A PAL of vanished chef Claudia Lawrence fears she has been kidnapped and is being held captive in Amsterdam.

A retired private detective is convinced he spotted her in the Dutch city two weeks ago, providing a vital new lead.

Claudia’s dad Peter, 66, a solicitor, added: “She has never been to Amsterdam and I can’t understand how, if it was her, she was being allowed to wander the streets.”

Frustratingly for her family and police, the private detective does not appear to have approached the woman he spotted and is not believed to have taken her photograph. He then took another week following his return to this country to alert a friend of the Lawrence family.

Sounds like a McCann private detective to me...........

The detective certainly sounds as useful as a chocolate teapot and the story is on a level with those of "I saw Madeleine in ..........", reported after the supposed event.
