12. Was involved in creating the bogus company ALPHAIG

13. Was publicly accused by an article in the Evening Standard in August 2009 of getting his men to intimidate witnesses in the Madeleine McCann case into silence.

It's an awesome record.

Rangers might soon be getting help from a truly formidable man...
