Mark Williams-Thomas AGAIN - Now he claims to have new leads on the JILL DANDO and CLAUDIA LAWRENCE cases - but why exactly do the police & media give him special treatment, and who is promoting him?

Today the print and TV media are awash with the news that Mark Williams-Thomas is close to solving the mystery of the cold-blooded killing of TV presenter Jill Dando. Oh, and according to This Morning and the Daily Mail, he’s also close to solving the murder of Claudia Lawrence.

I reproduce the Daily Mail and Daily Mirror reports on the case below.

His claim to be close to solving the Dando case appears to be based on no more than a shadowy, unnamed underworld figure who says he knows ‘who did it’ but is frightened to say who it is in case he gets killed. This, 18 years after Jill Dando was killed! And who does he chose to speak to, after all this time? As we think of Jill Dando’s murder, let’s recall these salient facts:

1 The very first reporter on the scene was the BBC’s special crime correspondent, Clarence Mitchell
 
2 Barry Bulsara/George was wrongly convicted of her murder, based on trace evidence of firearms evidence matching the alleged murder weapon ‘found’ in Barry Bulsara’s pocket. The Court of Appeal suspected it may have been planted. 3 Three main theories have been put forward as to who killed Jill Dando:

A The establishment view was that it was a ‘Serbian hitman’, angry at NATO forces bombing the Serbian TV station in Belgrade   

B Conspiracy theorists suggest that Dando was about to expose a high level child sexual abuse ring connected to the BBC

C A hit man employed by arch-criminal Kenneth Noye; Dando when on Crimewatch helped to bring him to justice after he fled to Spain after the M25 road rage killing.   

But once again, it seems that Mark Williams-Thomas is given ‘highly favoured’ status by both the media and the police, and the establishment in general, despite the early end to his career as a Surrey Police officer in controversial circumstances.

Since then he has re-invented himself as…an expert on child sex offences…a criminologist…and now as a top ‘investigative journalist' and TV crime presenter.

Why? Who is backing him?

Look at the stories below and see how Mark Williams-Thomas is given ‘unique access’ to the Met Police files on Jill Dando’s murder. Again, why him?

Let’s recall that in 2007 Mark Williams-Thomas was wheeled on to SKY News many times, and also went to Praia da Luz, to comment on Madeleine’s reported disappearance.  He told the world that in his opinion the abduction of Madeleine McCann was very similar to the abduction of Joana Cipriano. Yet Joana Cipriano had been brutally murdered by her mother and uncle, who had both confessed to the crime, and were then, and still are, serving 16-year jail terms for the murder of the 8-year-old girl. How on earth was Mark Williams-Thomas allowed to get away with his blatant falsehood?

As can be seen from the reports below, Williams-Thomas is now universally hailed as ‘the man who first uncovered the Jimmy Savile scandal’. But who put him there? Who in the media and the police fed this information to Mark Williams-Thomas in the first place? Who decided that Mark Williams-Thomas would be credited with breaking open the Jimmy Savile scandal?

Several years later, Mark Williams-Thomas was evidently given special access to the high profile investigations into child sexual abuse by various celebrities and politicians. He would constantly boast on Twitter of his access to top police officers, and was often first with the news about pending arrests. Why did top police officers keep on passing confidential information to Mark Williams-Thomas. That question must be asked. And sooner or later it must be answered.



During this period, Mark Williams-Thomas also told his Twitter followers how he ‘viewed child sexual abuse images at home’. For ‘professional reasons’, of course. But if you or I did this, we would be arrested, charged and convicted with a criminal offence. By whose authority exactly is Mark Williams-Thomas able to view child sexual images at home whenever he wants to?

Finally, if we look at today’s media reports about Mark Williams-Thomas, we are told that the two police forces investigating the killings of Jill Dando and Claudia Lawrence have basically given Mark Williams-Thomas unprecedented and apparently unlimited access to their confidential files. Again, why? Is it thought  that he is any more capable than the police in these two cases of getting to the truth. On what basis is Mark Williams-Thomas constantly being given special access to highly confidential police files?

Does anyone agree with me that it looks very much as though shadowy establishment police and media figures are working to promote Mark Williams-Thomas – and that the reason for this may be to help him cover up the truth rather than reveal it?

