Missing photographs

Never seen a photograph of Gordon Brown and the famous couple together. Why not? Might have got him some more votes in the election.
They leave a message to phone them to do something or other for them and he is on the line asap.
He visits Leicester Police Station and the FSS ( both of whom developed severe malfunctions as who wouldn't ?)
But he could have just gone up the road to Rothley - nice publicity shot.
No photographs of the 'family' together i.e. the McCann or the Healy family or both.
No photographs of "Mother and daughter - Mother and children, whole family in PdL.
No photographs of Maddie at the creche in Rothley or in PdL.
No photographs of them with Richard Branson?
Are there any photographs of them with the famous people they talk about?

The 46 or so friends and family that travelled to Donegal in April?
Photos of the three children together.
Any camera phone photos? I have a young daughter and always have my phone on me so I can capture her doing funny/crazy/cute poses. I would have thought that given how much bleating there was in the bewk about how special Madeleine was, that one or both of the mccanns might have had a camera phone and used it on holiday to take some photos of the family. Tales of running back to the apartment to get a camera to take the tennis court photo are just not convincing!
A photo of the summit at Rothley later that year! Wouldnt mind seeing exactly who would be in that photo!

All the photographs of poor Madeleine on the holiday in PDL. I cannot believe that there aren't any. What parents take a three year old child on holiday and do not take many, many photographs? Especially with a digital camera, it does not matter if some are wasted, they can be deleted. Unlike a film camera which is expensive, every shot must be properly arranged as you must pay for processing. Also - why does it take so long to give a photo to the Police? Why can Kate not immediately give them the memory card from the camera?

There's quite a lot in the McCannfiles on the forensic examination of the memory card which is only black and white. I think because all the photos were deleted on the camera? The OC send her someone to help her go through all these pictures, someone called Wolf... something like that.
I still think the most glaring omission is no publicity shot with Gordon Brown, perhaps he didn't like his collar yanked every time the Ms needed him to step in? I'm sure they would have loved to add such a shot to the one with the Pope. Damn! Their collection isn't as impressive as they'd like, there's J.K. Rowling who managed to extricate herself diplomatically, Branson, who only promised a reward, gave no money or photo opportunities. Gerry was annoyed when he went to the US because he was fobbed off with an underling. Got a nice shot of him near the White House though. but one with Obama would have been better.

I found my avatar on a Google search of "Shiibboleth". It is the title of the artwork, in the Turbine Hall of the Tate Gallery. I do not know in what manner it represents a real shibboleth, but I like the art. It represents to me the efforts of the McCann, holding the story together, across the big splits and splinters.

Yes, that would be correct. When pictures are *deleted* they remain on the card until that physical space is used again. This is why some deleted files can be recovered. The area is only tagged as being free to use again. It still has the old data on it, unless the user makes a complete format. A *quick format* still leaves the old files in situ. Some of the information may have been lost, in particular the color information, that is why the pictures can only be recovered in monotones.
