Calling her the Aussie Madeleine McCann and showing photo's of Christian Brueckner is outrageous.
What has "top cop" Jim Gamble and Graham Hill got to do with anything, apart from being involved in the disappearance of Madeleine, it's not as if they solved the mystery.
You know they won't find her alive and well.

The press have to continue a story after 3 days. In all reality any press fodder after 3 days is a journalist trying their best, embellishing or going down a rabbit hole until anything new comes to light. Almost no journalists are immediate investigative reporters. What has not been said is more important that what has been said if 3 days more than the disappearance.

FAMILIAR FACE Madeleine McCann top cop says Cleo Smith ‘may have KNOWN her abductor who may have stalked family for days’

   Henry Holloway

   13:33, 22 Oct 2021Updated: 13:59, 22 Oct 2021

MADELEINE McCann top cop Jim Gamble has said missing Cleo Smith likely would have known her abductor who may be someone who was following the family ahead of their trip.

Mr Gamble - who was the senior child protection officer in the UK investigation into the Maddie case - explained the chance of the girl being taken away silently by a total stranger in the middle of the night was low.

Australian cops are now treating the case as an abduction after the four-year-old vanished from the family tent in the Outback last Saturday.

Her mum Ellie last saw her at 1.30am when she gave her a drink of water, and then her and her partner Jake Gliddon awoke to find the tot missing - sparking a frantic search.

The police were called around three hours after she was found to be missing as the family had hoped the girl was just hiding nearby - searching the area with other campers.

Mr Gamble told The Sun Online he fears this delay could make things difficult for cops as key evidence such as footprints or tire tracks may have been accidentally destroyed or lost during the initial search.

And he explained the police will be being looking "backwards and forwards" to piece together what happened before the disappearance that may lead them to the potential abductor.

He suggested that if Cleo has been taken - it is unlikely it was by somebody who she hadn't met her before.

The top cop also added the "pivotal point" of the case was the fact her sleeping bag was missing from the campsite.

He explained you would expect the bag to be left in the tent if little Cleo had wandered off alone.

"On a campsite you can hear a pin drop in the middle of the night," Mr Gamble told The Sun Online.

"If you drag out a child - even if they have their sleeping bag over their head - the child will begin to scream.

"To get the child out of the tent without drawing any attention is a really difficult thing to do."

He explained: "If it is someone they know - and potentially trust - a child would be much more compliant.

"If a child is shocked out of their sleep by movement by someone they don't know they are much more likely to cry out - no question."

However, he added it may also be possible Cleo may have been taken in her sleep while wrapped up in her sleeping bag almost as a "sack" to restrain her.

Cleo Smith: Search for 'Aussie Madeleine McCann' as public told to check bins for missing girl, 4 - Page 3 Scre1939

But being able to do this without any disturbance with her parents in the tent's other compartment would be "highly unusual".

Mr Gamble, who is now the CEO of the INEQE Safeguarding Group, told The Sun Online cops will be looking into anyone who may have taken an interest in Cleo in the weeks leading up to her disappearance.

It is possible someone may have "engaged" with the girl and plotted the abduction, potentially following the family to the remote campsite.

He said: "[Police] will be looking at unusual activity leading up to the holiday involving the child.

"They will be considering anyone who had been reportedly behaving strangely with the child and anyone who tried to engage with her.

"They will be looking at the possibility of someone who took an interest in the child which led them to follow them and potentially abduct the child."

But the top cop explained the first part of the investigation for the police will be the matter of "clearing the ground beneath their feet".

Cops will be seeking to rule out those close to the child or close to the scene before looking at potential suspects.

WA Police have already said everyone on the campground is being treated as a "person of interest".

And cops are also probing up to 20 sex offenders who are known to be in the area.

Mr Gamble added police are also likely looking into if there is a history of theft from tents in the area, which could suggest an opportunistic snatch in a "moment of panic".

However, he added the campsite is a "long way to go to steal from a tent".

Mr Gamble said key evidence could be held in holiday photos taken by the family or other people on the site - which he described as "establishing digital collateral".

"Sometimes they can inadvertently capture a clue in the background," he said.

And these could help create a "photographic timeline", verify everyone is where they said they were, and look for any suspicious individuals or vehicles.

And mobile phone data will be being scoured in the hunt as they look for anyone who may have entered the area and possibly made late night phone calls.

Cleo's abduction as her parents slept is now the leading line of inquiry for Aussie cops - and one officer yesterday chillingly said they are looking for a "body".

Mr Gamble believes it is "highly unlikely" that a four-year-old would simply roll up her sleeping bag and wander off alone.

"On the best day with a fair wind, a child of that age can probably walk around 4km (2.5 miles) - any parent or grandparent knows there comes a point where a child will not walk any further," he told The Sun Online.

"And the terrain there is pretty rugged to say the least."

Police will therefore be searching a 4km bubble around the campsite and attempting to rule out any natural threats such as animals, like snakes and dingoes.

And if you work on the assumption Cleo is simply "missing" rather than "abducted" - Mr Gamble fears the "critical" point as to how long the girl could survive in the wild alone is almost passed.