An anonymous hitman believes he knows who was behind the 1999 murder of Crimewatch presenter Jill Dando but cannot take the information to police.

The revelations were made Mark Williams-Thomas - the man who exposed Jimmy Savile as a paedophile - as he spoke to This Morning as part of the ITV show's Unsolved series.

Unsolved consists of Mr Williams-Thomas,  an investigative journalist and former policeman, looking at uncracked cases to see what more can be done to help family and friends of the victims seek answers.

'One name stands out': Dando murder investigated on This Morning.

For the Dando case, he tracked down one of the names on the original list of around 100 suspects, who agreed to talk to him anonymously.

The man said: 'There are names here that I recognise. And there's one in particular that stands out to me. 

'ONE NAME STANDS OUT TO ME': DOES THIS PERSON KNOW JILL'S KILLER? 

With access to the police investigation files on the murder case, Mark raised further questions and saw a list of over one hundred potential suspects that were never followed up. 

One of these men on the list agreed to meet Mark anonymously.

When asked 'who do you think killed Jill Dando?' The man, whose voice was disguised, said, 'Certainly someone professional.'

Mark: 'So the professional that killed Jill Dando is still at large. Dangerous?'

Disguised man: 'Highly dangerous I'd say.'

Mark: 'I want you to have a look at this list of potential suspects, have a flick through to see if there's any on there that you know or would have a particular concern that they are out there…'

Shockingly the man reveals that he believes he knows who was behind organising Jill Dando's murder.

Disguised man: 'There are names here that I recognise. And there's one in particular that stands out to me. But I wouldn't identify that person because it's very dangerous.'



Mark: 'You have lived in that world and even now you are still fearful about how much you can say? Worrying that if you said too much that someone might come after you?'

Disguised man: 'Of course I am. I'm sure that they would come after me.'

'But I wouldn't identify that person because it's very dangerous.'

He added: 'Of course I am [fearful]. I'm sure that they would come after me.'

The journalist also approached a key witness who first found Jill dead on the doorstep of her home. 

She explained: 'I was walking up her road and I suddenly saw her car and made a point of deliberately looking at her door, and in one step everything changed, because I saw the most horrific scene. 

'I realised it was Jill. She was lying in a very strange position, and there was blood, and at first I thought she'd been stabbed of attacked in someway, her hands were very blue… and the way she looked I just knew she was dead.'

She added: 'It all looked very professional. I would never have thought that in leafy Fulham on an April day when the blossoms were coming out that somebody would have shot Jill Dando.'

Back in the studio, talking to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Mr Williams-
Thomas said: 'I've never reviewed a case where there is so much information that was never followed. 

'The reason being is that the police prosecuted Barry George and the information came in prior to the trial after his arrest, and continued to come in afterwards, but none of that was followed up.

'What now needs to happen is that someone needs to look, in relation to that evidence and start to investigate some of it. 

'There are eleven unidentified people still unaccounted for in the locality, there are over 100 potential suspects, there is other information naming people and specifically information on how this crime was carried out.' 

Yesterday he told MailOnline he has uncovered 'significant evidence' to suggest Jill Dando's murderer is named in the original case files.

He said significant lines of inquiry were 'never followed up' in the wake of Jill's murder on April 26 1999, when she was shot dead outside her London home.


Mr Williams-Thomas, an investigative journalist and former policeman, is looking at unsolved cases to see what more can be done to help family and friends of the victims seek answers.

Yesterday he told MailOnline he has uncovered 'significant evidence' to suggest Jill Dando's murderer is named in the original case files 

Mr Williams-Thomas, who calls the fact police have not revisited the investigation with a cold case team 'astonishing', and calls for a canal to be dredged for the gun used on the presenter, says: 'I can tell you that I am very confident that the killer or the person who organised the killing is in that inquiry team database.' 

He also examines of the cold case of university chef Claudia Lawrence - who was 35 when she disappeared as she returned home from work in York in 2009 - and has become convinced a mystery person is hiding a vital clue to solving her case - and possibly even protecting the party responsible.

The journalist spoke with FEMAIL ahead of his new ITV mini-series Unsolved, and here gives us an insight into what his research has uncovered...

I've had exclusive information to the police investigation both leading up to Barry George's arrest and conviction and after his acquittal.

