THE PARENTS of Madeleine McCann are overwhelmed by touching online messages of support from around the world as they tomorrow endure the “unwanted” 10thanniversary of their daughter’s disappearance.
Well-wishers are posting on the official Find Maddie Campaign website words of hope and encouragement which Kate and Gerry welcome after being bombarded with a torrent of abuse by cruel trolls.

Referring to Scotland Yard’s crucial new line of inquiry to find Maddie’s kidnapper, Carrie Anne Koldas, echoing the sentiments of others, writes: “Wow sounds like they’ve found something that could really bring some closure and hopefully bring this little girl home.
“We can only hope and pray that the outcome is positive, at least people are fighting to find her and bring justice to whom is involved.”
Kerrie Finnegan Thompson adds: “This is terrific news that there are lines still being followed. Hope, faith, perseverance and some of the best in the world looking for answers.”

Maddie’s parents are tomorrow night due to join villagers, family and friends to remember their daughter a decade on during an informal outdoor gathering beside the war memorial a mile from their home in Rothley, Leics.
On the Facebook page which medical worker Kate, 49, and eminent heart doctor Gerry, 48, endorse upbeat messages are flooding in by the minute.
Fiona Campbell posted: “I keep hoping that one day she will be returned and be back in the arms of her loved ones, amazing family for remaining strong for your little princess.”
Karen McCabe says from across the globe: “You are regularly in our news in New Zealand, which is a good thing as it’s a constant reminder for us to continue looking out for her.”
Ann Lonergan posts: “These poor people, how can the human heart continue to beat with so much anguish inside? Someone, somewhere knows something, I just hope that they come forward soon to reunite this heartbroken, grieving family.”
A pal of the couple said last night: “They are very touched by the messages of hope that are pouring in and the kind, supportive words. It means a lot to them at a particularly poignant time.”
A private jet was reportedly on standby for the couple to race them to Morocco to pick up a girl thought to be the missing youngster.
In a BBC Panorama interview to be screened tomorrow night Kate and Gerry reveal how hurt they’ve been by cruel online abuse in the run up to the milestone anniversary. They beg people to think twice about negative posts for the sake of their 12-year-old twins who use social media.
Gerry says: “I think we’ve seen the worst and best of human nature.” Kate tells how she tries to ignore the horrible comments and focuses on “the goodness of people and the fantastic support we have had over the 10 years.”
She tells interviewer Fiona Bruce of heartless tweets from troll: “It’s shocking and quite hard really to get your head round. Because why would someone write that. Why would somebody in a position of ignorance add to someone’s upset?”
Three-year-old Maddie vanished from a holiday apartment in Portugal’s Praia da Luz in May 2007 while her parents were dining nearby with pals.
Kate describes the “unwanted” 10th anniversary  as “a horrible marker of stolen time” but vows to do “whatever it takes for as long as it takes” to find her daughter. Maddie would now be aged nearly 14.
She said: “My hope for Madeleine being out there is no less than it was almost 10 years ago.”

How long before they get whooshed from the article I wonder?

Oooops!!!

It definitely says 'RIP Sweet Madeleine'.

Looks like it's still a work in progress convincing all the residents of Rothley.

Ten years' anniversary (of what?) tomorrow, with crowds expected to be attending?

Why not come a day or two early and wash the dogs pee off the little memorial, a/o put in another candle while you're at it?

It's all supposed to have something to do with a child, and respect for that child, isn't it?
