How come we have 10 people arrested so far, and we have all the names except for one classed as "Annonymous" a 63 year old private detective. Why hasn't the media found out who this is or have they?

The investigation into the phone hacking scandal has seen a number of high profile arrests.

The ten people arrested so far are:

The chief reporter of the News Of The World was arrested on April 5 on suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications and unlawful interception of voicemail messages.

:: Ian Edmondson

Mr Edmondson, a former senior editor at the NOTW, was also arrested on April 5, also on suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications and unlawful interception of voicemail messages.

:: James Weatherup

Mr Weatherup, a senior reporter on the News Of The World, was arrested on April 14 on suspicion of conspiracy to unlawfully intercept communications and unlawful interception of mobile phones. The 55-year-old was the tabloid's news editor under Andy Coulson between 2004 and 2006.

:: Terenia Taras

The 39-year-old freelance journalist was arrested on June 24 on suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications. She had worked for several national newspapers over the last decade including the NOTW.

:: Laura Elston

The 34-year-old Press Association reporter was arrested on June 27, on suspicion of unlawfully intercepting voicemail messages. She was the first person to be detained who had not worked for the News Of The World.

:: Andy Coulson

Mr Coulson was the editor of the News Of The World between 2003 and 2007 and served as David Cameron's communications chief until his resignation in January. He was arrested on July 8 on suspicion of corruption and attempting to intercept communications.

:: Clive Goodman

The former royal editor for the News Of The World was arrested on July 8 after allegations he'd given bribes to police officers. Mr Goodman was jailed for four months in 2007 for using information gained by phone hacking in stories.

:: Anonymous

An unidentified 63-year-old man, who was described as a private detective, was arrested on July 8 on suspicion of corruption.

:: Neil Wallis

Mr Wallis worked as deputy editor of the News Of The World while Andy Coulson was editor. He was arrested on July 14 on suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications.

:: Rebekah Brooks

Rebekah Brooks was detained after voluntarily attending an appointment at a central London police station. Her arrest came two days after she resigned as chief executive of News International and just two days before she was due to give evidence to a Commons select committee alongside both Rupert and James Murdoch.

Who is this Mr Anonymous ? Why does he deserve anonymity ?

I am betting he is either MI6 or someone linked to the McCann's.

This is what is so intriguing Stella. They have named every other person who has been arrested except for this one person, whom Sky say they have found out is a Private Detective. It seems unbelievable that they don't know who this person is. Have they been told to keep it quiet, and why? shhhh Hmmm... thinking

The only Surrey detective I can find linked to the McCanns - what do we know about him?

NOEL HOGAN

Kate and Gerry McCann have hired a former Met Police officer to carry out a "cold case" review into Madeleine's disappearance. Noel Hogan, a former CID detective, has spent hundreds of hours interviewing British witnesses in the case. He has also gone through each witness's existing statements line by line. Among those he has interviewed include the so called "Tapas seven" who were on holiday with the McCanns in Praia da Luz last May. He is also thought to have taken Kate and Gerry McCann through their own statements in minute detail. Mr Hogan spent eight years in the Met where he reached the rank of detective superintendent. Since 1986 he has run his own detective agency in Surrey, Hogan International, which claims to have extensive experience dealing with missing-person cases http://www.ehogans.com/News.html (Links to Met and MI5)