I've uncovered significant evidence over the past 18 months and what is very clear is that at the point at which Barry George becomes a suspect, there ceases to be any other lines of inquiry.

Even after his acquittal those inquiries do not get carried out, so in the file there are an incredible amount of people, potential suspects, key amounts of information which has never been followed up. 

Bearing in mind this is an unsolved case I say that is totally wrong. Why do these inquiries remain unfollowed up, when given crucial information by members of the public and CrimeWatch appeals?

We show two elements [in Unsolved] just highlighting how the police failed to follow up on a piece of a significant information.

LINES OF ENQUIRY 

We have followed one of them up, but the other is a bit more complicated because of what they are alleging, but it wouldn't take too much for the police to follow up.

It basically involves dredging the canal for the gun. You have to do it, the great thing with the gun and the canal is that the chances are it will still be sitting at the bottom in silt.

We follow up on some elements of the potential suspect, we follow up on a crucial piece of information that sits within that.

In exactly the same way as in the Claudia Lawrence case, I have no doubt that the suspect or suspects are named within the inquiry. 

ORGANISED CRIME 

Jill Dando's murder was a professional hit. No doubt about it. Organised crime professional here, we take that one step further in the report to support that.

The evidence supports it and we have explored it with key individuals who potentially have crucial information, and they have in return come back with information that supports that. 

SUSPECTS AND WITNESSES 

All of our information will be provided to the police after the report goes out.

The key thing with the Jill Dando murder which I haven't stopped looking at, we are exploring it in terms of developing the intelligence further. 

I have no doubt that the suspect or suspects are named within the enquiry. 

When I started looking at it I would say there are 12 exclusive pieces of information that have never been in the public domain or that haven't been followed up, and vitally there are still 11 people in and around the area from that morning who have remained unidentified. 

We were able to get hold of the very first person that found Jill, the woman who found her on the morning of the murder, it is truly incredible what she says in terms of how she finds her and the position she's in, what her view is in respect of the killer. She was the very first person who found Jill.

CLAUDIA LAWRENCE 

NEW LEADS 

I have been given access to family members, friends and crucially to police officers that have worked on the investigation or are working on the investigation. 

As a result of that, we have certainly been able to gain access to new pieces of information that aren't in the public domain, and we've got exclusives that we are going to be featuring in the programme. 

THE NAG'S HEAD 

I think it was a complex investigation. There are a number of people who are outstanding in terms of CCTV. But also central to that investigation is the pub The Nag's Head, that was just up the road.

I feel very confident that the person or the persons; because what I've established is that I do not believe a sole person killed Claudia or was involved in her disappearance and then her subsequent murder. 

There was certainly two or more people involved, and those individuals certainly had contact with in some capacity The Nag's Head as the local pub.

I spent quite a bit of time in the locality [of the murder], the Nag's Head is so crucial because of the clientele that used to visit that pub. The clientele that visit that pub hold the clue to finally unlocking to what happened to Claudia.

ONE PERSON HOLDS THE KEY 

I hope that what our mini-series will show is that all we need is one person out there to finally unlock this. Because there is a girlfriend, an ex-partner, a lover who I believe holds the key to the truth. 

And what we hope is that they will one day fall out and finally feel the strength to come forward because this whole time her parents don't know what happened to their daughter and they are living in torment. 

All we need is one person out there to finally unlock this 

I think the secrets around the local community I believe again, that the offenders are known via the enquiry and that there are people out there, at least one person who holds the key to finding out the truth about what happened to Claudia.

It might be that they fall out with somebody, or they split with a friend or a partner and that will lead to Claudia's case finally been solved.

CLAUDIA'S PRIVATE LIFE 

It's a very difficult one, because Claudia's lifestyle, as is anybody who is a victim of crime, is really important. 

We call it the antecedence of the individual to build that up so you understand that. 



Claudia enjoyed life, she enjoyed the pub, she enjoyed her freedom. There have been strong suggestions that her lifestyle was quite negative and bad. This was a young woman who was enjoying life and sadly her enjoyment in life and the fact she had contact with lots of different people put her into a risky situation at times. 

LINK TO ANOTHER MURDER? 

There have been recent attempts to link this to other solved or unsolved murders, having looked at it in the manner I have I would say this is an isolated single offence where the offenders are not linked to any other murders.

