Thank you Sir Nigel Farage for making this happen! howdy

yeah but no but... there were a few.  Can see why it might not appeal to everyone.  Like any event where there are lots of people, football matches, concerts, demonstrations etc etc there can be fringe elements which many (anyone) might try to avoid.

Anecdotally, from my experience there was a "silent majority" of black and brown people who voted for brexit.

Don't know where else to put this and don't want to start another thread.

02 02 2020

This is the first time in over 900 years (since 11/11/1111) the date is palindromic no matter the date format.

It’s also the 33rd day of the year with 333 days left! Or, if you're Irish: "It's the turty turd day of the year with tree hundred and turty tree days left"

Not a palindrome, but I recall watching (with equally geeky colleagues) the time on the 6th July 1989 reach 34 minutes and 5 seconds past 12 noon = 123456789

yes

Why doesn't she go the whole hog and demand the word 'British' is removed too?

Or the word 'garter' as it's sexist.

Has anyone else noticed this ?

Labour are now reduced to saying rather pathetically that their role is  "to Hold the Government to account",
and to "Hold Boris to the promises he made . . ."   and other equivalent phrases

But surely that means they want to ensure that those promises are enacted and brought into operation.
And that they take effect.
But that in turn must mean that secretly they approve of, and perhaps even want those policies, and believe they are a good idea for the Country as a whole

Would it not be more "Opposing" to pledge to oppose and disrupt and sabotage everything he tries to do . . . ?

Shock as Merkel donates half a billion dollars in aid to Palestinian president, paying terrorists to kill Jews

At the joint press conference (Video embedded below), Chancellor Angela Merkel said: “We are now the largest bilateral donors in the Palestinian territories.” According to Germany’s Bild news, the federal government announced that in 2018 about 166.2 million euros flowed to the Palestinians. In addition, Germany transferred about 173.2 million euros to UNRWA, a UN agency for Palestinian Muslims.
Throughout her years as Chancellor, Angela Merkel gave the Palestinian Authority more than half a billion dollars, not including foreign aid to UNRWA.
The Palestinian Authority openly pays salaries to every terrorist who murdered Jews as an act of jihad.
In newly released documents, the Palestinian Authority confesses that in the first 5 months of 2019,
it paid 234,000,000 shekels (over $65 million/€58 million) in salaries to terrorists. This is a rise of over 11% compared to 2018.
In calendar year 2018, the Trump Administration has significantly cut funding for the Palestinians including $231.532 million economic assistance and $424.3 million to UNRWA (UN agency in Gaza and Ramallah).
Every civilized country must cut all its foreign aid to the Palestinian Authority, which finances terrorism.
The European Union, Canada, Australia and the UK must follow the US and cut all foreign aid to the Muslims who call themselves "Palestinians".

Streatham attack: Emergency terror law to end early prisoner release

Emergency legislation will be introduced to end the automatic early release from prison of terror offenders, the government has said.

Justice Secretary Robert Buckland told MPs the change would apply to both current and future offenders.

Terror offenders will only be considered for release once they have served two-thirds of their sentence and with the approval of the Parole Board.

It follows two attacks by men convicted of terror offences in recent months.

Read: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-51364047

Feeling quite optimistic, I thought finally here is proof that government legislation can be quickly changed without the customary humming and hawing for months/years on end. Reading on, nothing much will change will it.

I would very much like to know why the British taxpayer is expected to pay for the surveillance; accommodation; medical care and feeding of these people. If anyone poses a threat to our nation's security and/or citizens, no matter who, black or white or brown or yellow or green or blue, they should be instantly deported, even if born in the UK.

Problem solved!

It would be interesting to know just how many of these potential threats are incarcerated on home soil. Not statistics fudged for the desired effect but real numbers, across the nation. I'll wager it runs into the thousands.

Still, I guess it's a handy distraction from the decades of institutionalized horrors that is widely acknowledged as a reality, yet continues to be deviously covered-up by the establishment. The establishment that we all know and despise.

Terrorism is a very convenient tool in the wrong hands - and I'm not talking of the terrorists. A 21st century terminal cancer.

Cabinet reshuffle,

delighted leadsom and villiers gone Good news.  They have served their purpose.  Sunak is brilliant, all over his brief.  Javid was loyal and did well on the campaign trail.  Did a "good" job of pushing through hs2.  Didn't care for him personally but he was seen as a lieutenant.  Cummings is prob behind Javid's removal.

Old BoJo ain't lost his mojo has he.  I'm rather concerned about his more recent declarations of intended major new developments across the nation, each in it's own right guesstimated to cost millions from the public purse.  Marginally better than giving it away to unwanted immigrangs I guess.

