Kidnap Shannon’s mum gags The Sun

THE injunctions farce plumbed new depths yesterday as The Sun was gagged from publishing a story about evil kidnap mum Karen Matthews.

A High Court hearing in Leeds banned us on privacy grounds from printing an article which had been completely substantiated - and there were no complaints about its accuracy.

The newspaper was "commended" by the judge, Mr Justice Moylan, for acting "responsibly" by approaching authorities in advance of publication.

But although the story was in the public interest, the judge ordered a total ban.

Lawyers for Matthews, jailed in 2009 for kidnapping her daughter Shannon, urged the judge to impose the gag, even though they did not contest the truth of our proposed report.

Shannon, nine at the time, was missing for 24 days and was then found at a house belonging to Michael Donovan, an uncle of Matthews' lover Craig Meehan.

Matthews, 35, of Dewsbury, West Yorks, and Donovan faked a kidnap in a bid for a £50,000 reward.

She has six other children by various fathers and is expected to be freed next year.

I'm not surprised to hear this and I bet Carter Ruck are involved in it, in some way. Karen could not have had the money to arrange a superinjunction, so who paid for it to happen??

The last thing they needed at that time was people associating this with the McCann's.

C.) Mathews has been offering to sell ‘her story’ for a large amount of money.

D.) Mathews won a large amount of money which she’s already invested in a children’s home and a video camera.

E.) It’s much much worse so it’s none of the above.

I Paid for it, along with every other UK taxpayer. The Human Rights Act is being perverted to put money in the pockets of the pathetic Legal Proffesion.

Mathews was inspired by the Madeleine McCann disappearance for whom newspapers had offered a £1m reward for information leading to her recovery.

This won't be the last time someone 'does a McCann'. The McCanns have shown the world how to get away with ~~murder~~ neglect and possibly other crimes like asking the public to donate money to them which they used to pay their mortgage.

Unfortunately for Karen Matthews it only works for friends of Prime Ministers which is why she is rotting in jail while the McCann's have become celebrities who sit on world famous couches like Oprah's and Piers Morgan's and get paid heaps of money to peddle their lies.

At least Karen Matthews had the good manners not to smile about the 'loss' of her daughter.