There's a question mark, did she on the night return home or did she leave the following morning, I believe it is the night of the disappearance occurred, I don't think that night she slept at home.

This Morning's new true crime series has already stumbled upon its first lead.

The new segment sees Mark Williams-Thomas - who uncovered the Jimmy Savile scandal - taking a closer look at previously unsolved murder cases.

His first case is the murder of presenter Jill Dando, who was shot and killed on her doorstep in a murder that rocked the country back in 1999.

Mark spoke to a key witness who discovered Jill dead on her porch. She told him: “I was walking up her road and I suddenly saw her car and made a point of deliberately looking at her door, and in one step everything changed… because I saw the most horrific scene. I realised it was Jill.

"She was lying in a very strange position, and there was blood, and at first I thought she’d been stabbed of attacked in someway, her hands were very blue… and the way she looked I just knew she was dead.”

Mark also followed up with a potential suspect, who was never followed up during the police investigation.

With his voice disguised, he explained: “Certainly someone professional killed her."


Looking at a list of suspects, the man continued: “There are names here that I recognise. And there’s one in particular that stands out to me. But I wouldn’t identify that person because it’s very dangerous.”

Going on to insist the police are interested in his new evidence, he discussed what he believes needs to be done next.

“I would go back over the file, get a cold case team looking at it, start to do those inquiries that we’re never followed up - crucially Barry George was fully acquitted - so it’s now an unsolved case, so let’s look at this again with a fresh pair of eyes," he said.

"Dredge that canal, let’s look at it - and that’s one [piece of evidence], there are another five or six specific pieces of enquiry in there that should be closed down.”

One of the most important aspects of this case is that Jill Dando had put her house up for sale. She was no longer living there, she had moved in with her boyfriend Alan Farthing.
She decided to check on her house that day, so how would a hitman know, that out of the blue, she would be there that day.
How many people would know her intentions to make a random visit?
My opinion is, whoever carried out this hit was tipped off.

Didn't he talk about filming a documentary on the Dando murder to sell to a broadcaster MONTHS ago? He certainly made it sound a bigger deal than a 7 minute entry on "This Morning". 

Point being - obviously his "evidence" hasn't lead anywhere because it was handed to the police months ago and nothing has happened since.

And Simon Cowell is promoting him. He never fails to comment on Cowell shows.

No I wasn't aware of happychick's past revelation, thanks for raising it.  I was reading earlier about his opinion on the innocence of Oscar Pistorius - sometimes words fail me.

One thing is apparent, his link with and possible working relationship with one Clarence Mitchell which would easily explain his latching onto the case of Madeleine McCann and Leonor Cipriano - in order to discredit Goncalo Amaral.  In addition, in view of his line of work, or specialist interest if you prefer, there is a distinct possibility of a working relationship with the CEOP and it's ex-leader, Jim Gamble.

Sorry I should have been clearer. Cowell's company produces his series "The Investigator". Added to this, MWT constantly brown noses Cowell by bigging up shows like the X Factor on twitter.

 Clifford is now in prison but only a few days ago there was a story in the press from 'Jordan' about how she had slept with Cowell and he was a real man, or words to that effect. Why is it so important for Cowel to keep this 'ladies man ' image?

The Court of Appeal suspected it may have been planted. 3 Three main theories have been put forward as to who killed Jill Dando:

C A hit man employed by arch-criminal Kenneth Noye; Dando when on Crimewatch helped to bring him to justice after he fled to Spain after the M25 road rage killing.   

But once again, it seems that Mark Williams-Thomas is given ‘highly favoured’ status by both the media and the police, and the establishment in general, despite the early end to his career as a Surrey Police officer in controversial circumstances.

Since then he has re-invented himself as…an expert on child sex offences…a criminologist…and now as a top ‘investigative journalist' and TV crime presenter.

Why? Who is backing him?

Look at the stories below and see how Mark Williams-Thomas is given ‘unique access’ to the Met Police files on Jill Dando’s murder. Again, why him?

Let’s recall that in 2007 Mark Williams-Thomas was wheeled on to SKY News many times, and also went to Praia da Luz, to comment on Madeleine’s reported disappearance.  He told the world that in his opinion the abduction of Madeleine McCann was very similar to the abduction of Joana Cipriano. Yet Joana Cipriano had been brutally murdered by her mother and uncle, who had both confessed to the crime, and were then, and still are, serving 16-year jail terms for the murder of the 8-year-old girl. How on earth was Mark Williams-Thomas allowed to get away with his blatant falsehood?

