POLICE are investigating another reported sighting of Madeleine McCann in the Nerja area.
Former prison worker and military man David Fullman (not actual name) spotted a blonde girl speaking Spanish in an English accent at the communal pool at the Tropicana apartment complex in La Herradura and was immediately reminded of Maddie.
After checking the online photo fit he immediately contacted police in the UK.
“A Spanish couple were by the pool with a very Spanish daughter and a blonde, white-skinned girl who looked English and spoke with an English accent,” said Fullman, who was on holiday with his wife at her parents apartment.
“I tried to take a photo but the parents were keeping an eye on me, it was obvious I was watching them so I didn’t want to make a scene or appear to be a pervert.
“She looked like the digital construction, but more like her mother.”
Fullman, currently enrolled in a university degree, added: “I felt like I had to report this, even if it leads to nothing.
Maddie disappeared from her bed in a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal in 2007, while her parents Kate and Gerry ate dinner nearby.
The Olive Press has reported on a string of previous alleged sightings of Maddie in the Axarquia.
British expat Rose Johnson, 70, believes she saw the missing girl playing on Penoncillo beach – between Torrox and Nerja – in the summer of 2011.
While in 2012, Spanish national police investigated a witness’ claim that Maddie had been seen walking in the town accompanied by ‘several people.
Another retired expat, Yvonne Tunnicliffe, claimed to be ‘100% sure’ that she had spotted Maddie at a Mercadona store in Alhaurin el Grande in 2010.

She would of course now be 12 years old, so not quite like your photo ! And we remember that DCI Redwood took the dogs to the area to look for human remains earlier this year. The same dogs that found April Jones and have now found Alice Gross. Interesting that he contacted British Police, rather than local ones who might have been able to do something ! Xenophobia rules, OK ! If David Fullman is not his actual name, why not just leave it out.
Why invent something . . Ah, yes I just remembered - this is about Madeleine.

Well it couldn't have happened this week. Spanish, even Spanish-ish kids have been back at school 3 weeks and anyone enrolled in a UK university degree would be back there as Freshers week has already happened everywhere.

The man's real name could be Clarence Gamble for all people care. Who's going to be arsed if guy uses his real name or not. Why the need to be so secretive?

He'd to check photofit first before calling the Police, what photo fit ? the nine-year progression pic? How does that tally. That is 3 years out.
If he was able to recognise the child instantly why the need to check online photofit?
Either the recognition hits you or it didn't. How can you be sure you saw her and then say you have to check photofit first to be sure you are sure? ...which stupid idiot wrote that? Jon Con of course.

After all this time would anybody really be able to recognise her and be certain that it is indeed her in the unlikely event that she is still alive somewhere? I don't think I would.
Some people will probably believe it though. The same sort of people who thought it could be her at the Benfica match a while ago looking no older than when she vanished.
Still, we were due a sighting soon I suppose.

My opinion is, they've used the professions soldier and prison worker to make it appear more credible. So ex soldier so exactly what relevance is it?
Why use a different name. As people say, why mention one at all.

If I truly thought I'd spotted MBM whilst sat around a pool I'd go straight to reception and relay my thoughts there and request the police asap. I think most people with knowledge of the case would do something similar.

There must be a libel trial looming!

The one thing that sticks out in this article for me is the stating that the girl spoke with an English accent .

If by some miracle this girl was Madeleine which I do not think for one moment when you take into account Eddie and Keela, there is no way a child who disappeared at 3 almost 4 years old and had been living the last 7 years in spain would still have an English accent .

Even adults who move abroad pick up the local accent over time , yes adults may keep an english twang but a child of that age would not . Unless English was being spoken every day in this girls home by someone who was english there is no way that this child would sound to have an english accent .

As for the child looking English not all spaniards are dark skinned and dark haired .

Same goes over here not all english people are fair skinned some are naturally darker skinned . When looking at my own family we have huge differences in appearances my sister has an italian look about her, yet my daughter has a scandanavian look about her . Another family member has a red indian look about them and had the nickname chief for years . All of them are english none are mixed race as we have traced the family tree back to 6 generations though there is the possibility that earlier than this there could have been anscestors from different races however we havent found any yet . That was partly the reason the family tree was traced because we all look so different .

As Madeleine disappeared only 9 days before her fourth birthday then she would not be speaking with an English accent after 7 years surely?! Or are we to believe that she was being cared for by English speaking people and only in recent years passed onto a foreign family? Hardly likely is it!
Besides, in the unlikely scenario that she had been abducted then no one is going to risk parading a child in public who has been kept in the headlines at every opportunity every year since she disappeared. She is too well known all around the world. Had things been quiet for the past 3 or so years then it may be a different matter…lulled into a false sense of security and all that.
But, given that Scotland Yard employed dogs to the wastelands in Praia da Luz then it seems unlikely that she left the holiday apartment alive.

More cruel nonsense. Strange how these “sightings” are never backed up with pictures despite cameras in phones being very simple to use with great discretion. There is always a zoom function too.

What Jon does not seem to 'get' is that he is set up for these sightings just before something else happens. In this case the Sky and Times articles

Seems to be an ongoing thing in this investigation with ex-soldiers and people connected to Prisons springing up all over the place.Not the Scots Guards and Dartmoor again surely?
Given the level of accuracy and journalistic licence shown over the last "ex-military" witness and his whitewashed biography I wonder if the "prison work" involved sewing mail bags.
