questions scrolling across the top - queries

One question states that 'Kate says she was certain Maddie was murdered (p.269 para 3)' and asks how she can logically proceed with a Fund to find her.

My copy of the book on p.269 does not mention this at all. My copy is the Irish paperback version. Could the Uk hardback have different page nos? I would like to read this for myself because if Kate does say this in the book, then indeed it does surely mean the Fund is fraudulent.

My other query is the statement that the Fund was set up 9 days after she vanished. That is not true. the company was incorporated on May 15 - 12 days after she vanished.

Either way, it is unprecedented for such a company to be set up so soon after someone goes missing and may be found at any time. But we should have our facts correct and this needs to be amended.

Just seen the page reference in the scrolling question has been changed to P 296 and in my edition it reads -

'I was beginning to get past my early certainty that Madeleine must have been taken by a paedophile and murdered..'

This is VERy interesting. If the truthful book says it was her 'early certainty' that Madeleine was murdered, why use donations to set up a limited company to find her when believes she is dead.

I can answer this one. Wee Calum, the ex pupil of Auntie Phil who built the website, used a program called Dreamweaver MX to make it. You could see from the source code of the website, it had the file extension DWT which signifies Dream Weaver Template. He made the site using one of the sample pages, which were dated 2006. He was too lazy or stupid to alter the date. That is all, no big mystery here.

This suggest that the so called fund was in the process of being set up prior to 3rd May 2007

In spite of some of the terrible discoveries I was making as I learned more of the stories and statistics relating to missing and exploited children, it wasn’t all bad news. Gradually, my outlook was growing more positive and I was beginning to get past my early certainty that Madeleine must have been taken by a paedophile and murdered. I was coming to realize that didn’t have to be the answer. Meeting Ernie Allen and the people at NCMEC played a big part in helping me along this road.

I agree Kate. I too doubt that Madeleine was taken by a paedophile and murdered!

if you check the UK Company office website you can see that a company can be incorporated in 24 hours if you pay an extra fee. Thus the decision to set up the company could have been taken after Madeleine vanished. The book claims that lawyers from the IFLG visited them in Portugal over the weekend on May 11-13 and advised them to set up this company.

But given that Kate says on p.296 (which I had not realised until yesterday) that she believed initially that Madeleine had been taken by a paedophile and murdered - it is unbelievable that these lawyers would have convinced her to set up a company so soon.