As can be seen from the reports below, Williams-Thomas is now universally hailed as ‘the man who first uncovered the Jimmy Savile scandal’. But who put him there? Who in the media and the police fed this information to Mark Williams-Thomas in the first place? Who decided that Mark Williams-Thomas would be credited with breaking open the Jimmy Savile scandal?

Several years later, Mark Williams-Thomas was evidently given special access to the high profile investigations into child sexual abuse by various celebrities and politicians. He would constantly boast on Twitter of his access to top police officers, and was often first with the news about pending arrests. Why did top police officers keep on passing confidential information to Mark Williams-Thomas. That question must be asked. And sooner or later it must be answered.



During this period, Mark Williams-Thomas also told his Twitter followers how he ‘viewed child sexual abuse images at home’. For ‘professional reasons’, of course. But if you or I did this, we would be arrested, charged and convicted with a criminal offence. By whose authority exactly is Mark Williams-Thomas able to view child sexual images at home whenever he wants to?

Finally, if we look at today’s media reports about Mark Williams-Thomas, we are told that the two police forces investigating the killings of Jill Dando and Claudia Lawrence have basically given Mark Williams-Thomas unprecedented and apparently unlimited access to their confidential files. Again, why? Is it thought  that he is any more capable than the police in these two cases of getting to the truth. On what basis is Mark Williams-Thomas constantly being given special access to highly confidential police files?

Does anyone agree with me that it looks very much as though shadowy establishment police and media figures are working to promote Mark Williams-Thomas – and that the reason for this may be to help him cover up the truth rather than reveal it?

An anonymous hitman believes he knows who was behind the 1999 murder of Crimewatch presenter Jill Dando but cannot take the information to police.

The revelations were made Mark Williams-Thomas - the man who exposed Jimmy Savile as a paedophile - as he spoke to This Morning as part of the ITV show's Unsolved series.

Unsolved consists of Mr Williams-Thomas,  an investigative journalist and former policeman, looking at uncracked cases to see what more can be done to help family and friends of the victims seek answers.

'One name stands out': Dando murder investigated on This Morning.

For the Dando case, he tracked down one of the names on the original list of around 100 suspects, who agreed to talk to him anonymously.

The man said: 'There are names here that I recognise. And there's one in particular that stands out to me. 

'ONE NAME STANDS OUT TO ME': DOES THIS PERSON KNOW JILL'S KILLER? 

With access to the police investigation files on the murder case, Mark raised further questions and saw a list of over one hundred potential suspects that were never followed up. 

One of these men on the list agreed to meet Mark anonymously.

When asked 'who do you think killed Jill Dando?' The man, whose voice was disguised, said, 'Certainly someone professional.'

Mark: 'So the professional that killed Jill Dando is still at large. Dangerous?'

Disguised man: 'Highly dangerous I'd say.'

Mark: 'I want you to have a look at this list of potential suspects, have a flick through to see if there's any on there that you know or would have a particular concern that they are out there…'

Shockingly the man reveals that he believes he knows who was behind organising Jill Dando's murder.

Disguised man: 'There are names here that I recognise. And there's one in particular that stands out to me. But I wouldn't identify that person because it's very dangerous.'



Mark: 'You have lived in that world and even now you are still fearful about how much you can say? Worrying that if you said too much that someone might come after you?'

Disguised man: 'Of course I am. I'm sure that they would come after me.'

'But I wouldn't identify that person because it's very dangerous.'

He added: 'Of course I am [fearful]. I'm sure that they would come after me.'

The journalist also approached a key witness who first found Jill dead on the doorstep of her home. 

She explained: 'I was walking up her road and I suddenly saw her car and made a point of deliberately looking at her door, and in one step everything changed, because I saw the most horrific scene. 

'I realised it was Jill. She was lying in a very strange position, and there was blood, and at first I thought she'd been stabbed of attacked in someway, her hands were very blue… and the way she looked I just knew she was dead.'

She added: 'It all looked very professional. I would never have thought that in leafy Fulham on an April day when the blossoms were coming out that somebody would have shot Jill Dando.'

