A little girl has been so touched by the story of missing Madeleine McCann that she’s on a solo mission to help find her.
It began when Laura Keay, five, saw her mum reading the book, Madeleine, Kate McCann’s story of the family’s ordeal after her three-year-old daughter disappeared on holiday in Portugal in 2007.
Laura’s mum Caroline Dumville, 45, said: "She saw the picture of Madeleine on the front and asked me what it was all about so I explained.
"In the picture she’s a similar age to Laura so it really hit home.
"She was very upset. She immediately emptied her piggy-bank and asked me to send the money to help Madeleine."
Then Laura, who lives with her mum and dad Andrew, 49, and sister Isla, three, on Grange Park Avenue, Wilmslow, wondered how she could raise more money.
"I suggested she do a sponsored walk and try to find people to sponsor her," added Caroline, who runs Primrose Cottage Nursery in Moss Nook.
"It’s quite thoughtful for someone that age to be bothered. I suppose I relate too, because I have two young girls and if something like that happened it would be a nightmare."
So Laura will walk, with her mum, around The Carrs on Sunday, June 26.
Styal Primary School pupil Laura said: "I want to help Madeleine.
"I want to find her. It’s very sad but if I help they will pay for more policemen, because they’re all giving up."
All the money which Laura raises will be sent to the charity Madeleine’s Fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned, the only organisation still actively searching for the McCanns’ daughter.
Laura plans to write to Madeleine’s parents when she sends her sponsorship money.
To sponsor Laura call 07770 897678.

:

yet another example of sloppy journalism - last time looked at the McCann site they clearly stated that the Fund does not have charity status because it does not meet the Charity commission rules as it is about one child and not missing children generally. So many better causes for this childs pocket money.

Does the mother not know that Scotland Yard is currently conducting a review at great cost to the UK taxpayer?

The mccanns scare their own twins with their lies about a bad man etc sick

For Paulo Sargento, the thesis that Gonçalo Amaral revealed at first hand to "SP" that the blanket could have been used in a funeral ceremony at the Luz chapel "is very interesting".

And he adds: "In reality, when the McCanns went to Oprah's Show, the blanket was mentioned. At a given moment, when Oprah tells Kate that she heard her mention a blanket several times, Kate argued that a mother who misses a child always wants to know if she is comfortable, if she is warm, and added, referring to Maddie, that sometimes she asked herself if the person who had taken her would cover her up with her little blanket (but the blanket was on the bed after Maddie, supposedly, disappeared!!!).

Another article which has had me gnashing my teeth and kicking the spare bed! If only people would realise that there is a lot more to this case than what the gutter press and Kate's dreadful book say.

Cashing in on Madeleine's name: Fund managers asked for trademark registration

The brand name “Madeleine's Fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned” will be a commercial brand, protected by law, soon. The managers of the campaign to find Madeleine have applied with the European Community Trademark Registration to protect the name “Madeleine's Fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned”. The request filled also asks for that trademark to be registered for social services providers and advising in cases of missing children. The registration of Madeleine's trademark was requested on May 18, fifteen days after Madeleine McCann disappeared from her room, at the Ocean Club resort, in Praia da Luz, Algarve.

Rosa

do you have a copy of trademark request etc would be great if you could post a copy on the site. Do you have any idea of the fee to file such a request. There would also be the fees for the professionals who filed it. i just cant get over how soon after the 'abduction' this was filed. Maybe it doesn't cost that much to do, but still it is not what i presume those who donated wanted their money to be spent on.

Laura, five, steps out to support Madeleine’s Fund Empty LAURA FIVE STEPS OUT TO SUPPORT MADELEINE'S FUND

Post by John Twist 13.07.11 15:42

This is a particularly sickening aspect of this sickening cover-up. The expliotation of sincere, but sadly niave and brainwashed by the British Media adults is bad enough. The expliotation of children into donatiing to the fraudulent Find Madeleien Fund is....well what can I say that has not been said before. This episode prompted me to send a copy of 60 Reasons to Charlotte Cox. I enclosed other material for Miss Cox to read including "Missing Madeleine McCann" by Hazel McKinlay, "The McCanns,The Real Couple" by Chris Friend, plus a copy of an e-mail I sent to the Parish Priest in Childwall after the Mass for Madeleine a couple of months ago.
