In Chapter 53 I included a few photos captured from the video newsreel of events during the mid-morning of Friday 4/5/7 in PdL.

I believed they showed Jon Clarke, Owner, Editor and Journalist of the Olive Press, in PdL that morning, with 5 other journalists in the car park close to the bottom of the stairwell leading to apartment 5G - the Payne’s apartment - where the McCanns had stayed overnight, variously staring at a candle or sleeping, whilst the rest of PdL was searching for their daughter, Madeleine.Read more:

Well whoever she is, it could be said of any number of journalists reporting across the globe.
As far as the case of Madeleine McCann's disappearance goes, on Friday 4th May 2007 no journalist knew anything but the fact that a child had disappeared.
They can't be faulted at that stage.

His book gives two incompatible "versions of the truth" within a few pages
1– Driving for 4 hours thinking she might be found before he even got there
2– A "MEATY CASE" which was going to pay handsomely for weeks/months/years
Did this girl know it was a Meaty case, or just a missing girl who might be found whilst she was hanging around.
What did she eventually report, and in what journal ?
We know that Len Port lives 20 minutes up the coast, heard it on the early morning radio, and decided to trundle along to see if there was a story to be had.
which is why he was there at least by 0830.

I don't know who the woman is but I'm sure that is not Jon Clarke.
The unknown man in the photo has a receeding hairline, swept to the side.
Clarkes hair is parted at the front and straggly, the photo's I've seen of Clarke doesn't show he has a receeding hairline or swept to one side.
The profile looks different too.

I have to admit I thought that too about the receding hairline - and did mention that to PeterMac a couple of days ago. But then JC does part his hair in the middle too, maybe to hide that hairline.
And with his money he could have had a hairline reconstruction
It's a pity we haven't got another side-on pic of his face.
There's also this paragraph from Peter's chapter to consider:

I agree, I don't think it looks like Clarke. The image is very fuzzy.

The picture of JC taken describing "the trench" 4th and 5th May show him with long staggly hair, in the picture of the man with the policeman the hair is totally different.
In the total absence of any clear photo's taken of JC, around 5a or the McCann's, we only have JCs word for being where he say's he was on 4th May.
The only thing to go off, is his dated and timed reports to the newspapers he was reporting for.

He was describing the trench in the Netflix doc 2018.

You've also got to bear in mind that he was married (until recently it would seem) to a very attractive woman - and she may have encouraged him to, shall we say, make himself a bit more ahem attractive.
Which clearly didn't work because now he lists on his farcebewk page that he hasn't got any family members except his children...and goodness knows where they might live

there is also a picture here from his own paper once upon a time, at least our very dear jon has the exact same taste in footwear and sloppy sweaters i do think.

but really if the one in the getty video's is not our dear jon, does it mean there are two of them walking the earth. it would be a sound explanation of his mixing up on arrival times, must be hard to always keep an eye on your own clone.
