Exclusive: Gonçalo Amaral brings new revelations of the Maddie case
June 25, 2020, 10:28 am
The former inspector of the Judiciary Police (PJ), Gonçalo Amaral, makes new revelations about the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
The former coordinator of the PJ de Portimão, a native of Torredeita (Viseu), analyzes the contradictions of the latest developments in the case and the need for the investigation to continue in the hands of the Portuguese authorities.
The ex-inspector also reveals, first hand, images of what the German suspect Christian Brueckner would be like when he was in Praia da Luz 13 years ago. It was there that Maddie disappeared, prompting one of the longest judicial investigations in years.
You can follow the interview with Gonçalo Amaral from the late afternoon of this Thursday (June 25), on the website of Jornal do Centro. The interview also takes place on Rádio Jornal do Centro, at 4 pm and 10 pm on Thursday and at 11 am on Friday (26th).

When is "concrete" evidence not evidence?
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8461645/Madeleine-McCann-suspect-Christian-Brueckner-not-charged.html
Another pointless article that says nothing sensible.
How can a law enforcement official say there is "concrete evidence" and in the same breath state there is not enough evidence to lay a charge?
Somebody clearly wants to see his name in the papers as often as possible despite having nothing to say

Dr Gonçalo Amaral's interview is at
https://www.jornaldocentro.pt/aquitv/video/70851/espaco-atualidade-com-goncalo-amaral
There are explanatory subtitles which bring out the salient points. and can be fed into google translate.
Suspect looked very different in 2007, long Hippy hair.
Camperwagon was totally different in appearance with cartoon graffiti all over it,
Pedophile in Germany is a scapegoat.
I'll try more later.

Exclusive: Gonçalo Amaral calls for a serious investigation into the Maddie case. Watch the interview
by Writing
June 25, 2020, 7:26 p.m.
Former inspector of the Judiciary Police (PJ), Gonçalo Amaral, calls for a serious investigation into the disappearance of the British Madeleine McCann from foreign authorities.
The former coordinator of the Portimão PJ, who led the investigation into the case when the child disappeared in the Algarve 13 years ago, gave an exclusive interview to Jornal do Centro, where he made new revelations about one of the longest judicial investigations in recent years.
In the interview, Gonçalo Amaral demanded seriousness from the German and English police about the disappearance in Praia da Luz, because of the alleged evidence and clues that are appearing.
“There is a lot of talk and images of a suspect are shown and so on, but we return to the question of whether the investigation is serious. I can't even ask someone to recognize the person through an image of them after a few years . People change. And showing images of a 43-year-old is not the same as showing a 30-year-old, ”he argues.
The former Torredeita (Viseu) natural investigator also considers that the alleged German suspect recently presented by the authorities, Christian Brueckner , is nothing more than a new, almost perfect suspect.
“As the couple [McCann] says that he was a pedophile from the first hour, a pedophile must be found. This is the big question in this matter. The suspect was in the Algarve, another hundred other pedophiles, because there are many pedophiles there. It was not the only case, ”he says. Gonçalo Amaral adds that Christian Brueckner is nothing more than a “scapegoat, because over the years this has happened”.
The former policeman defends the reconstruction of Maddie's disappearance, something that, he says, never happened because of the media pressure at the time the case arose. “There was a lot of confusion at the time. The pressure from the press did not allow us to carry out the reconstitution and that was why we were unable to travel to Praia da Luz ”, he explains.
The ex-inspector also says he is convinced that the PJ has all the necessary and sufficient means to carry out the investigation, which was never concluded. “PJ did an excellent job at the time and continues to commit to the best it has at the professional level. He did his best and I know that he has the capacity to solve the case alone ”, he concludes.