Back in the studio, talking to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Mr Williams-
Thomas said: 'I've never reviewed a case where there is so much information that was never followed. 

'The reason being is that the police prosecuted Barry George and the information came in prior to the trial after his arrest, and continued to come in afterwards, but none of that was followed up.

'What now needs to happen is that someone needs to look, in relation to that evidence and start to investigate some of it. 

'There are eleven unidentified people still unaccounted for in the locality, there are over 100 potential suspects, there is other information naming people and specifically information on how this crime was carried out.' 

Yesterday he told MailOnline he has uncovered 'significant evidence' to suggest Jill Dando's murderer is named in the original case files.

He said significant lines of inquiry were 'never followed up' in the wake of Jill's murder on April 26 1999, when she was shot dead outside her London home.


Mr Williams-Thomas, an investigative journalist and former policeman, is looking at unsolved cases to see what more can be done to help family and friends of the victims seek answers.

Yesterday he told MailOnline he has uncovered 'significant evidence' to suggest Jill Dando's murderer is named in the original case files 

Mr Williams-Thomas, who calls the fact police have not revisited the investigation with a cold case team 'astonishing', and calls for a canal to be dredged for the gun used on the presenter, says: 'I can tell you that I am very confident that the killer or the person who organised the killing is in that inquiry team database.' 

He also examines of the cold case of university chef Claudia Lawrence - who was 35 when she disappeared as she returned home from work in York in 2009 - and has become convinced a mystery person is hiding a vital clue to solving her case - and possibly even protecting the party responsible.

The journalist spoke with FEMAIL ahead of his new ITV mini-series Unsolved, and here gives us an insight into what his research has uncovered... 

Investigator Mark Williams-Thomas has spent 18 months working on some of the most high-profile unsolved murders in the UK.


Crimewatch presenter Jill Dando, 37, was shot and killed outside her London home in 1999 




Claudia Lawrence, then 35, disappeared in 2009 while walking home from work in York.

I've had exclusive information to the police investigation both leading up to Barry George's arrest and conviction and after his acquittal. 
 


Barry George was wrongly convicted on in 2001 of Jill Dando's murder  
 
I've uncovered significant evidence over the past 18 months and what is very clear is that at the point at which Barry George becomes a suspect, there ceases to be any other lines of inquiry.

Even after his acquittal those inquiries do not get carried out, so in the file there are an incredible amount of people, potential suspects, key amounts of information which has never been followed up. 

Bearing in mind this is an unsolved case I say that is totally wrong. Why do these inquiries remain unfollowed up, when given crucial information by members of the public and CrimeWatch appeals?

We show two elements [in Unsolved] just highlighting how the police failed to follow up on a piece of a significant information.

LINES OF ENQUIRY 

We have followed one of them up, but the other is a bit more complicated because of what they are alleging, but it wouldn't take too much for the police to follow up.

It basically involves dredging the canal for the gun. You have to do it, the great thing with the gun and the canal is that the chances are it will still be sitting at the bottom in silt.

We follow up on some elements of the potential suspect, we follow up on a crucial piece of information that sits within that.

In exactly the same way as in the Claudia Lawrence case, I have no doubt that the suspect or suspects are named within the inquiry. 

ORGANISED CRIME 

Jill Dando's murder was a professional hit. No doubt about it. Organised crime professional here, we take that one step further in the report to support that.

The evidence supports it and we have explored it with key individuals who potentially have crucial information, and they have in return come back with information that supports that. 

SUSPECTS AND WITNESSES 

All of our information will be provided to the police after the report goes out.

The key thing with the Jill Dando murder which I haven't stopped looking at, we are exploring it in terms of developing the intelligence further. 

I have no doubt that the suspect or suspects are named within the enquiry. 

When I started looking at it I would say there are 12 exclusive pieces of information that have never been in the public domain or that haven't been followed up, and vitally there are still 11 people in and around the area from that morning who have remained unidentified. 

We were able to get hold of the very first person that found Jill, the woman who found her on the morning of the murder, it is truly incredible what she says in terms of how she finds her and the position she's in, what her view is in respect of the killer. She was the very first person who found Jill.

CLAUDIA LAWRENCE 

NEW LEADS 

I have been given access to family members, friends and crucially to police officers that have worked on the investigation or are working on the investigation. 

