UK online pedophiles too many to prosecute: NCA

Britain will not charge pedophiles that possess child abuse images because of the high volume of people engaging in such activities.

According to the head of the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA), Keith Bristow, it was "not realistic" to prosecute the 50,000 people in Britain who have viewed and shared child abuse images.

"Our responsibility is to focus on the greatest risk and tackle those people," he said.

The British Labour party labeled the NCA’s inactivity as "disgraceful" and said that the NCA was not fit to deal with the problem.

“This is a disgraceful policy from the National Crime Agency and the Home Secretary which sees the vast majority of people downloading vile child abuse images not investigated, while children remain at risk,” said Labour’s Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper.

She went on to say that the NCA has details on tens of thousands of offenders who have accessed images of child abuse, but has only made 600 arrests.

“Of course they need to look first for the most dangerous cases, but it seems most cases aren’t being investigated at all,” she added.

She also said that if the NCA does not have the sufficient resources to investigate all cases, how come “the police arrest more than 220,000 people a year for theft and more than 110,000 for drug offences.”

The NCA is the UK’s lead agency against cyber crime, drug trafficking, economic crime and human trafficking and became fully operational on October 7, 2013.

In September, hundreds of indecent images of school children were found on the computer of a British teacher.

According to the police, nearly 600 secretly taken indecent images of boys aged nine to 12 were found on the computer of Martin Goldberg, the deputy head teacher of a school in Essex, England.

Recent reports show that British schools have witnessed a 40-percent rise in sex-crime reports from 2011 to 2013, with at least 2,865 cases being recorded.

I think Yvette Cooper has made good points in that article. I don't normally agree with anything she has to say but I think she is spot on there.

As Tony pointed out - jail internet questioners for 2 years - do absolutely nothing about people who download this disgusting filth, thus causing great pain and harm to thousands of children.

Britain has gone absolutely crazy I think.

Election next year, as an internet user I will be taking all of this into account when using my vote.

So...what are the NCA planning to do?
Legalise paedophilia, because if you cant beat them, join them?
Perhaps NCA are using this excuse as a way to avoid investigating high level paedophilia?

It is incredulous that tptb are threatening its law abiding citizens with a two year jail term, whilst failing to prosecute the real evil doers of society.
There is no longer a single moral compass for most countries, and to their acute detriment, biblical principals, on which European culture an values have been thrown out as old fashioned and irrelevant for todays times, and replaced with the reasoning of man.
This is the world we have collectively created.

The way I see it, it is a task which will Not be sorted out by the ptb, because they ALL, with perhaps a very few exceptions, seem to be involved, resulting in a cover up of gargantuan proportions.
Any politician with a good set of values will most assuredly not get anywhere in his field, without the necessassary connections, the grooming and funding of big business.
Most of the public still believe the tunnel vision drivel they are "allowed" to believe by the msm, and are no different to the peasants in the days of yore, who went to war under the papal banner, hunting down protestant dissenters and executing whole families, towns and villages in the most cruel manner to the jubilation of the church, all to be later revived, and blamed on Christianity, God and the bible.

Now that the bible, which used to be a cornerstone of European civilization and honour has been by and large thrown out, there is actually no fixed moral compass today, and laws can be changed, even the Roman Dutch one.

It is absolutely disgusting that excuses are being made for the filth that view children being violated.
The Native Americans had it right, that anyone who interfered with children was put to death, as they knew there is no cure for such depravity, and no place in society for it either.

TOO MANY?

I suspect that there are "too many" that are "connected" in some way, this will be used as an excuse not to investigate and prosecute them. I'm sure that we will see a number of small fry thrown under the bus, to keep the scent off the big names. And just how many "connected" names were on the list of 2,000+ that took two years to come to light, after being handed over by the Canadian authorities? Was that list "cleaned up" before it was announced?

A list of 2,000 paedophiles takes two years to come to light, yet a list of alleged "tr*lls" gets into the hands of Sky TV in a matter of days.

There is something very sick going on in the upper reaches of power in this country.
