Parents criticize agency profits from child like Madeleine
British doctors Kate and Gerry McCann, parents of the girl Madeleine disappeared on May 3 in southern Portugal, blasted a double for profit agency with a girl much like Maddie to star in a film about the case.
London- British doctors Kate and Gerry McCann, parents of the girl Madeleine disappeared on May 3 in southern Portugal, blasted a double for profit agency with a little girl like Maddie to star in a film about case.
Said today the British newspaper The Sun, quoted by the Ansa agency, Shona Adams, owner of the London agency Juliet Adams Model Agency, found a double of Madeleine with which he hopes to win up to $ 18 million.
"It's not sinister, it is entertainment," defended the woman who found the girl Kelsey Lynn Kudla three years, whose resemblance to Maddie is "incredible", to star in a film about the Madeleine case.
"If you make a movie about Madeleine, then Kelsey will be ideal," said Adams.
Also clarified that if a director like Steven Spielberg directs a movie like "the girl could easily make up to 18 million dollars, of which 20% would be for me."
This week, Gerry and Kate, 39, denied they are negotiating with a producer the rights of a movie about Madeleine, as the British press had reported.
"This is a shameless money-making concept, their actions (Adams) are unpleasant, painful and offensive," said the official spokesperson for the family.
"This woman and her agency did not even have the courtesy to ask permission. Although in this case, we would have refused, "he continued.
However, he refused to rule out the possibility of filming a movie, admitted that the campaign funds of finding Madeleine are disappearing expenses. (Télam)

This is an old story from 2008, and not latest news, so I will move to Press Archives.
McCanns furious over Madeleine lookalike
By Lucy Cockcroft
10:30AM GMT 11 Jan 2008
The parents of missing Madeleine McCann are furious that the boss of a child modelling agency is touting a lookalike of their daughter for hire.
US TV psychics join hunt for Madeleine McCann
Clarence Mitchell, the McCann family spokesman described it as a "shameless money-making scheme".
He admits money is needed to continue the privately funded search for Madeleine, who vanished on holiday in Portugal last May.
But he described the actions of the modelling agency as "disgraceful, hurtful and offensive".
Shona Adams, the boss of the London agency, insists the ploy is "not sinister - it's entertainment" and reveals she will take a 20 per cent cut of any money made.
The 41-year-old told The Sun newspaper: "If the film about Madeleine is ever made, then the world is Kelsey's oyster.
"If someone like Steven Spielberg made it, she could make £9 million easily – of which I'd take 20 per cent.
"She will become a name in her own right and make it as a child model or actress because she's got her foot in the door.
"And from there, her earning potential is limitless. It's not sinister. And if the McCanns are upset, there's nothing they can do because it's a democracy.
"I wouldn’t back away from it because, if a film is being made, then it's entertainment."
Kate and Gerry McCann, both 39-year-old doctors from Rothley, Leicestershire, have denied that they are planning to make a feature film about the disappearance of Madeleine.
However, they have confirmed they are in talks over the possibility of making a documentary, although no deal has been agreed.
Mr Mitchell added: "This woman and her agency have made no effort to seek permission from us. If she had, she would have been refused."
The agency became aware of Kelsey's resemblance to the missing four-year-old when her mum contacted their website from her home in America

It takes one to know one!
I hope that I will be the first to jump in and say that, if ever there was an expert on shameless money-making schemes: Clarence Mitchell - THIS IS YOUR LIFE!

'In talks about making a documentary' - of course documentary films are normally truthful whereas feature films are more creative.
Would it be a documentary based on the truthful book?
And would the Mccanns and Tapas friends at last do a reconstruction of that evening in the documentary?