The Sun's interpretation..
PERV PARADISE Madeleine McCann cop says ‘there were hundreds of paedophiles’ in Algarve when Brit toddler vanished
Tariq TahirNatalia Penza
26 Jun 2020,
>> THE prime suspect in Madeleine McCann disappearance was one of “hundreds” of paedophiles in the area at time, a disgraced Portuguese cop has claimed.
>> Goncalo Amaral was removed from the initial probe into disappearance of the toddler in 2008 – a year after she vanished - but has continued to attack on-going investigations.
>> But Amaral has said he was one of “hundreds” of paedophiles in the area at the time three-year-old Madeleine vanished while on holiday with her parents Kate and Gerry.
>> The cop famously named the McCanns as suspects in the case and later claimed in a controversial 2008 book they covered up their daughter’s accidental death in their Algarve apartment.
>> The decision to pursue a paedophile as a suspect in the case was down to the McCanns, Amaral said in an interview with a Portuguese news outlet Jornal do Centro.
>> “Because the McCanns said from the start a paedophile was to blame, a paedophile had to be provided,” he said.
>> “This man was on the Algarve but so were a hundred other paedophiles, because there’s a lot of paedophiles there.”
>> Amaral also used the investigation to take a swipe at the way the case was being handled.

‘IT’S NOT HIM’ Madeleine McCann star witness DOESN’T recognise Christian B as mystery man carrying toddler on night she vanished
Aaron Tinney
26 Jun 2020, 17:39Updated: 26 Jun 2020, 17:39
A KEY Madeleine McCann witness who may have seen the youngster being snatched in her pyjamas does not recognise new chief suspect Christian B.
Former business executive Martin Smith and his family made a statement to cops saying they saw a man carrying a young pyjama-clad girl the night the toddler vanished in 2007.
Christian B is the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCannCredit: Bild
This is the e-fit of a man Martin Smith said he sawCredit: AFP
Martin, his wife and two kids were holidaying in Portugal at the same time as the McCanns and claim they saw a man aged around 35 to 40 with a youngster in pink and white PJs down a quiet street around 150m from the beach near the complex where Maddie was staying.
Irishman Martin, made a statement along with his wife Mary, daughter Aoife and son Peter saying the man they saw was Caucasian and around 5ft 7in to 5ft 9in in height.
He helped compiled an e-fit of the man in 2008 but the image was not made public until 2013.
But when asked if Christian B fitted the man he saw, Martin told the Sunday World: “I cannot add to the statement I gave police six years ago. This all happened 13 years ago.
“I have seen the pictures and coverage this week (of Christian B) but everything I could say I said in my statement to police. I don’t recognise this man.”
Martin added he has not heard from German investigators and officers from the Met had not been touch.
The reported sighting by the Smiths was at around 10pm on May 3, 2007 and was later labelled ‘The Smith Sighting’.
It was less than 300 metres from the resort where the McCanns were staying and the man was heading to the beach 150 metres away.
Martin and family members who were interviewed stated that they went to bar before leaving at around 10pm.
As the group made their way back to their apartment, several noticed a man walking down the middle of the street, Rua 25 de Abril, carrying a girl, about three or four years old.
The child seen had blonde hair, according to descriptions given, and her skin was very fair.
At the time, the family thought little about it, and headed home the following day.
At the time, local officers were focused on another sighting of a man near Kate and Gerry McCann’s holiday apartment .
Martin and his family’s e-fit was compiled by private detectives in September 2008.
In 2012 Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood from the Met said for years the Smiths’ sighting had been seen as “wrong place, wrong time” by investigators and was deemed unimportant.
But now Christin B has been identified as a prime suspect in Maddie’s disappearance, it is likely Martin may be interviewed again by authorities.
It has now emerged Christian B left Portugal days after Madeleine McCann vanished on May 3, 2007, to set up an illegal drugs network.
A European Arrest Warrant revealed he fled back to Germany to sell cannabis bought with cash and gems stolen on the Algarve.
He was known to be driving a vehicle matching the description of his Tiffin Allegro motorhome when Madeleine disappeared.
Christian B is serving time for drugs charges but has applied to be released early after completing two-thirds of his sentence.
He was separately found guilty of raping a 72-year-old American woman in Praia da Luz in 2005 and jailed for seven years but has appealed against the sentence.

No Christian B is not the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Gerry and Kate McCann are the prime suspects in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann - their own daughter.
Nothing has changed.
No Abduction = No abductor. Madeleine McCann was not abducted.

