Childcare and sleeping arrangements
The McCanns claim that their three children were left home alone whilst the ate at the tapas bar and that regular checks were being made on all the children, each set of parents, generally checking their own (with a few exceptions).
The PJ claim that all the children slept in one apartment.
Many of us have believed the McCanns version of this and little attention has been given to what the PJ have said, maybe it is worth a closer look.
Here are a number of indications that the PJ may have been right
1. On arrival, the McCanns re-arranged the bedroom furniture emphasising that they pushed 2 single beds together and moved a cot
2. There was a third cot in the McCanns apartment - according to the booking form, an extra cot or bed was requested (will post the booking form later)
3. Each night at least one member of the tapas group was missing from the table
3. On the first night, the McCanns did not got out (were they 1st to mind the children?)
4. Madeleine slept in her parents room for one night, was that the first night? Were Ella and Lilly with her? Were K & G in the kids room?
5. On night 2, Matthew was missing (tummy bug), on another night it was Russell and at one point, I believe, Rachael
6. If Madeleine had disappeared earlier in the week, it is unlikely that the group would risk leaving any of the children alone
7. If the children were sedated, was it to make life easier for whoever was babysitting that night?
8. On May 3rd, Russell was away from the table until replaced by Jane and Gerry was away spending a long time in the loo - were they busy placing the twins back into 5A?
9. There were claims that members of the group did not leave the table too check the children as claimed

Re: Childcare and sleeping arrangements
May I add the cots?
Those cots were totally unsuitable for children aged two plus.

That would make sense sharonl as all the "sightings," could have been JT and GM carrying the twins .

Re: Childcare and sleeping arrangements
From the gospel according to St Kate: during the night of Tuesday 1st May "sometime in the early hours Madeleine came through to our bedroom, complaining that Amelie was crying and had woken her up. Gerry checked on Amelie, who settled quickly, and we let Madeleine jump into bed with us".
The bed in question was 2 singles pushed together, each half having its own sheets and topcovers. So whose half did Madeleine squeeze into?
Eta no trace of Madeleine was found in 5A, Gerry had to retrieve a pillowcase and other items which were purported to belong to her, or came from her, from Rothley for DNA testing.
At one point in Dianne Webster's rog, it appears she wasn't sure whether the apartment she'd stayed in was on the ground floor or upstairs. .

Didn't I read somewhere in one of Gerry's statements that he wasn't sure if one of the kids woke up? I'm pretty sure I did. I think that whilst Kate says Gerry checked on Amalie, he isn't so sure he did? I could've wrong but I'm sure I read that somewhereultimaThule wrote:From the gospel according to St Kate: during the night of Tuesday 1st May "sometime in the early hours Madeleine came through to our bedroom, complaining that Amelie was crying and had woken her up. Re: Childcare and sleeping arrangements
In the beginning, after the suggestion was made all kids slept together, I wondered for a while if one of the other children caused Madeleine's death. It would explain a lot.
I just don't believe anymore that the children were all put together in one of the apartments.

It was odd that Dianne Webster said she slept in the living room and Lily had the bedroom. Unbelievable a granny would be shunted off while the toddler had the two-bed bedroom. Iirc the Paynes said the baby was in with them. If there was a dormitory it was maybe Paynes.

Re: Childcare and sleeping arrangements
If there was a 'dormitory' it seems to me it would be more likely to be the McCanns' apartment as it would be a lot easier and quicker to deliver the appointed manager for the night their Tapas meal and supply them with the free vino via the patio doors which were situated closest to the Bar in comparison with the other apartments the group occupied, juliet.juliet wrote:It was odd that Dianne Webster said she slept in the living room and Lily had the bedroom. It would also explain Kate's words to the effect that 5A provided a convenient 'bathroom stop' (my words) for those to whom continence appears to have been as much of a problem as conscience is to them.

And on that note, I bid you good night ...

Re: Childcare and sleeping arrangements
I just had a thought. Not sure if anyone else has posted it so sorry if I have stolen anyone idea.
Perhaps the tapas 9 never intended to leave the children alone to sleep while they ate. Perhaps they intended to have an early tea with the children present then back to sometimes apartment for drinks etc. Perhaps Madeleine died shortly after they arrived and so if the cover up was to be an abduction, then it would throw a spanner in the works if a waiter or other staff member said that Madeleine hadn't been seen at dinner all week. So they decided to leave all the kids out of sight while they ate but probably with someone watching them hence the absences from the take each night.
I didn't used to think that she died earlier than 3Rd but given other cases eg Mikaeel Kular where the parents have been charged but managed to convince people at least for a while that the child disappeared much later than was actually the case, and also the conflicting accounts of the earlier days of the holiday, I an coming round to the idea.
Hope this makes sense.
