Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but on a number of sites I have seen the statement below and it strikes me as very odd. Who put's their children in pyjamas, then takes them off to bath them, then puts them back on again? Does anyone know if this statement is fact, or fiction. I'm just curious, there are soooooo many inconsistencies and the story is so full of holes I guess one more doesn't make any difference.

The McCanns said the children were in their pyjamas by 6.30pm the night Madeleine disappeared, were bathed at 7.00pm and asleep by 7.30pm.

welcome FH

I'm sure someone will find where that came from to answer your query, maybe one of their statements. If not I will look tomorrow.

Gerry's 4th May Statement
"Yesterday, after their daily routine, Madeleine and the twins went to their bedroom "and were placed in their respective beds and he stresses they were placed together [i.e. in the same bedroom], at about 19.30."

Kate's 4th May Statement
"Yesterday, after the daily routine, Madeleine and the twins went to bed at around 7.30."

Gerry's 10th May Statement
"At 19H00, he made his way to the apartment, finding KATE and the children playing on the sofa. About 10 to 15 minutes later, they took the children to the bedroom and they all sat on MADELEINE'S bed to read a story. At 19H30, the twins were already in their respective cots and MADELEINE in the bed next to the bedroom door. "

Gerry's 7th September Statement
"he says that he was playing tennis at 18:30 when David appeared near the tennis court and asked him if he was going to continue playing. G. said he didn't know because Kate might be needing help to look after the three children, because they intended to bring them to the recreation area after their showers. He thinks that David offered to check if Kate needed help, which he did, and returned minutes later. Regarding his previous statement where he states that David returned half an hour later around 19:00, he says that he returned to the tennis court after half an hour, as this time frame refers to the second time he returned to the tennis court after getting ready for the game."

Why on earth would you take your kids to the play area once they had had a shower and presumably were in their pyjamas? Any parent knows that once you start the bed time routine, you do not want to make your kids hyper and excited, you are getting them ready for sleep, not more play. duh

Found this on the mccanfiles..........

Gerry McCanns timeline for May 3rd...

Gerry himself, in his first interview in May, does not offer any clarity as to his whereabouts during this period, beyond stating that the usual routine was for the children to be bathed before going to play for a while in the playground beside the Tapas bar. They would then be returned to the apartment and prepared for bed.

And wore the very same clothes on their holiday which they wore for work that came into contact with 6 dead bodies...Even cuddle cat went to work and had contact with these 6 dead bodies and then went on holiday to PDL! Only washed when the specially trained dogs detected cavader

yes, the same unforgettable summery trousers that were worn in March/April in UK to go to WORK as a DOCTOR and come into contact with corpses and remembering on the odd occasion to take your daughter's favourite toy with you.

Now, I don't know may doctors but I'm betting that as a doctor you don't see six corpses in a short space of time when you are a part-time locum wearing a pair of summery trousers in the UK climate for March/April. It has to be in that time frame otherwise you wouldn't be wearing them in Jan/Feb.

They really must be the very favourite pair of trousers , are they not pictured in the photograph of MMC blowing out the candles with that red dress ?

I think the cuddle cat knows a lot more than he is letting on.
back to topic, I think there were variations on a routine

bath pjs milk biscuits story bed
bath pjs play outside milk biscuits story bed
bath pjs play outside possibly a change of pjs for 1/2/all 3 depending on who got their pjs dirty outside then milk and biscuits story bed
note not the obvious routine though... a little final play after tea to end their day outside and work off any excess energy in case they had been sitting inactive drawing and painting most of the afternoon at creche. then indoors, bath wind down with milk biscuits story bed
did they wear their outdoor shoes with their pjs then to play outside post bath?
or did they wear slippers. not very safe if climbing and such
just a thought,
no not just any parents at all.
especially lacking in common sense for a pair of doctors
or so they would have us believe
maybe even a second bath if they got dirty playing outside in their pjs
so bath pjs play outside second bath for 1/2/ all 3 then fresh pjs [ maybe why so many taken away for Maddie for one week] milk bicuits story bed

no aplogies for confusion with above routine...confusion is good

I for one could not imagine KMC going to the trouble of bathing the children twice , putting myself in that scenario it would begin with playtime for one !

Have bumped this up as it is one of the things that has niggled at me since I first read it and no I can't remember where that was. Does anyone know where to find it? thanks
