Shock as expert says Brit cops ‘wasting time’ searching for Maddie – because ‘she’s dead

A TOP criminal profiler has said Brit police searching for Madeleine McCann were “wasting time and money” because “she is dead”.

VANISHED: Maddie disappeared almost 10 years ago
Pat Brown, 62, who runs her own crime agency in the US, said she had analysed the youngster’s 2007 disappearance from her parents’ holiday flat in Portugal.

The author and TV crime analyst said: “Madeleine is dead. There is no point in spending all this money as nothing they do is going to make that child alive.

“It’s my belief the body was moved to a desolate location and will never be found.”

HOPE: Maddie's parents continue to believe she is still alive
Pat Brown wrote:“It’s my belief the body was moved to a desolate location and will never be found”

Ms Brown, who has written a book called Profile Of The Disappearance Of Madeleine McCann, blasted the Met’s £12million six-year investigation.

The Home Office has given the Met an extra £85,000 to continue investigating for at least another six months.

Police revealed the probe was focused on a single “person of interest”, a worker at the McCanns’ Praia da Luz resort.

Ms Brown said: “There are children missing in the UK who aren’t getting this attention.”

Her claims were backed yesterday by criminologist Moita Flores, who was involved in the original police investigation.

He said he had “no doubt” the youngster was dead and felt cash should be used on a reconstruction of the night Madeleine vanished as “it is the only way to resolve the case’’.

Madeleine’s doctor parents Kate, 49, and Gerry, 48, who are facing the 10th anniversary of her disappearance on May 3, continue to believe she is still alive.

‘The only Madeleine McCann theory that stacks up’
MARCH 15, 20175:05PM

A CRIME expert who has analysed the high profile case of missing child Madeleine McCann claims the three-year-old was not abducted.
Investigative Criminal Profiler and Profile of the Disappearance of Madeleine McCann author Pat Brown told news.com.au that Scotland Yard bungled the investigation and slammed the crime fighting agency for “wasting time and money” on Madeleine’s case.
“Madeleine is dead,” Ms Brown said.
“There’s no point spending all of this money as nothing they do is going to make that child alive.”
While profiling the case, Ms Brown developed a theory about what happened to Madeleine.
“When I do a crime scene analysis it is a theory based on evidence to then be given to police and used to look for more proof and evidence suitable for prosecution,” she said.
“When I analysed (Madeleine’s) case, it led me to believe evidence does not support an abduction.
“An abduction was extremely unlikely based on the amount of time, evidence at the scene, and every other shred of evidence there has ever been.”
Ms Brown said Madeleine most likely died an accidental death that was “covered up”.

“The evidence supports the theory of an accident occurring through neglect and possible medication,” she said.
“It’s my belief the body was moved to a desolate location and will never be found.”
Ms Brown’s comments come after British police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann nearly 10 years ago were last week granted STG85,000 ($A136,935) to extend the search for a further six months.
The British Home Office has granted officers the funds to continue the probe until September.
There is one person who was near the area where Madeleine went missing who police want to speak to, the Sunday Express reported.
To date a total of STG11.1 million ($A17.9 million) has been spent looking for Madeleine.
“There are other children missing in the UK who aren't getting this attention that the money should have been spent on,” Ms Brown said.

Madeleine disappeared from the family’s holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in Portugal as her parents Kate and Gerry McCann dined with friends at a nearby restaurant in May 2007. If alive, Madeleine would now be 13 years old.
Ms Brown said Scotland Yard investigators made a mistake by ruling out suspects early on.
“You only eliminate someone as a suspect if they have an alibi and could absolutely not have committed the crime,” she said.
“It shouldn’t be based on theories.”
Ms Brown said the biggest mistake investigators made was examining and reviewing the case working to the theory that Madeleine had been abducted.
“They came in with a purpose and stated there was an abductor,” she said.
“Their focus was on finding a kidnapper.”
Ms Brown said there was “no evidence of an abduction” but that didn’t mean it hadn’t occurred.
“On the other hand it doesn’t mean it did,” she said.
“But because there’s no evidence of an abduction one has to look at other possibilities as well.”

Ms Brown said it was “extremely unlikely” anyone from a child sex ring would have abducted Madeleine. She said children could be illegally bought in some poor areas or “easily taken from drug addicts and prostitutes”.
“Even blonde ones,” she said.
‘They’re not going to steal a British tourist from a holiday resort because they know that will prompt a major investigation into them.”
Kate and Gerry McCann, have always denied any involvement in her death and vowed to “never give up” hope of finding their daughter.
“As a parent of an abducted child, I can tell you that it is the most painful and agonising experience you could ever imagine,” Ms McCann wrote on the couple’s ‘find Madeleine’ website.
“My thoughts of the fear, confusion and loss of love and security that my precious daughter has had to endure are unbearable — crippling.
“And yet I am not the victim, Madeleine is.
“No child should ever have to experience something so terrible.”
Last month, Kate and Gerry McCann lost their appeal in Portugal’s Supreme Court over a controversial book by former detective Goncalo Amaral called The Truth of the Lie.
In it, he claimed Maddie had “died” and her abduction was a “cover-up”.
Amaral led the initial investigation into Madeleine’s apparent abduction.
The McCanns have lodged a formal complaint against the ruling and are reportedly considering taking their case to the European Court of Human Rights.
The parents are bracing themselves for the heart wrenching 10th anniversary of Madeleine’s disappearance in just a few weeks.

Well, that IS a fascinating caption to this picture.

"Having fun...before she vanished".

It looks like a kind of confirmation of precisely what we've been saying here on CMOMM in recent months - namely that - contrary to what the Mccanns have said about this photo - it was taken in Praia da Luz on that 2007 holiday.

In addition, the caption says she is "having fun with blue eyeshadow".

Does she look like she's having fun?

And what about...

the lipstick...

the hair bead...

and the necklace...?

Who applied those?

And why?

Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"

I would say there is nothing that precludes the makeup picture as being taken on that holiday.

I think the hair fits (the strand on the left as we see it that stops at eye level).

Also a bead fad going on.

It's not certain though.

As stomach churning and dreadful as it is to picture. I do strongly believe that's what I'm looking at here.

I remember someone saying the background was the wall of a villa. Was it taken by someone lower down some steps?

I don't think Madeleine put the blue eye shadow on. They look like big fingers wiping across.

I would say she looked tired and disinterested and certainly not enjoying the fun.

"Before she vanished" could mean anything - it could mean weeks/months before she vanished.

It's certainly not after she vanished otherwise some "greedy, unscrupulous person" (to quote Phenomenal McScam) would know where she was and would have collected the reward money.

But, no way is Madeleine having "fun".

I wonder who took this photo, whoever it was they don't appear to be keen on being named.

Why would a newspaper delete  a factual report of someone giving an opinion?

Scared of being sued?

Not toe-ing an agreed editorial line?
Interfering with the process of an ongoing investigation? dontgetit

Why? The only possible reason left for this level of cover up going on for ten years with threats and a whole aura of fear and intimidation surrounding it is one that no one can openly state for fear of threats and intimidation. So I'll leave it there.