PAEDO'S BULLYING CLAIM Madeleine McCann suspect Christian B whines over being ‘bullied’ in jail

MADELEINE McCann suspect Christian B is whining he is being “bullied” in jail over the case, his lawyer has said.
The convicted rapist and paedophile, 43, who is in Kiel prison for a drugs offence, has been identified by German police as the man responsible for Madeleine’s abduction in 2007.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/11966447/madeleine-mccann-christian-b-victim-bullied-jail/
....................
I thought Christian B, for that is he, had been moved to solitary confinement over fears for his safety a couple of weeks ago.
If you're going to publish Exclusives or even just bog basic reports, for crying out loud be consistent - like get your stories straight.
Maybe 'the source' thought the justice seekers were becoming complacent, drifting away from the collection tin, so in need of a boost to re-energize interest in the case and encourage a resurgence of troll'ery. If so, it's certainly worked - as it has for the past thirteen years.
Team McCann sure know how to pull the plonker.

Former Metropolitan Police Detective Inspector Mike Neville, has 'not' worked on the case - at least not in any official capacity. He is yet another retired UK police officer jumping on the bandwagon like Dave Edgar, Colin Sutton, Mark Williams-Thomas, Jim Gamble ....
Oh and look, he supports the McCanns and condemns the Portuguese police. Who pays the ferryman?

“What kidnap?” Maddie detective gives interview as mainstream warns “investigation could be dropped if missing evidence isn’t found”
By

26th June 2020
Gonçalo Amaral, the detective whose theory on what happened to Madeleine McCann sparked a massive court battle with the missing child’s parents, has finally spoken about the media ‘circus’ involving latest suspect Christian Brueckner.
Almost the minute he did so, Rogério Alves – the Portuguese lawyer representing Kate and Gerry McCann – dismissed his input as ‘fantasy’.
Shortly afterwards reports started churning out the suggestion that ‘the whole investigation could be dropped unless missing evidence isn’t found”.
Said the Sun in another of its ‘exclusives’ on the case: “NO CHARGE Madeleine McCann suspect may NOT be charged admit German prosecutors despite ‘concrete evidence”.
Within the text, the concrete evidence is explained as (little more than) German police being “convinced” of Brueckner’s guilt.
As Amaral has said since the ‘early days’ when he was removed from the investigation for his inconvenient approach, it really is time for a serious probe.
Anyone who has followed this mystery through the ups and down of the last 13 years will recall that many others have called for a serious investigation – from former Metropolitan Police chief Colin Sutton, to the group of ‘armchair detectives’ often dismissed as conspiracy theorists (click here).
Amaral gave his interview to ‘local’ newspaper ‘Jornal do Centro’, following a TV slot last weekend where he suggested German investigators actually ‘released’ questionable images when they trailed their quest for ‘the smoking gun’ that would nail Brueckner to “the deed” (click here).
The Portuguese-registered camper van that Brueckner drove when living in the Algarve back in the early 2000s was not white and yellow, as police images have shown, said Amaral. It was covered in childish graffiti.
The stills of the very different-looking camper were shown to news anchor José Alberto Carvalho and beamed to the television audience.
“Is it that the German authorities came to the conclusion that in 2007 the vehicle was painted white? Who told them that?” Quizzed Amaral.
“Could it be that German or British authorities – because I don’t know who did this, it certainly didn’t come from Portugal – could it be that they released this to try and check information? See if anyone called up to say, ‘I saw that vehicle’ when of course they couldn’t have because the van looked different then..?”
Amaral also questioned the images of Brueckner splashed across the world’s press. They were relatively recent. None showed him as he had been in 2007, and “people change”, said the former detective who has himself changed radically over 13 complicated years.
The bottom line of Amaral’s discourse remains that Brueckner has been chosen as an ‘almost perfect suspect’.
“As the parents said it was a pedophile from the start, a pedophile has had to be found”, he told Carvalho – adding that the only detail that would make Bruecker ‘more perfect’ as a suspect would be “if he was dead”.
Little has been said in the British press about Amaral’s latest comments.
Nothing has been reported on his insistence that the kidnap theory is “the one where the least evidence actually exists”.
Focus in the mainstream now is that despite the media brouhaha, charges may never be brought against Christian Brueckner – for the simple reason that nothing but circumstantial evidence links him to the disappearance from Praia da Luz 13 years ago of Madeleine McCann.
Brueckner’s lawyers meantime are pushing for their client’s release from jail where he has already served ⅔ of a drug sentence.