'AUSSIE MADDIE'

"Statistically, the likelihood of a positive result diminishes every hour - and that is not to say some children do not get lost or abducted and then turn up again," he said.

“But when you get to the sixth day, we are at a pretty critical point - surviving beyond that point becomes very difficult.

“And beyond that, if you have been abducted then it's down to the intention of the abductor if you have been harmed.

“But you never want to remove hope, hope is what keeps everybody going.”

He advised parents concerned about their very young children to potentially use devices like Apple AirTags sewn into their clothes to keep track of them.

The case has shocked Australia, being dubbed the "Aussie Maddie" due to the similarities to the famous 2007 case where the four-year-old Brit vanished while on holiday with her parents in Praia Da Luz.

And a $1million reward is now being offered for any information on the girl's whereabouts as cops fear she now could be anywhere in Australia.

Four key clues

POLICE searching for missing Cleo Smith are faced with four crucial lines of enquiry that suggest she may have been snatched.

Missing sleeping bag: Not only was there no sign of Cleo when her parents woke, but her red and black sleeping bag was also gone. Experts question whether she would have taken it with her if she had simply wandered off on her own.

Police released a photo of a similar bag, along with Cleo's distinctive pink pyjamas. They urged local residents to check their bins in case evidence had been dumped inside.

Tent zip "too high": The door flap on the family tent was had been zipped so high it would have been impossible for a four-year-old to reach, said Inspector Jon Munday.

He added: “The positioning of that zipper for the flap is one of the circumstances that has caused us to have grave concerns for Cleo’s safety. That tent has been thoroughly examined by our forensic team.”

"Screeching car tyres": Deputy Police Commissioner Darryl Gaunt confirmed cops were looking into a camper’s report of a car heard screeching about 3am - 90 minutes after Cleo's mum last saw her in the tent.

“It’s a little bit unsubstantiated but we’re not ruling it out,” he said, adding it was just one of several reports from people who noticed odd activities and noises overnight.

Usual suspects: Police said between ten and 20 sex offenders were known to be in the area around the Blowholes campsite, near Carnarvon, Western Australia. Detectives said they have spoken to them all to check their movements, and none are suspects at this stage.

They also conceded said any kidnapper could have left the area before police set up roadblocks.

Deputy police commissioner Col Blanch said: "Cleo disappeared from her family's tent, despite an extensive land, sea and air search, we have not yet located her body."

"The law enforcement chief said that if the little girl had left her tent by herself then she would have been found by now."

"That leads us to believe she was taken," Blanch added.

He later said police are keeping an open mind and would not comment further on whether it was likely the girl has been "buried in the area".

Detective Superintendent Rod Wilde said police "hold great fears for her safety".

He added: "The information we have received, we have not been able to locate her, we imagine we would locate her given the amount of resources and the detailed search that is taking place, that leads us to believe that she was taken from [the campsite]."

The family's camp where Cleo was last seen is located 47 miles from Carnarvon and 544 miles from Perth.

" Holiday photos " again Jim ? What happened to the ones you asked be sent to you 14 years ago , never been seen have they ?

Why are all the cops who were " involved " in the McCann case referred to as " top cops"? Apart from Amaral of course !

Cleo is NOT the " Aussie Maddie " she's a little girl in her own right who deserves that dignity . Stop dragging Madeleine into every missing child case , makes headlines though doesn't it and that's all you care about !

I was thinking exactly the same about Jim Russian Roulette and his obsession with photographs, like who's lurking!

Things have been said about the 'Last Photograph' having been tampered in order to mislead by a family member, he of deviant art and quick sands notoriety.

There is of course a distinct possibility that the CEOP were involved, maybe a slip of the finger when fiddling with photographic evidence.

And then there is family friend, Jon Corner (another one who's dropped the h), who for some strange reason, possessed a portfolio of Madeleine images.

I digress!

I'd like to see photo's of the tent, whoever took Cleo, unzipped the compartment she was in and zipped it up again after removing her.

According to her Mother, quoted in the Daily Mail,
"Ms Smith's voice faltered as she relayed the moment she unzipped the tent to discover her four-year-old was missing.

If you watch the video footage again there is no meaning, no feeling, no expression, no emotion - the woman can't even feign distress.

She talks roughly about the lay-out of the tent, there was a divider, Cleo was sleeping where the zipper tent entrance was.

So many parallels with Kate McCann's version of events and her use of language, I'll wager the mother has been watching the case very carefully in preparation of her debut before the camera.

This case stinks.

WA Police forensics officers gathering evidence of possible scoping at Cleo Smith's family home in Carnarvon

By Keane Bourke

Posted 9h ago
9 hours ago - updated 2h ago

A week after four-year-old Cleo Smith disappeared, police have turned their attention to her family's home.

Key points:

Forensics officers have been dusting windows for prints and inspecting a fence
It is understood officers are only gathering evidence outside the home
The ABC understands police are investigating the possibility of a break-in

A forensic squad has been dusting the fence and windows of the Carnarvon home on Saturday morning.

Officers have also been taking photos of sections of the fence.

A police source has told the ABC that officers were only gathering evidence on the outside of the property at this stage.

