Re: McCanns to have meeting today at Commons with Cameron, Milliband and Clegg
There’s no evidence these people said anything of the sort other than the word of someone who held tightly to their right of silence whilst being interviewed under caution as a suspect.
Let’s suppose they did come forward, the word of a paralegal is frankly of little value here, and if a barrister did materialise from the ether, firstly I check he wasn’t made of ectoplasm before he confirmed his opinion, and really, that’s all it is, an informed one but one that flies in the face of not only common sense but also consensus behaviour. There is no doubt that any number of barristers could argue a healthy and most likely winning case against such a declaration. Ultimately it should be for a judge to decide as a point of law or direct a jury accordingly.
Sadly though, with the way DC seems to be cosying up to the McCanns who are let’s face it two of only three suspects ever formally questioned about the disappearance of their daughter from an apartment that has revealed highly compelling evidence pointing to a dead body - still unaccounted for (as with the missing child) – being at one time in that apartment as well as the same evidence pointing to it being in a car used by the same two suspects. It doesn’t matter how you try to trash it, you can’t trash it because the evidence of these dogs is supported by other dogs and in other cases judicially upheld around the world, not to mention all the other circumstances surrounding this case. Couple that cosying up in the face of that info along with the drivel spilling out of Grange and its a long road ahead I’m afraid.
Someone should let Eddie on DC, I know what he would find.....

Re: McCanns to have meeting today at Commons with Cameron, Milliband and Clegg
It should be apparent to anyone with half an eye open the Orwellian destruction of free speech is at the heart of this government’s agenda and it still would be if the other puppets were in. And when the press is suitably shackled a concerted effort will be made on alternative media. We are already seeing forays into that arena with the LM affair.
It seems the door is being forced wide open to a fascist future. I take no joy in saying or seeing that, quite frankly, it sickens me.

Apologies for the ectoplasm remark, it was rather cynical.
Apparently, he wore a panama hat, a bow tie and power braces.
He must be real.
Note the barrister’s rank is defined by the panama enabling the McC’s to easily tell the difference.

So 19 victims at this meeting and just one picture of K & G........
Father of Milly Dowler and Kate McCann meet Cameron over press regulation
The father of Milly Dowler and the mother of Madeleine McCann were among 19 victims of phone hacking and press intrusion who yesterday met the leaders of Britain's three biggest political parties.

Bob Dowler and Kate McCann urged David Cameron, the Prime Minister and Conservative leader, Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrat leader and Deputy Prime Minister and Ed Miliband, the Labour party leader, to take "swift" action.
The meetings were organised by Hacked Off, a high-profile campaign against press invasion of privacy which is urging a new system of press regulation "underpinned in the law".
The mobile phone of Milly Dowler, the murdered schoolgirl, was hacked by the News of the World, the tabloid newspaper which has since closed.
Kate and Gerry McCann accepted £550,000 in damages from Express Newspapers over false and defamatory stories published about the disappearance of their daughter in 2007.
Christopher Jefferies, the former landlord of Joanna Yeates, accepted "substantial" and undisclosed libel damages from eight newspapers over allegations made against him over her death.
After meeting the leaders, he said: "It was very encouraging meeting with the three party leaders. All three made it clear that the status quo cannot be allowed to continue.
"They are all on the record of saying that provided the recommendations that Lord Justice Leveson are proportionate and workable then they will work together to implement those proposals."
Margaret Aspinall, who lost her son, James, in the Hillsborough disaster, said: "I was very pleased to be part of it for the simple reason it took 23 and a half years to get to the truth of Hillsborough. I think it is important to make sure there is no intrustion into private lives."
Professor Brian Cathcart, director of Hacked Off, said: "It is possible that a good system of press regulation can be designed which was underpinned in law.
"I would be very hesitant [about self-regulation]. I think the option of the press self-regulating is very unlikely to be advanced by Lord Justice Leveson, partly because of the reasons we had to have the public inquiry.
"They [the party leaders] all stated that the key test of the outcome of the Leveson Inquiry is that victims of hacking and other abuses are satisfied that the systematic failures in press regulation are being properly addressed.
"All of the leaders spoke of the importance of waiting for Lord Justice Leveson. That said they all recognised the need for radical change in the way the press is regulated.
"All the leaders agreed that the best way forward to the Leveson recommendations is an all party approach."

Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"
Amelie McCann (aged 2): "Maddie's jammies!".

I thought that reforming the libel laws was intended to make them more difficult to use in the sort of cases which have been brought to court over the last decade or so. Bad news for the terminally litigious and lawyers of course.

Has it been passed that Cameron was going to reform the libel law?
How, when, and what in specifics?

Tony Bennett wrote:Quite so.aquila wrote:Still only verified by the McCanns. Still un-named by the McCanns. An anonymous donor, an anonymous paralegal with an anonymous barrister in tow (let's forget the bow ties and panama hat for now). So, nothing verified or checkable. Who are these people who flew in one week after Madeleine went missing to give legal advice?
And that's against the McCanns' own benchmark as set out 14 pages later on page 138 of her book, where she talks about how The Fund (Madeleine's Fund) 'must be run to the highest standards of transparency'.
As for 'these people who flew in to Praia da Luz', the number of important people who descended on the village was very substantial, see for example my OP here:
https://jillhavern.forumotion.net/t636-the-people-who-rushed-out-to-praia-da-luz
I keep on discovering more, so must try and amend the OP some time.
Here's another: Dr Joe Sullivan:
Highly respected forensic psychologist Dr Joe Sullivan arrived in Praia da Luz within 48 hours of Madeleine's disappearance (according to Martin Brunt - reports at the time stated 08 May 2007), as part of a so-called 'Cracker' team with Detective Superintendent Graham Hill. He returned to the UK on 09 May 2007.
He later helped in the production of, and personally narrated, the A Minute for Madeleine campaign video; An appeal directly to the person who is keeping a 'secret' about Madeleine, 'who knows who's involved in her disappearance' and who may have been groomed by the perpetrator(s) to stay quiet.
In January 2010, he shared a stage with Gerry McCann at the CEOP conference entitled: 'Taken: Sexually-motivated child abductions', although Gerry McCann, despite being booked as the closing speech, spoke earlier in the day and would have missed the speech by Dr Joe Sullivan.
There's more about him on the McCannFiles site
Mentor Forensics was established by forensic psychologist Dr Joe Sullivan who has brought together a multi-disciplinary team of highly experienced specialists.
http://mentorforensics.com
There's an interesting list of peer reviewed published journal articles on the subject of child sexual exploitation on his website. Yet, perhaps unsurprisingly given the comparative rarity of sexually motivated child abductions, there is only one article (awaiting publication) on the subject of "sexually motivated abduction and murder."
