Gordon Anglesea - the paedophile ex-police chief - has died, his solicitor confirmed.
Anglesea, of Old Colwyn, Conwu, was jailed for 12 years in November after being found guilty of one charge of indecent assault against one boy and three indecent assaults against another .

He died in hospital this morning and was admitted, “some days ago”, according to his solicitor.
Paedophile former police superintendent jailed for 12 years over assaults on two young boys
The offences took place between 1982 and 1987, when both boys were aged 14 or 15 and Anglesea was an inspector with North Wales Police.
Anglesea died while the appeal process against his convictions for child sexual abuse were ongoing. He always maintained his innocence.
Anglesea was jailed on November 4, this year.
He was sentenced at Mold Crown Court to 12 years for sexually abusing boys in the 1980s.
Judge Geraint Walters said that the defendant was in a position of power over the victims – and to a young boy that power it must have seemed greater than in reality it was.

Chalk and cheese when you compare this disgusting former Police Superintendent with our very own former Police Superintendent, PeterMac, who is working for free in his retirement trying to help seek justice for Madeleine Beth McCann who was surrounded with paedophiles.

Two other threads re Anglesea and I’m sure there is more about the Bryn Estyn Children’s Home elsewhere.

It’ll be interesting to see if anything else comes out of the woodwork now.

As the appeal against his conviction will obviously now not proceed, maybe we should be calling for a review of the 2015 Macur Review, which looked into the 2000 Waterhouse review which concluded there was ‘nothing to see here.’

I wonder whether Private Eye will now expand on their Anglesea file, in print, as they have already said they will not be seeking redress for the substantial damages awarded against them back in 1994.

Hear hear Jill, I have close family and friends in the Police and Armed Forces and get sick of reading negative news stories slating them considering the majority are devoted to their profession. Police, Armed Forces, Teachers, Social workers are all targets for blame. We live in a blame society - some people can't accept that responsibility comes from within.

Gordon Anglesea's death 'ends dark era for north Wales'

The death of a former North Wales Police superintendent who sexually abused two boys will bring victims "some closure", a charity boss has said.
But Joy Dyment, north Wales director of Stepping Stones, said Gordon Anglesea's death on Thursday would also "reawaken" the abuse some suffered.
Anglesea, 79, of Old Colwyn, Conwy, died six weeks into a 12-year sentence.
Ms Dyment said it was "the end of a very dark era in north Wales' history".

Bit convenient this death isn't it?

I'd like to have seen him banged up for a few years before giving up the ghost - prison inmates don't take too kindly to paedophiles. They might have given him what he deserves - a bit of rough and tumble like he did to his victims. Victims by the way who will NOT get "some closure", the charity boss should know and acknowledge that fact or take early retirement.

Unfortunately this scum permeate every sector of society so their particular profession gets unfairly typecast.
