Good Quality Wristbands...
Another style of good quality yellow wristband I hadn't seen before :

This picture was taken in Lisbon, at the "Ask the dogs, Sandra" interview.
Same inscripted band as were given to the Bishop Ellis schoolchildren? :

Hmmm. Primary coloured silicon rubber religious jewellery being handed out at primary school...
...it seems to me so rubbishly commercial...and reminds me of this New Zealand controversy :

My opinion only.

Another school laying claim to Madeleine...?
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Hmmm. I 'd read that Madeleine was down for Bishop Ellis Catholic primary school...
...the article doesn't specify which charity the money raised had gone to, either.

I missed the article first time - speed reading at 100 words a second doesn't work - it will happen though. Unfortunately the whole Maddie thing sprang a leak early in the proceedings.
Yellow bracelets, only yellow bracelets in Rothley when Gerry first visited the end of May. So when did the green wristband join it? It was there in Morocco so I wonder when it was sold on the website. Very good marketing ploy in any case, people like to belong - even if it's as a mere supporter of the McC Clan.

This whole school thing always got to me: make the other kids aware, day after day, of the evil out there.
Not healthy.
Not healthy.

Why have them live under the shadow of someone they never even met? How are they supposed to cope with that: wouldn't they be given to feelings of inadequacy if they did not love that person enough? Did not 'remember' her often enough? If they did not collect enough money to bring her back?
Why bother these little children with all of that?

I've just been informed: The good quality wristbands were all yellow with green writing if the store photos are reliable. At the beginning of June Elf Security announced they were distributing 100,000 green & yellow wristbands to raise awareness of Madeleine's disappearance.
Not that I know who Elf Security are - can this get more complicated or good for your elf? (Sorry - old joke...)

What I can read says "protect you". Maybe they were from "missing Children" or even from the vatican!

Elf'n'safety...
Here's the earliest photograph I've found of the green and yellow bands -
- barely three weeks post disappearance of the poor child :

ERRmph! the next part of this move is the Nazi salute! Based on the Roman one. I hope we're not getting Neo Nazis into this rich mix of suspect TM promoting individuals as well..missbeetle wrote:Here's the earliest photograph I've found of the green and yellow bands -

Re: Good Quality Wristbands...
Apropos of your comment on the Gerry goes to america thread about his distributing good quality wristbands around big wigs in the US of A. I noticed during the summer (when millions of tourists descend), the wearing of assorted coloured wristbands seems to be quite a trend.tigger wrote:ERRmph! the next part of this move is the Nazi salute! Pink seems quite popular which prompted me to google the significance of colours but it seems that any colour can mean anything you like it to represent - even sexual in some circles apparently! So, unless one approaches a someone wearing a yellow/green wristband, grabs hold of the wrist and reads the embossed words, these good quality wristbands mean little or nothing - but perhaps a cheap publicity stunt.

Re: Good Quality Wristbands...
It was just the vision of Gerry 'distributing wristbands' - a group of suited men putting on their wristbands, synchronising watches and getting their instructions..

Possibly yet another case of 'THE CURSE OF THE McCANNS'.
He was dismissed by Leicester City after only four matches of the new season, as this rather doleful 6-minute audio report makes clear:

Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"
Amelie McCann (aged 2): "Maddie's jammies!".

Re: Good Quality Wristbands...
Do we know who actually produces these wristbands?
Who produced them in this case; and when
What is their minimum time of delivery?
When were they ordered?
By whom?
Just another piece of the jigsaw, you see!

Re: Good Quality Wristbands...
One of GM's heroes the disgraced lying drug taking multi Tour de France winner made use of these yellow
wrist bands to raise money for his cancer charity.
Those wrist bands were engraved with "Live strong" many people went on to alter their wristbands
to read Lie Strong.
All very fitting in this case IMO.

Re: Good Quality Wristbands...
There are tons of internet sites where you can buy that stuff. I suspect they all have overnight delivery for the right price.

Re: Good Quality Wristbands...
madeleine by KATE MCCANN
Chapter 15 - One Hundred Days (reference to Saturday 11th August 2007):
"It's hard to imagine that anything could have brought a glimmer of light into that dark evening but a remark by Bill Kenwright, the chairman of Everton FC, made the world seem slightly less awful than it had a second before. Our family were watching television when the Premiership highlights came on. Not only were many of the players wearing Madeleine T-shirts and wristbands but Bill, when asked about the pressure facing clubs and managers at the start of the new season, replied that it was nothing compared with the pressure Gerry and I were under."
Well that might just about account for a few quid out of the thousandswasted spent on the search campaign - did they play the 'national anthem' or 'land of hope and glory' or 'you'll never walk alone' in the background? I'm convinced the woman makes it up as she goes along.
