Wonder if he will get an Oscar for best miserable old liar trying to save his dynasty.

Interesting too that yesterday he said News International had made "minor mistakes" and now says "serious wrongdoings oh and Rebekah Brooks is finally gone

Wonder if it is the Edelman effect.

Now he can say, "Look at me. I am clean. It was the others."

I am not quite sure that I buy these "Rebekah Brooks has resigned and the Murdochs are sorry" stories

Rebekah is a close friend of the Murdoch family, like a 5th daughter they said. A few days ago Rebekah was Murdochs priority, it was only when the going got tough that the Murdochs headed for home apparently leaving Rebekah to carry the can. Now Murdoch has apologised (how genuine that apology is no-one knows), and he swears that his business will surrvive and will be back on track soon. There is still a possibility of Murdoch making another bid for BSKYB 6 months down the line.

What is the truth behind all this?

In my opinion, there may be similar traits to that of the McCann case

1. The McCanns arranged to meet up with their 7 friends at a hotel
2. Robert Murat met up with Brian Kennedy
3. Robert Murat takes the blame for Madeleine`s disappearance for a short while
4. Robert Murat is cleared and heavily compensated.

Not that I think that it would have any chance of working, but Could the cunning plan be then, that

1. Rupert Murdoch rushes over to the UK to meet Rebekah Brooks at his Mayfair flat
2. Rebekah agrees to a resignation (for the benefit of the public only)
3. Rebekah carries the can in the UK
4. The Murdochs apologise
5. The Murdochs rescue thier business
6. BSKYB is bought
7. Rebekah is reinstated in the Murdoch empire
