Why was the McCanns marriage reported in the the German press - in particular under the guise of politic?

As far asI can tell it's a photo from Kate's Bewk.
And as for the 'politics' ....well what can we say?? We all know that Politicicians have poked their nebs in this case from Day1.
See the Index in Kate's astonishing bewk * coughconfession* and marvel at the list of 'slebs.

Haven't got the foggiest! I came across it when, for reasons best known to myself, I googled the McCann marriage. If the photo's from KM's book as suggested by The Slave, perhaps the report was from around the time the book was published - it is after all a collage. Can't think what earthly interest KM's book is to the German market but then neither was their European campaign.

Probably nothing but I thought it intriguing to see their wedding photo in the German press tagged to the word 'politik'.

Talking of celebs, I was ferreting about for more information about the German report which led me to the same photo on pamalam's forum, at the same time cam across this..