Meanwhile he's having a bit of a soft shoe shuffle..

Boris Johnson's Cabinet reshuffle: who's in and who's out?

The Prime Minister has completed his cull, now his begins the appointments

By Telegraph Reporters 13 February 2020 • 11:55am

Boris Johnson is reshuffling his Cabinet as we speak. Here's who is on the way up, and who has been relieved of their duties.  We will update this as more details emerge.
Out

Sajid Javid has resigned. The Chancellor is believed to have quit after he was told that he would only be able to remain if he sacked his advisers.

Julian Smith, who was the Northern Ireland secretary, is first out the door. He tweeted: "Serving the people of Northern Ireland has been the biggest privilege.  I am extremely grateful to @BorisJohnson for giving me the chance to serve this amazing part of our country. The warmth & support from people across NI has been incredible. Thank you so much."

Sacking Mr Smith just weeks after he was widely praised for helping to restore the power-sharing agreement at Stormont is likely to prove controversial.

Chris Skidmore, the universities minister, has left Government, saying he would have "more time to spend" with his family.

He tweeted a picture of his child, adding: "Got a promotion in the #reshuffle to be a better Dad with more time to spend with this gorgeous little one.... Thanks everyone who I've had the chance to work with and the civil service teams that have supported me- you have all been amazing."

Esther McVey, the housing minister, is gone.

I’m very sorry to be relieved of my duties as Housing Minister

I wish my successor the very best & every success

I’m very grateful to the Prime Minister for having given me the opportunity to serve in his government & he will continue to have my support from the back benches

   — Esther McVey (@EstherMcVey1) February 13, 2020

Andrea Leadsom has been sacked as business secretary.

She said on Twitter: "It has been a real privilege to serve in Government for the last six years, and in @beisgovuk for six months. I now look forward to focusing on my constituents and on my 20+ year campaign to see every baby get the best start in life.

"I'm particularly proud of my work in BEIS on net zero and the £CountDowntoCOP and on making the U.K. the best place in the world to work and to grow a business. Huge thanks to my brilliant team in @BEISGovUK.

"I will continue from the back benches to work to ensure everyone is treated with dignity and respect"

Theresa Villiers, the environment secretary, has been sacked "to make way for someone new", she said.

In a lengthy Facebook post, she said: "What the Prime Minister giveth, the Prime Minister taketh away: just over six months ago, I was delighted to be invited by the Prime Minister to return to government after three years on the backbenches. This morning he told me that I need to make way for someone new.

"I am deeply grateful for having been given the opportunity to serve twice at the highest level of Government, first as Northern Ireland Secretary and then as Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. I tackled both roles with passion, commitment, and huge amounts of hard work."

She added: "I wish the Prime Minister and his new Cabinet well in the tasks ahead of them. I am sad to no longer be part of that team, but they will have my full support as they take forward Boris' bold agenda to unite and level up every part of this great country."

She added: "Whether it is in the Cabinet, in Parliament, or in any other walk of life, if there is one thing we should all strive for, it is to safeguard our natural environment for future generations.

"From the backbenches, I shall continue to campaign to protect nature and address disastrous climate change."

Geoffrey Cox has confirmed he has been sacked as Attorney General, saying: "I have been truly privileged to have served as Attorney General during the recent turbulent political times. I am now leaving the Government at the PM's request. I shall continue to represent and stand up strongly for the interests of Torridge and West Devon."

He was spotted at Parliament this morning but missing in action from the House. His departure forced Solicitor General Mark Ellis to step up to the Dispatch Box this morning to take oral questions from MPs.

George Freeman has lost his job as transport minister.

He tweeted: "On my bike. It's been a huge privilege to shape the new £FutureOfTransport Strategy at @transportgovuk w @grantshapps & brilliant DFT team, & help the PM make this an inspiring @OneNationCons Government of Renewal. Sad not to be part of it."

Nusrat Ghani has been sacked as a transport minister.

She tweeted: "Huge privilege to have been Transport Minister and we've achieved so much In 2 years. Thanks to the great team in the Dept and now I get to spend more time with family and constituents."

In

Rishi Sunak is the new chancellor. It is understood there will be a joint No10/No11 special advisers team to deliver on the Government's priorities

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2020/02/13/boris-johnson-cabinet-reshuffle-who-in-out-appointments/

....................

Good luck Mr BoJo - I really hope you know what you're doing.

Esther McVey and Andrea Leadsom gone?  Oh dear how sad never mind.  Keep shuffling BoJo high5 !