It's understood police are investigating the possibility someone had been scoping the house in the days and weeks prior to Cleo’s disappearance.

The ABC is not suggesting that Cleo's family were in any way involved in her disappearance.

Children's play equipment, and a toy hanging on a clothesline, can be seen in the yard.

The family had spent the week staying at the campsite where Cleo disappeared from, but it is understood they are now staying elsewhere.

The WA government has posted a $1 million reward for information about her disappearance.

Whole community feeling sombre

Locals in the tight-knit community of Carnarvon, about 900 kilometres north of Perth, said the mood remained sombre in the town.

Within days of Cleo going missing, posters with her image were plastered on almost every shopfront in the town.

Many shops in Perth now also display posters with pictures of Cleo.

"There's so much local concern and everyone's just jumped on board to do what they can," Carnarvon local Donna said.

"The whole community's feeling it."

John and Pam had been travelling along the WA coast and left Carnarvon only a few hours after Cleo was first reported missing.

"An hour up the road, the first fuel station, it was already posted on their fuel pumps and we saw it continually until we got to Karratha," John said.

Police on Friday issued a plea for businesses — including bakeries and children's clothing stores within 1,000 kilometres of where Cleo was last seen — to provide CCTV and dashcam footage.

The plea came as the search around the campsite ended after police on horseback and officers on drones conducted a final scan of the area.

Western Australia's Deputy Premier, Roger Cook, also encouraged people to come forward with any information they had.

"Think about what you've seen and heard, anything unusual," he said.

"The information you provide might seem trivial and not important, but it all goes to providing a picture for the police so that they can be successful in their investigations."

He said it was a difficult time for the entire community.

"Our heart goes out to Cleo's family and the whole community who are hurting today," he said.

"We just wish the very best for little Cleo."

So they were with their new baby, and Cleo, not his daughter, was in her own room?  There is a man in Cleo's life who is not her father, wouldn't you think they would want her to feel included? Perhaps I'm over sensitive.

But who would isolate a four year old child in a tent, by the entrance/exit zipper - on her own? I believe Australia is one of the deadliest places on earth in terms of dangerous crawly creepies and other wild life.

*shudder !!!*

Perhaps it's like dining in the garden whistling .

The placing of the Children in the room nearest the Access point seems to be not very smart.

If I was camping I would put myself between them and the door.

Then no-one could get in or out without climbing over me.

All these cases are somehow linked to the Madeleine case by the gutter press, Australian Maddie, German Maddie etc. etc

Why so many similarities in these cases?

Why the same notorious group of people always involved in some way?

I believe there to be strong camaraderie between secteurs of the British and Australian press.

The Australian's are never far behind the British with tales of fake abduction that could be deemed as support for the McCann faction.

Ask Meester Mitchell, he knows, he was there..

Clarence Mitchell, the man who kept the story of the disappearance of three-year-old British child Madeleine McCann in the media for eight years, opened CommsCon 2016. The former BBC reporter discusses how he worked with the McCann family, international police forces, British government and international media to keep the story of Madeleine’s disappearance in the news - and what he did to fight defamation, handle daily requests from upward of 300 journalists and manage overwhelming expectation from all angles.

The rest as they say is history!

Murdoch owns and controls a significant part of the Australian media.
Gusmaroli who wrote the wholly invented story about the waterslide [qv.  Chapters 20 & 39] published on a date to coincide with the release of the forged Pool Photo went to Australia and got a job on the Telegraph, which is a Murdoch owned red top tabloid there, not a sister to the Daily Telegraph in the UK

Cleo’s voice has been heard on CCTV at the Campsite, confirming her presence there one day before she disappeared.

Witnesses have described a Vehicle seen leaving the Site early that morning. It was seen turning South on the Carnavon road.

If the father had been involved, which is not impossible, what would he have done if he had unzipped the tent, to find not Cleo, but his ex-wife and the new partner? He would need to be sure of what he was doing. He would know the sleeping arrangements only if he had been lurking about and watching them, and he seems to have an alibi.

I don't think it was the father of Cleo who took her, more like someone acting for the father.
As you point out, the father has an alibi.
I hope it's this scenario and not a paedophile.

Cleo Smith: Search for 'Aussie Madeleine McCann' as public told to check bins for missing girl, 4 - Page 3 Empty Re: Cleo Smith: Search for 'Aussie Madeleine McCann' as public told to check bins for missing girl, 4

Where does the child live?  Is the biological father from a different country?

Ernie Allen was allegedly involved in a number of cases where the child had not really been abducted but was taken out of the country by a parent after the relationship had broken down.

I find it very odd that all the children are labelled Maddie and people like Jim Gamble are suddenly involved.  It seems to be the same crowd every time.

I agree with that - is it one of those clubs we aren't in?

No the father is in US, police interviewed him...
But I find it interesting that Mitchell is butting his nose into this case, Is he after trying his career in another country?

I'm waiting to see proper photo's of the tent, to see If it was a 2 bedroom zip up compartment each with it's own zip entrance.

I'm finding it very hard to believe Cleo's mum would let her sleep in the "living area"
