Pamela Gurney Don Logan a reconstruction will not help now. When Kate and Gerry wanted one soon after Madeleine's abduction (and it was refused them) it most certainly could have done. It is almost 6yrs now!

Mike Hinton Whilst I agree that it’s a little late in the day to have a reconstruction, it would at least address the numerous accounts of waiters and holidaymakers that Kate raised the alarm a lot earlier than has been reported.

I don't think there's much chance that the Official FaceBook page will ever allow comments that don't agree with the fairy-tale version!

That doesn't worry me as much as the elements of the mainstream media which have the same policy.

So if the Facebook webmaster is correct in that they offered to take part in a reconstruction but that was refused i wonder how said webmaster can tally that with these email exchanges, kindly stored for reference on the McCann files:

What is interesting in the series of exchanges is the way all the group use the same phrasing, as if they have all somehow agreed on the exact wording and have colluded in their answers:

Rachael & Matthew:

The tone of the reply from Portugal has changed and Matthew and I feel we need to take Legal Advice before making a commitment to return to Portugal.

Having read the attached letter, there appears to be a shift in the nature and the tone of the request for the re-enactment from something informal and friendly to a formal summons.

Jane and I agree in principle to participate in the re-enactment. However, given the change in nature of the request, we feel it is necessary to seek additional Legal Advice to advise us on this course of action

Equally why did the Mccann's allow the final archiving report (the one they used so readily to "exonerate" themselves) to state the following unchallenged:

Nevertheless, despite national authorities assuming all measures to render their trip to Portugal viable, for unknown motives, after the many doubts that they raised about the necessity and opportunity of their trip were clarified several times, they chose not to attend, which rendered the diligence inviable.

We believe that the main damage was caused to the McCann arguidos, who lost the possibility to prove what they have protested since they were constituted arguidos: their innocence towards the fateful event; the investigation was also disturbed, because said facts remain unclarified.

IIRC, they wanted the PJ to use actors for the reconstruction, and that was the element the PJ objected to.

Actors would have been unable to follow the impossible stage directions.
"You have to get into this apartment, without a key and without damaging anything or leaving any forensic trace, administer instant sedation to these three dolls, pick one up, turn it round, and get out, again without leaving any trace.
You have ONE minute and TWENTY seconds, and your time starts - - - NOW"
They wanted the T7 to demonstrate, fail, and then to take them back for further questioning and statements.
Which would also mean one other thing . . .
No wonder their lawyers told them not to go.

The notion that they suggest the PJ use actors like a snippet off crime watch is ludicrous in the extreme. big grin

I've posted twice in the last few days on the McCanns Face Book page only to have the contents erased by the person who runs it. Both of the postings contained details of the McCanns desire to settle out of court, simply asking what was going on! They lasted a matter of hours and interestingly had a number of "likes." Then they were Whooshed, painless but somewhat annoying as well as experiencing a sort of scammy negative karma. Uggghhh! makes me shudder.

Shame on you.