“What kidnap?” Maddie detective gives interview as mainstream warns “investigation could be dropped if missing evidence isn’t found”

Are we getting anywhere closer to the truth? Could it be that a naked dead body was 'abducted' as she certainly wasn't wearing those pyjamas! = Disposal of same.

Why would it take a media storm/pantomime fest from German Police to declare absolutely nothing.miffy8 wrote:Are we getting anywhere closer to the truth? Could it be that a naked dead body was 'abducted' as she certainly wasn't wearing those pyjamas! = Disposal of same.
Any chance Portugal has in the slim pickings of tourism is now officially fooked as the UK media has declared it a paedo zone.

It would also be easier for a body to disintegrate into the ground that wasn't wearing any clothing. Materials, especially man made ones, can last for years buried under the ground. Many murder victims have been identified by clothing, or parts of the fabric that have survived, they were wearing when their remains have been found.miffy8 wrote:Are we getting anywhere closer to the truth? Verdi, I was talking about how the body may have been disposed of, I know bones, teeth and hair have been identified in graves going back centuries (I'm a big fan of Time Team ) and any other programmes to do with past history, the Romans etc, I can't get enough of them, but I didn't make myself clear, without being too graphic, I was referring to ways bodies may be disposed of, when the bones and teeth may disintegrate but the fabric still survives.Verdi wrote:cookiemuncher wrote:Materials, especially man made ones, can last for years buried under the ground.

Textusa has updated the GA interview transcription post with most of the 'imperceptibles' now having been worked out.

They have also put up a transcription of an interview with Carlos Carmo, former coordinator of the Judiciary Police, from earlier in June, all kindly done by Joana Morais.

The crucial two answers
José Alberto Carvalho: Let me ask you this question Gonçalo Amaral, could Christian Brueckner be the author of… whatever happened to Madeleine McCann or not?
Gonçalo Amaral: To answer that question, it needs first to be demonstrated that there was an abduction. And what I can demonstrate is that all those people who were there lied, there was never any scheme to… monitor the children who were at home, sleeping in the apartments… they went to the apartments to use the WC, this is written in statements they made, they told the receptionist that they were going to the apartment to see their children, they didn’t say they were going to the bathroom because the bathroom by the pool didn’t have great conditions to go there, they simulated a situation of abduction with the window, with the opening of it all... saying that the window was open, it was closed, a big mess...
JAC: First it was closed, then it was open...
GA: Where, where there is only one fingerprint...
JAC: Hmmm, hmmm
GA: …that is from the child's mother… there are no signs of burglary in that apartment, so, there are only 2 ways to get in, one with a false key, which was investigated and we did not reach conclusions that said it could have been used, so in principle it was not and the other entrance through the entrance of the sliding doors where everyone entered, alone. They led us… so, they lied, there were many lies, they led the PJ to… to waste a lot of time and to follow a path that… for example, took us to Robert Murat.

And from the other one. [They CANNOT relax the abduction story. Cannot. Not even for a moment]
CC – Well then, someone that is enthralled about having fun and pays little to no attention to children that they have in the apartment, what might happen then? What can happen is that that person is placing at risk the very life of the child, because the child can be abandoned, without protection. The parents had the duty of care, of watching over those children. That did not happen. Even if it was considered as eventual intent [dolo eventual], not thinking that there was an intention by the parents for something to happen purposefully to the children, - that for me is out of the question - but in reality, if the parents were distracted with diversion, going out several times to check upon the children, the risk of death or of harm to the physical integrity could still occur. That hypothesis was weighed on right at the start. But the truth is, the parents weren’t constituted as arguidos [formal suspects] for this crime, and this crime, in my opinion, is applicable. In my view, the actions of the parents embody that crime, that is foreseen in the Penal Code, in the 138 article and is a serious crime! Since the descendants, my apologies the ascendants, are responsible for the creation of situation of danger, the crime is punishable from two up to five years, and if the child dies, the sentence can go from three up to ten years, it’s a serious crime!
