This sounds more or less the same as the one I received at work (goodness knows where my e-mail address came from) within a week or so of when Madeleine was first reported missing. I'm embarrassed to say that I thought the case was genuine then and forwarded the message to everyone I knew who was likely to go abroad.

the story has been covered worldwide for 4 yrs -what planet are you from?

why would we beleive you? why say that? you mean dont search for M in Portugal? why not? why say this now?

Rosa, that's why I think this has got to be the same as the original e-mail which was going round four years ago. I don't know why it's suddenly reared its ugly head again now.

Just a thought; that pillar of honesty and reliability Jane Tanner is a marketing manager or she was in 2007, maybe her "libel" damages enabled her to give up her job. I wonder if she had any input in the coloboma story which Gerry famously described as a good marketing point.

Thanks for that LMM. I'm almost certain that her occupation was given in the police interviews as a marketing manager. I'm just off out now and haven't time to check it out. She could of course have changed her job - the question now is, did she set up the online shop with 2006 on some of the pages?!

Now that's really wierd ... I've just checked Jane Tanner's rogatory interview in which she does state that she was a Marketing Manager when she lived in Leicestershire.

Everyone has color differences in the iris, but that's something entirely different from a coloboma, and no medical trained person would confuse the 2
