The parents of British girl Madeleine McCann today called for support to ensure that the British and Portuguese governments to jointly review the case and "do more" to find the small, three and a half years after his disappearance when vacationing with his family in the Algarve Portugal.
In a letter, Kate and Gerry McCann urged people to support the search for "Maddie" to sign a petition seeking to pressure the British and Portuguese authorities to carry out "a transparent and independent review of all information connected with the disappearance of Madeleine. "
"Together we can, and get, tie all the loose ends of the case of Madeleine and were able to"say the parents of the girl.
Kate and Gerry McCann say in the letter are still looking for his daughter and his "little team" continues to review all available data on the case, "although we do not have access to all information held by UK authorities and Portugal. "
"It is incredible that in the past two years and three months, no police force has actively done anything to help us find Madeleine, "McCann wail.
The girl's parents say that "crucially, they have not made any formal review of the material is held by the police, something that is routine practice in most countries, especially when they could have gone through overlooked a key piece in this puzzle. "
"It is simply not acceptable that the authorities have given up the search for Madeleine. We need to do more ", highlighted.
Madeleine McCann was about four years old when he disappeared from a beach apartment in the Algarve, southern Portugal, in May 2007.
The parents, who declared from the beginning that her daughter had been abducted, were considered formal suspects in September 2007, but were acquitted in July 2008 for lack of evidence for the hypothesis of accidental death of the child.

For those who can't read MCF, Pamalam has the pictures of the McCanns which weren't supposed to be released till 3rd November, which coincidentally is the day of the Halligen trial conclusion.

No.
And may one say, that we all have to be cynical when dealing with this case. We must take nothing at face value, as we will miss all of that which they need to keep hidden. In this case, it is the Halligen chappie.
Have Team McCann changed their attitude and tried to reclaim the monies he has waltzed off with yet?

I think it's a shame that some people are trashing the petition with stupid comments as it'll just give the McCanns and their supporters more ammunition to call us all nutters.

Comments: I really think this has to be a joke! Otherwise I cannot believe the audacity of the McCann's and their spokesthing to actually publish this! Get back to Portugal and answer the questions...get your friends back and do a reconstruction, though that will probably re-open the case, not give cause for a review and I don't think an actual re-opening, based on the facts is what the alleged orginators of this petition want! Oh and stop having pictures of random young girls printed across the press...these kids deserve their privacy and freedom and you are invading it...if you think you see a child like Madeleine (unlikely due to the findings of the dogs) get the police to follow it up and ascertain the facts, don't publish the poor girl's picture in the international press, only to say "No, it's not" and another child is harmed in this shameful saga! - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Name: Patricia Pratt on Nov 2, 2010

It's in your hands Kate and Gerry to have the case REOPENED and perhaps will stop you whining about no law agency actively searching. Who's fault is that then?? It's your own fault and you know it. It would be jolly helpful...
I assume this is a genuine pro-McCann petition.
I have signed it a few minutes ago and confirm for the record that this is my entry and no other post in my name is from me:
Comments: It would be jolly helpful if you could tell us which of the 16 artists' sketches so far, 14 men and 2 women, whether 'suspects', 'persons of interest' or 'persons we wish to eliminate from our enquiries', we are really supposed to be looking for. Personally, I think 'pock-marked face' man looks highly suspicious, have you traced him yet? In the meantime, sign the REAL Madeleine McCann petition, the one on The Madeleine Foundation website calling for a FULL PUBLIC ENQUIRY into the whole affair: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
If this is a genuine Team McCann petition, is the Fund paying for all the time taken to delete all the comments?

Comments: I think the investigation should be reopenned a.s.a.p. The fact that the portuguese police has ignore most of the leads maybe leading to Madeleine is an outrage. It is well known that portuguese police is corrupted and I believe that the portuguese authorities don,t want Madeleine to be found for the simple reason that her abductors are high rank personalities in Portugual and probably linked to the Casa Pia case. The investigation of Madeleine's abduction should be reopened because an innocent child has paid the price of incompetence and also because her parents have been vivified for nothing. Yes, they made a huge mistake by letting the kids all also while they were sleeping but they have paid the biggest price of all. They've lost a precious child they longed to have for 5 years and who they loved so dealy. Please accept a new review to the case. A review will not help Maddie. It's in your hands Kate and Gerry to have the case REOPENED and perhaps will stop you whining about no law agency actively searching. Who's fault is that then?? Madeleine is a British citizen. She has been failed by the Portuguese authorities and by our own Government. Re: Madeleine's parents seek support from London and Lisbon to review the case

You`ve been whooshed clunked as well Tony !

A full public enquiry ASAP with witnesses summoned under Witness Orders to give evidence is the only way forward for justice for Madeleine
No, the McCanns ASKED for a review, and there were some claims by Clarence Mitchell earlier in the year that a review or re-investiagtion was under way.YNG wrote:I thought the case had been reviewed, and the recommendation was a thorough re-investigation?...Anyway the British Police should review all cases on missing persons and there is a procedural set time frame in which this should have been done
BUT, they asked Home Secretary Alan Johnson for a review and re-investigation, and he obviously said 'NO'.
That's why the McCanns had to go and ask the new Coalition Home Secretary, Theresa May, for the same thing.
Now it looks like that also got nowhere, so the McCanns have had to go to the ipetitions site to try and go over the heads of two Home Secretaries, and, guess what. IT WON'T WORK.

Thx Tony for clarifying this .... are you aware that it should be standard proceedure for a Review of a missing peron to take place ?
Long-term cases should be reviewed by a senior detective of at least the rank of chief inspector, who has been trained as an SIO. Reviews should take place every 28 days for the first 3 months, then at 6 months and 12 months intervals, then annually thereafter:
* Review the level of risk;
* Check for any outstanding and incomplete actions;
* Quality assure actions already taken;
* Set new actions and enquiries in order to bring the investigation to a successful conclusion;
* Make recommendations about the management and ownership of the investigation;
* Set future review date(s) as appropriate.
All the above should be recorded as policy decisions within the report.
