BALKWELL: A 'seriously flawed' investigation by Essex Police
The 'Daily Mail' has also covered this story today (14 December).
So another major newspaper has covered this story of how Essex Police are struggling to fend off the IPCC's investigation into their actions in the Lee Balkwell case, having already reached the conclusion that the original investigation by Detective Chief Superintendent Graeeme Bull was 'seriously flawed':

A good read: 'Bent Coppers' by Graeme McLagan
Thanks, I hope so, but sometime, if you can, please read Graeme McLagan's book: 'Bent Coppers' to see just how far-reaching corruption is in some of Britain's best-known police forces and how difficult it has proved to eradicate such corruption.aliberte wrote:Tony This is Truly Fascinating. Some of them even write books about their cases before they have been solved.

Some police officers blow the whistle about such corruption and are then victimised

Thank goodness some of them write books to expose such corruption so we can learn more about it.Raffle wrote:Corruption is present in police forces all over the world. Re: Death of Lee Balkwell makes today's 'Observer'
If you are referring to Amaral, there is absolutely no evidence whatsover of corruption in the McCanns case that I know of.
There is evidence of incompetence and a deal of arse-covering, and there are allegations of high-level political interference.
However there is no evidence for the latter, despite much tin-foil hattery of an excitable and scurrilous nature.

It would be fascinating reading - can you name some that you have in mind?

Exposing police corruption in Russia (just for starters)
Yes, try looking at all the honest whistleblowing cops in Russia that are manfully trying to expose the increasing level of police corruption over there:DCB1 wrote:TB: "Thank goodness some of them write books to expose such corruption so we can learn more about it."

Re: Death of Lee Balkwell makes today's 'Observer'
Chicane, that was not 'info' from Butler, as you put it.
Those tweets illustrate that she has now decided upon a new course of action and allegation.
These are the ramblings of an unravelling mind. How anyone could regard them as 'info' I really don't know.

Re: Death of Lee Balkwell makes today's 'Observer'
Morning Baconbutty, think you will find that Chicane has left the building. Reassuring to know that the police appear to be doing nothing about her harassment of Mr Bennett. No-one should have to tolerate this and, imo, the police have let Mr Bennett down badly - as we know, he has made a complaint of harassment against DB and am wondering just how far down the line she allowed to go wtih her campaign of hate against him before the police will take this matter seriously?