As a result of that, we have certainly been able to gain access to new pieces of information that aren't in the public domain, and we've got exclusives that we are going to be featuring in the programme. 

THE NAG'S HEAD 

I think it was a complex investigation. There are a number of people who are outstanding in terms of CCTV. But also central to that investigation is the pub The Nag's Head, that was just up the road.

I feel very confident that the person or the persons; because what I've established is that I do not believe a sole person killed Claudia or was involved in her disappearance and then her subsequent murder. 

There was certainly two or more people involved, and those individuals certainly had contact with in some capacity The Nag's Head as the local pub.

I spent quite a bit of time in the locality [of the murder], the Nag's Head is so crucial because of the clientele that used to visit that pub. The clientele that visit that pub hold the clue to finally unlocking to what happened to Claudia.

ONE PERSON HOLDS THE KEY 

I hope that what our mini-series will show is that all we need is one person out there to finally unlock this. Because there is a girlfriend, an ex-partner, a lover who I believe holds the key to the truth. 

And what we hope is that they will one day fall out and finally feel the strength to come forward because this whole time her parents don't know what happened to their daughter and they are living in torment. 

All we need is one person out there to finally unlock this 

I think the secrets around the local community I believe again, that the offenders are known via the enquiry and that there are people out there, at least one person who holds the key to finding out the truth about what happened to Claudia.

It might be that they fall out with somebody, or they split with a friend or a partner and that will lead to Claudia's case finally been solved.

CLAUDIA'S PRIVATE LIFE 

It's a very difficult one, because Claudia's lifestyle, as is anybody who is a victim of crime, is really important. 

We call it the antecedence of the individual to build that up so you understand that. 



Claudia enjoyed life, she enjoyed the pub, she enjoyed her freedom. There have been strong suggestions that her lifestyle was quite negative and bad. This was a young woman who was enjoying life and sadly her enjoyment in life and the fact she had contact with lots of different people put her into a risky situation at times. 

LINK TO ANOTHER MURDER? 

There have been recent attempts to link this to other solved or unsolved murders, having looked at it in the manner I have I would say this is an isolated single offence where the offenders are not linked to any other murders.

There's a question mark, did she on the night return home or did she leave the following morning, I believe it is the night of the disappearance occurred, I don't think that night she slept at home.

This Morning's new true crime series has already stumbled upon its first lead.

The new segment sees Mark Williams-Thomas - who uncovered the Jimmy Savile scandal - taking a closer look at previously unsolved murder cases.

His first case is the murder of presenter Jill Dando, who was shot and killed on her doorstep in a murder that rocked the country back in 1999.

Mark spoke to a key witness who discovered Jill dead on her porch. She told him: “I was walking up her road and I suddenly saw her car and made a point of deliberately looking at her door, and in one step everything changed… because I saw the most horrific scene. I realised it was Jill.

"She was lying in a very strange position, and there was blood, and at first I thought she’d been stabbed of attacked in someway, her hands were very blue… and the way she looked I just knew she was dead.”

Mark also followed up with a potential suspect, who was never followed up during the police investigation.

With his voice disguised, he explained: “Certainly someone professional killed her."


Looking at a list of suspects, the man continued: “There are names here that I recognise. And there’s one in particular that stands out to me. But I wouldn’t identify that person because it’s very dangerous.”

Going on to insist the police are interested in his new evidence, he discussed what he believes needs to be done next.

“I would go back over the file, get a cold case team looking at it, start to do those inquiries that we’re never followed up - crucially Barry George was fully acquitted - so it’s now an unsolved case, so let’s look at this again with a fresh pair of eyes," he said.

"Dredge that canal, let’s look at it - and that’s one [piece of evidence], there are another five or six specific pieces of enquiry in there that should be closed down.”

I am absolutely stunned that this is going ahead with Mrs involved. I get the connection Richard, Cowell and BGT. They mustve had a rethink tho!
I think its going to take a generation (i.e. those who dont use the internet) before this all collapses. How can the MSM continue this charade when every single comment i've seen so far from i.e. The Scum, the Mirror etc do not beleive the abduction anymore. I get laughed at for being a " no planer" re. 9/11 but i think the tide is turning in our favour with Snr. Amarals win.
