Curious as to what these officers do day in day out.
Well over a thousand days gone by already, and i'm struggling to see what they can actually be doing.

How many leads are there to actually be chased up?

What do they do?

It is an excellent question.

They could each do the bleedin obvious and ask Kate McCann a question each... oh wait we need another 10 officers.

What the hell do they do?

What?

How about a bottom up bog standard basic investigation?

Excellent question.

As I understand it, they are wading through reams of evidence gathered by all investigators and following up all leads from these investigations.

This includes the work done by the McCann private investigators such as fraudster Halligen, the discredited Metodo 3, the bogus company Alphaig Ltd. whose PI's were clowning around in Germany and failed to ask even the simplest questions in Barcelona, Antonio Jimnez who was allegedly caught bribing witnesses to claim that they had seen Madeleine in Morocco.

The leads include all those bogus sightings of Madeleine and the numerous suspects that the media claim were hanging around the apartment that week, and for weeks before,  those leads were already investigated by the PJ, until they realised that the private investigators were leading them a dance.

They flew to Portugal to dig up a small patch of land to prove that Madeleine's body was not buried in that area, the media concluded then that she must be alive.

Then we have that brilliant episode of Crimewatch where they located Tannerman complete with the clothing that he and his child was wearing 7 years earlier.

In addition to that, they are keeping two of the suspects informed of their progress.

Oh, and of course, looking busy, whilst posing for media in Portugal.

big grin  How dare anyone question what these officers are doing.

Very good question, the answer to which I think is not a lot!

I think they are breaking their heads about how to formulate the report that > £ 10 mill, 38 officers, how many trips, how many meetings later they have nada.

Plus they also have to justify that the main suspects were not interviewed, and the closest witnesses never returned for a reconstruction.

That will keep them busy during the day and up at night.

What do the 38 officers do each day? Empty 20 contradictions about one alleged incident - the David Payne/Kate McCann encounter, 6.30pm, 3 May

Post by Tony Bennett 10.06.15 8:13

That's just ONE contradiction.

ACACAPA would probably have blown a fuse trying to deal with the TWENTY contradictions between the rival accounts of Dr Kate McCann and Dr David Payne about an alleged visit by him to the McCanns' holiday apartment at around 6.30pm on 3 May 2007.

As this was the last occasion on which Madeleine was allegedly seen by anoyone other than the McCanns, it is of course of prime importance.

Because the obvious conclusion from this set of contradictions was that neither of them was telling the truth - and that in other words ths visit never happened - it simply cannot be used as any kind of evidence that Madeleine was alive at that point.

We then go back to the previous time when Madeleine was allegedly seen by someone outside the family, and that was the alleged 'high tea' with the Madeleine and the twins and Kate and Gerry all together with the creche nanny. As HideHo among others has clearly shown, there are sufficient contradictions about that event to also show that this high tea may never have taken place.

This is where, in the opinion of many, Dr Goncalo Amaral fell into an important error. He believed the creche nanny was telling the truth. And so he believed, as is set out in his book, that Madeleine McCann was alive at 5.30pm to 6pm as stated by the nanny and the McCanns.

Here's a reminder of the 20 Payne/McCann contradictions about that visit that never happened:

CONTRADICTION 1: When Dr Payne first mentioned this visit, he said it took place at 5.00pm. Later he changed this to 6.30pm.

CONTRADICTION 2: Dr Payne first of all said that both Gerry and Kate McCann were there when he visited the apartment. Later he changed this to saying it was just Kate.

CONTRADICTION 3: Dr Payne said that his wife was not with him when he went to see Kate McCann. His wife, Fiona Payne, however, said she did go, got there first, and then her husband joined the two of them at 7.10pm.

CONTRADICTIONS 4 to 9: Why did this alleged visit take place? On various occasions, at least six different reasons have been given:

(1) just ‘for a visit’

(2) to help take Kate and the children down to the recreation area

(3) to ‘check on Kate’ (see if she was all right)

(4) because Kate ‘might need help in looking after all three children’

(5) 'To see if it was OK for Gerry to carry on playing tennis, and

(6) simply because Dr Payne ‘offered to go and see Kate’.

CONTRADICTION 10: Dr Payne says he walked in through the patio door without knocking. Kate McCann said she was in the shower and heard knocking.

CONTRADICTION 11: Dr Payne says Kate McCann was fully dressed. Kate McCann says she hurriedly put a towel around her and went to the door.

CONTRADICTION 12: Dr Payne says he walked in though the patio door. Kate McCann said he never entered, saying: 'he remained at the balcony door’.

CONTRADICTION 13: Dr Payne says we was in the apartment for at least ‘3 to 5 minutes'. Kate McCann says he remained on the balcony and she sent him away after no more than '30 seconds'.

CONTRADICTION 14: Dr Payne says he saw all three children. Kate doesn’t mention this.

CONTRADICTION 15: A newspaper story based on information supplied by ‘a source close to the McCanns’ claimed that Dr Payne ‘saw Kate putting the children to bed’. Neither Dr Payne nor Kate McCann mention this.

CONTRADICTION 16: In early statements, the McCanns said they took their children up to their apartment at 5.40pm, staying there until leaving for dinner at 8.30pm. But Dr Payne and Kate McCann say that Gerry McCann was not there at 6.30pm.

CONTRADICTION 17: Later, Gerry McCann changed his statement to say he was at the tennis courts at 6.30pm.

CONTRADICTION 18: The McCanns initially said that they had decided, as they went up to their apartment, that the children were too tired to stay and watch the tennis, so they would put them to bed, as they had had an exhausting day. Later the story was changed to say that they had decided no such thing and that Dr Payne had gone up to see if Kate McCann was going to bring the children down to watch the tennis match.

