Re: Robert Murat on Channel 5 news now 6pm
The usual, much ado about nothing.
Quick summary.
Channel 5 been to PDL to interview Robert Murat, Sandra F, and Carlos Anjos. Each little interview was extremely short, just a few words.
Robert Murat want case resolved, has tried to move on and family has tried, but it is something he is always linked to. He is living under a cloud. Whenever anything new happens, his name is mentioned, so he wants it resolved.
The presenter of the piece said the Portuguese police have little appetitie to keep the search going. The usual about the McCanns being cleared, and that SY have new suspects, the white van, pedo's living in the area, the staff, blah blah.
Carlos Anjos says they will not re-open unless there is new evidence, and the new evidence the British have is meaningless.
Roughly that is what was said........not exact. Whole thing only lasted about 5 mins.

Seems he wants the case resolved for his benefit so he can move on.
Nothing about Maddie being found for her benefit so she can move on.

And Ms F saying that Portugal will never forget. Interestingly she referenced the turning point when the parents were suspected of involvement in their daughter's disappearance
Maybe same old same old
But these reports came from Portugal, seems a reporter was sent over to do the interviews.
Why now?

Yes, that's what I was thinking also.
The new evidence is supposed to be meaningless, so why reports that an investigation, announced by Mrs. Kitten Heels May, will get underway.
I wish somebody in the media would just come out with it all if, of course, they actually know more than the rest of us.

From the Blacksmith topic:
Blacksmith
sheila.edwards Today at 12:52 am
kelvin mckensie was just on tv saying how hard it is these days for the eds to get stories in papers, they sometimes have to go out of uk then back in ! sorry journalists, couldent be doing with that kind of hassel / restrictions
unquote.
That might be it? If it originated elsewhere it can be reported?

and we're off....the twitter McCann fans are praising Sandra F...for stating that the Portuguese people will never forget when the parents came under suspicion. Sandra did not use the word" mistakenly" as far as I recall.........she made no qualification to her statement at all. Simply said the country will not forget it.
Be interesting to watch it again when the video is available.

So why is Carlos Anjos saying that the new evidence the British have is meaningless. Is this an old interview? Surely he`s not talking about the recent suggestions that SY are taking over and CPS now being involved - is he saying what they`ve got is meaningless?

My interpretation of what Sandra F said is that the Portuguese STILL suspect the McCanns of involvement in Maddie's disappearance.
That's hardly surprising.

How would he know what evidence SY have found? I suspect he's just commenting on news reports about the alleged near 200 leads plus the 20 suspects.

Interesting that Robert Murat is featuring a lot lately, the 'Get 'em back to Portugal' story in the Express, now this interview plus all the stories about his drive.

Yes Candyfloss. That's interesting considering he was persona non grata in the early days.
I may be alone in my thinking but I believe Murat is in no way involved in Maddie's disappearance.

I taped the news item and have looked again and feel he is genuine.ShuBob wrote:Yes Candyfloss. That's interesting considering he was persona non grata in the early days.
I may be alone in my thinking but I believe Murat is in no way involved in Maddie's disappearance.
Perhaps his first set of responses covered for his own private dealings which he did not want broadcast or exposed.
If he was trying to develop a deal he would be circumspect about what he told the local police, until it was established.
Why should the McCann's negligence, lies and cheating force him to expose all of his inner thinking: this might have been top of his thoughts.
To my mind, he did not display any shifts or squirms or appearances of covering up a guilty conscience as far as I could see.
He could have been seen by Tapas 9 as a simple, open, soft option and he does look remarkably like David Payne, who, with his alleged finger gestures and nipple rubbing was supposedly at the apartment seeing all three children, was the last person to see Maddie, save Gerry, also part of the finger-ing event, who claims to have been the last.
I agree with Murat, time to get the case solved, and Sandra's comment about the turning point when the McCanns were made suspects is one of the first 'reported' negatives in a very long time, albeit 'sneaked' cleverly and surreptitiously into the interview.

It would be very dangerous for R Murat to say "Get them back to Portugal" if he was involved with the Tapas 9, unless of course it was the Express calling his bluff, but I haven't seen anywhere that he has refuted this statement.
If he is totally innocent it must be an horrendous burden to have hanging over his head. The Tapas friends know Murat has been generously paid by the newspapers as have they have been, so they are most probably more concerned in looking after their own backsides than worrying about Murat.
"Getting them back to Portugal" is the right thing to do, whether it's kicking and screaming, but I can't see that happening; although as I said many moons ago, no doubt the PJ have done their own reconstruction and know full well that it doesn't worrk out as the Tapas 9 would have them believe.

Re: Robert Murat on Channel 5 news now 6pm
Murat was very sensible and seemingly not trying to put the blame on anyone, unlike the last time when he commented in the Express that the Tapas9 should be returned to Portugal. Given what has happened to him since the beginning of the case he was, this time, very reasonable.
Anjos pouring scorn on SYs' position that there are 20 likely suspects. Perhaps SY actually feel the same way? And Sandra's gentle way of saying that the Portuguese suspect the McCanns.

I note a poster on MM has copied my post 'Quick summary' and posted it as their own without any acknowledgment to this forum. I write this to make it clear that I am not this poster and not a member of MM and it should have been stated that the post came from here, which would then be perfectly acceptable.

If he`s the President of the Portuguese Commission for the Protection of Crime Victims and the former head of the Judiciary Police Union, I wouldn`t be surprised if he was in the know about the latest goings on - unless he has no contact with the Porto PJ who are liaising with SY.

when BC panorama the last hope interviewed Anjos he denied that the PJ was doing a review "no I don't believe it" and a few days later the PJ admitted that they were already busy with the review for about one year.
Of course Anjos knew it, imo.
15 DNA marks are enough for the UK. BBesides there are (new)proofs that Maddie was sadated till the last day of her life (hair) according to Amaral.
Who knows there was found more evidence, after the files were archived.
science improves every day.

Chanel 5 went all the way there and got the same old same old...
No development then? None of the interviewees mentioned the CPS....
You have to wonder why they recycle old news, except Murat is the new feature, but essentially he sad nothing of value either.
So it's a total waste of column.

Still not there
Series 2013 - Friday 28 June
http://www.channel5.com/shows/5-news/episodes/episode-128-47
Episode not currently available
Why can’t I find the programme I want to watch?
Unfortunately not all programmes that are broadcast on Channel 5, 5* and 5USA are available on the Demand 5 service. We have to acquire specific on-demand rights to use programmes on the Demand 5 video player. Only programmes that we have these rights to are available.
For some shows, you can only watch programmes for a limited period of time. These are often programmes from overseas or ones involving sports clips or musical performances.
In addition, we may not have the on-demand rights for older programmes, as we would have acquired these before the Demand 5 service was available.
Where we do have rights typically a programme becomes available online at the same time as it is broadcast on TV. However for some programmes, for example live broadcast shows such as Big Brother and The Wright Stuff or Cricket, where play finishes close to broadcast, episodes are available later.
We are adding programmes to the service all the time. So if your favourite show or programme isn't available please don't give up. Keep checking back and hopefully it will become available for you to watch in future.
Makes me ask the question, does the person being interviewed have to give their permission for it to be shown?

I read that on a Mccannfiles article or on Joana Morais, I think McCannfiles.
It was an article where Amaral tells that nowadays it is possible to get DNA out of a hair, without roots.
And they could identifie Madeleine's and also that she used sleeping drugs till the last day of her life.
It is possible that Nigel Moore knows what I mean.
P.S. which mum is not worried?
