A very good article from Pat.

I could understand, if the McCanns are genuinely innocent of any involvement (barring not having enough sense to arrange proper babysitting), that they would live in hope that Madeleine proved to be an exception, but the way Gerry goes on about there being no evidence that she has come to harm, doesn't ring true.

If they truly wanted Maddie to be found - why use an almost two year old image which was heavily altered and did in fact look nothing like Maddie at the time of her disappearance?
They used an image which would ensure that she would never be found. The unique eye defect (which didn't exist) meant they would not need to jet all over the world to check out sightings.

If they truly wanted Madeleine to be found why spend substantial amounts of the donations to the "search" fund on suing Amaral? Why hire dodgy detectives? Also if Brian Kennedy had carried out "due diligence" on them why were the PI's so poor? With the vast amount of money at the McCanns disposal they could have gone for abduction specialists who are surely not that hard to find!

The unique eye defect (which didn't exist) meant they would not need to jet all over the world to check out sightings.

The trouble is they have so muddied the waters that we don't know whether the defect existed or not. Four years ago they plastered images of the eye defect all over the place, including holding up posters themselves, and wearing t-shirts emblazoned with it, and then this year they declared that they never made much of it!

And of course, knowing what someone looked like when they were 2-3 years old isn't going to help when they are 9 or 10.

I think Pat is having quite an impact with her articles and reaching out to people who have not previously realised that there was something quite wrong about the Madeleine case. For example, one of the leading Jersey bloggers has been tweeting that he has only become aware of the antics of the McCann's since Pats article about Cadaver Dogs. Naturally he sees similarities between the treatment dished out to Lenny Harper and Goncalo Amaral. Both smeared and punished for seeking the truth.