CONTRADICTION 19: Gerry McCann initially said that Dr Payne went up to see Kate McCann at about 6.30pm, and that he came back half-an-hour later at 7.00pm. Dr Payne said he only returned to the tennis court once, but Gerry McCann later changed his statement to say that Dr Payne had returned twice, once after seeing Kate, and then again after (allegedly) changing for tennis.

CONTRADICTION 20: In a report by David James Smith in The Times on 16 December 2007, said to be the ‘fullest account yet’ of what happened on the day Madeleine disappeared, Smith said that Gerry McCann at 4.30pm was ‘too injured with an Achilles tendon injury at 4.30pm to carry on playing tennis’. Yet later he claimed he was playing tennis again in a‘social tennis’ competition from 6.00pm to 7.00pm.

It was being discussed here:

They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. Indeed,so unless the t9 are reinterveiwed the whole thing comes accross as a bit pointless.

-------------------------------------

Has there EVER been a 'case', with so many police officers, with 'unlimited' UK taxpayer funding, BASED 'solely, entirely' upon ONLY what the 'missing' person's parents have TOLD them?

The very LAST, 'admitted' on record, 'people' to have 'seen' the 'missing' child?

What do the 38 officers do each day? Empty Re: What do the 38 officers do each day?

Post by PeterMac 10.06.15 17:21

I wonder if they have read and HOLMESed and ANACAPAd Dr Amaral's book,' From the Truth to the Lie"

I was re-reading it today and some passages struck me, yet again, as to why the McCanns are so frightened of it.
A few days later, we welcome Mark Harrison, a specialist in murder, and the search for missing persons and victims of natural disasters. National advisor to the British police, he is well known for his exceptional professional experience. He has already participated in dozens of international criminal investigations.

His work consists of defining new strategies for research. He gets to work immediately, supported by the Portuguese PJ and the investigators from Leicester and Scotland Yard. On his arrival, we place at his disposal details of the case, as well as all our material and human resources. Harrison reads up on the statements and interviews from the principal witnesses - including, of course, those of the parents and friends -, all the analyses, simulations, hypotheses and cross-checking already carried out. He carries out a reconnaissance on the ground, by helicopter and then on foot. He paces the streets and the access roads to Vila da Luz and compares them to the diagrams created in the course of the investigation. Nothing is left to chance: measurement and timing of possible routes between buildings, apartments and restaurants; analyses, with the help of the best specialists, of weather, geological and maritime factors in relation to the investigation; consultation with the best forensic anthropologist in the country, who indicates for us what would be the actual state of the body in the hypothesis of death occurring on May 3rd; study of the region's natural carrion predators. All the research already conducted by hundreds of people - GNR, civil defence, firemen and other volunteers - is re-examined in detail and re-analysed. . .

After a week of intense work, Harrison presents the results of his study to my coordinating group. Even if we were expecting it, his conclusions confirm our worst fears. The most plausible scenario is the following: there is no doubt that Madeleine is dead, and her body is hidden somewhere in the area around Praia da Luz. He praises the quality of the work carried out by the Portuguese authorities in trying to find the little girl alive. According to him, the time has come to redirect the searches in order to find, this time, a body hidden in the surrounding area.

INITIAL CONCLUSIONS

English and Portuguese police get together to analyse the results of Eddie and Keela's searches.
- What we can deduce at this stage is that only the McCanns are implicated. The dogs did not detect blood or cadaver odour other than with them.
- From now on we have the certainty that there was a body behind the sofa before being taken into the parents' bedroom.
- If the blood found behind the sofa is that of the little girl, we can assume that she died there.
- That could explain why the sofa was pushed up against the curtains.
- In Madeleine's bedroom and on her bed, there was no cadaver odour.
- On the other hand, the odour on the soft toy indicates that she was holding it when she died....

Throughout the book Dr Amaral emphasises that it was the British and Portuguese Police acting together, who analysed the available evidence
.
Harrison it was who suggested the Dogs, advised the PJ that there was no point in looking for a living child and so on.

No wonder the McCanns do not want the British public to read it.

What do the 38 officers do each day? Empty The PJ knew from the start

Post by PeterMac 11.06.15 10:54

On May 4th, the parents authorise us to check the phone calls logged on their mobile.
- Here's a copy of the summary of calls.
- I only have that of the couple. We have yet to receive the summary from BTS
- OK, what have we got?
- Do you see what I see?
- Yes, I think so: between April 27th and May 4th, Kate did not make any calls.
Hum...
- None either, between 11.22am and 11.17pm on the night of the disappearance.
- Kate mustn't like making telephone calls...
- For Gerald, there's nothing before May 4th at exactly 12.15am
- What does that mean? They never made phone calls then?
- Wait, there's something here. Look at the number at the top of the list.
- Yes, so?
- On her telephone, her husbands' number is logged: she called him on May 3rd at
11.17pm, but on Gerald's, nothing, no trace of that call!
- How can that be explained?
- It's simple as anything: the list of calls has been deleted.
- Always the same old question: why?

OOOOOOOPPPSSSSS !

Thank you Richard.

It is not clear though (as I read and remember it) if they requested just general help, and the choice to send him was the NPIA's (what I suspect) or that they specifically asked for Mark Harrison.

From the Mark Harrison report:

This report has highlighted the extensive and professional efforts made by the Portuguese authorities regarding the search to locate Madeleine McCann alive.

Hm 't seems the professionals don't agree with the statements of the family, piously repeated by British MSM.
