Question about 'Ward of Court' status Empty Question about 'Ward of Court' status

Post by Upsy Daisy 12.05.11 13:50

Dear Tony Bennett and other expert members on this case. I have been following this case almost since the beginning but really only read more about it properly over the last year or so. I was wondering if anyone could help clear up my understanding of Madeleine's 'Ward of Court' status. Why was this status given and was she a ward of court prior to her disappearance due to some issue with the parents that has not been disclosed, or was she given this status after her disappearance in so much that her parents are responsible for her disappearance and should not be given the right to look after her because she was essentially 'neglected' and left to fend for herself and subsequently disappeared? Thanks, if anyone can shed any light I would be grateful. Keep up the good work. Justice must be done and I am confident that in the end it will. I believe the McCanns, through their arrogance and narcissism, will dig themselves unwittingly into an even deeper hole.

:flower: Thanks Candyfloss and for the welcome too. Been reading a load of posts and was a bit shy in posting however have broken the ice now! Will try to pitch into some of the threads, great reading and interesting to see the comments on both sides. I smelled a rat right from the start....something just didn't add up and here we are 4 years later. Sadly no Madeleine. Will be interesting to see what becomes of all the current media hype, book divulgence, etc. Thanks. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Thanks Get 'em Goncalo. I am constantly checking for new updates on different threads and sections, I guess we are all just eager for a conclusion to this rather sad and unfortunate situation. Hopefully 2011 will be the final year of this whole charade and justice will be done. Cheers.

Am I right in thinking that if Madeleine is a Ward of Court, access to her medical records can be granted to the Scotland Yard enquiry? I've trawled through loads of info (I'm becoming overloaded) and I can't see that the McCann children's medical records were ever released to the Potuguese police. Forgive me for being a bit of a novice. I've only recently begun to get into the nitty gritty. I'm interested as to how far Scotland Yard will research the Portuguese police theory. It seems at times the PNJ appeared to be working with one arm tied behind their back.
