Wake up and smell the Starbucks!!!
Piers, if what is being said regarding your ratings is true, that they are dropping, you should be very careful aligning yourself with the McCanns. Public opinion is at an all time low regarding the McCann marketing activities and I suspect that unless you deliver an interview that will be impartial i.e. not sanitised then your ratings may drop further. I've never watched your program on CNN and wonder if you invite questions. If so may I propose to the forum that Mr Bennett be in attendance for the purpose of question delivery (he is the best qualified and presents very well) and that we all chip in to cover his expenses. I've got my £100 contribution at the ready.

I'm inclined to agree.
Could Piers be contacted by Tony to at least propose some questions that should be asked? After all, does Piers actually know what's in the files? I fear not!

Piers Morgan's CNN show ratings crash

Piers Morgan has seen ratings for his new CNN chat show plummet by 75% since its debut two weeks ago.
The Life Stories star only managed to attract 498,000 viewers to Thursday's edition of Piers Morgan Tonight, a substantial drop from the 2.1 million that tuned in to watch him interview Oprah Winfrey on January 17.
Morgan, who probed reality stars Kim and Kourtney Kardashian in the poorly-received instalment, finished behind rival talkshow hosts Sean Hannity and Rachel Maddow, as well as a CNBC supermarket documentary in the 9pm slot.
Upon discovering the disappointing figures, Morgan's long-standing rival Lord Alan Sugar gloated on Twitter: "Piersy is this true..? Piers Morgan beaten by CNBC oh dear! I got more ratings on CNBC when they ran UK version of Apprentice a couple of years ago."
After pointing out that Sugar's popular BBC programme was axed from the US network mid-series due to low viewership, the 45-year-old responded: "Don't you worry about my ratings Lordy, they're ticking along nicely. You worry about your American ratings, which don't exist.
"Hurricane Morgan is blowing stronger by the day... Let me explain again Shugs: my show airs to over 300 million people nightly on CNN America and CNN International."
He concluded: "Right, Biggles, you toddle off in your little plane for a bit - I'm going for breakfast in Beverly Hills."
The Mail On Sunday reports that Morgan's predecessor, the legendary Larry King, was averaging 657,000 viewers during the last three months of 2010.

If Dr Kate McCann is to star on Piers's show-of-the-plummeting-ratings (a bit like Kate's book), then I'll see if I can send him all 163 Questions that Transworld have got.
Prediction: Dr Kate McCann will attempt to answer 13 out of the 163 Questions, but none of them will be satisfactorily answered.

Everywhere I go at the moment, I get asked what I think of the Madeleine McCann story, given my background as a newspaper editor. And the honest answer, given all the claims and counterclaims, is that I have absolutely no idea where the truth lies.
All I would say is that nobody I know says they would ever have left three kids aged under four on their own to go out with their mates at night on holiday. NOBODY.

I know on more occasions he has been very critical of the McCanns "parenting" aptitude. It will be a great test to see if he has the balls to question Kate about that. His show is not doing as well as he hoped plus I would wager a bet that the bidding not only included money but also "forbidden subjects".
If he wins this interview I am afraid he will because he is a coward.

Re: Piers Morgan to seal deal
Surely the McCanns know that Piers has been outspoken about their parenting skills?
In that case, why would they even want to be interviewed by him when they have people like Loraine Kelly and Fiona Phillips who could do a 'better job'?
Maybe Piers really does want to interview them but the McCanns won't agree...
Bit like when they said they'd take a lie detector test then, when they were offered one, they declined
No one saw that one coming did they?

Ah say boy, Piers you listening to me boy, stop gawping and ask those questions...
If as a number of people suspect, the media powers that be (and more importantly the public at large) are not in receipt of reasonable answers to basic questions relating to the McCann case then I think it is our duty to re-ask such questions. Particularly now that the McCann book is going to publication. With this there is the expectation of significant media coverage. Indeed the UK press have reported much wailing and gnashing of teeth between one Amercian chat show giant and new comer Piers Morgan in their fight to interview Kate McCann (unbelieveable as that is). To this end I agree with RBxHN and Mr Bennett regarding the sending of questions to Piers Morgan or Oprah Winfrey, such that they are briefed and can deliver a searching interview that will satisfy the previously inadequately answered questions.
Mr Bennett has worked hard and compiled a series of questions throughout the duration of this case culminating in the most recent and very comprehensive list of 163 questions that has been eluded to by the UK press. Mr Bennett referrs to perhaps 13 questions that Mrs McCann may be prepared to answer albeit not very well. I would be interested to know which ones you think these may be. Notwithstanding this and having viewed the list compiled by Mr Bennett I think the following would be of interest to all...
67. In a BBC TV interview, Dr Kate McCann admitted that she had never spent any time at all physically looking for Madeleine. Why was that?
73. The McCanns said publicly in August 2007: “We will take a lie detector test at any time”. Then a newspaper offered to pay for one. The McCanns then changed their minds and said they wouldn’t take a lie detector test. Why did they change their minds?
74. Months after the McCanns returned to England, in early 2008, they and their friends were asked by Portuguese police to take part in a reconstruction of the events of 3 May 2007. Why did they refuse to take part?
79. Dr Kate McCann, in 2007, said: “I know that what happened is not due to the fact of us leaving the children asleep. I know it happened under other circumstances”. What did she mean by those ‘other circumstances’?
Let's keep it simple for the interviewers, Mrs McCann and the audience. Searching questions hopefully demand credible answers. Anyone got any further suggestions? Also any idea how we get these in front of the talk shows respective producers?

Re: Piers Morgan to seal deal
i would think though that piers morgan [especially as it has been reported that he can get anything out of any body]....would not really agree to this ...spoil his street cred so to speak...
the below is what piers morgan said of the mccs
Piers Morgan attacks the McCann 2008....
"Nobody I know says they would ever have left three kids aged under four on their own to go out with their mates at night on holiday. NOBODY."

Piers Morgan promises to stir things up on CNN
British journalist Piers Morgan, who replaces Larry King, coaxes and cajoles celebs to tell all.
January 17, 2011|By Melissa Maerz, Los Angeles Times
Donald Trump, a good friend of Morgan's and King's, agrees. "Larry King was one of the great interviewers, so you need a great interviewer to replace him, and that's Piers," says Trump, who crowned Morgan the winner of "Celebrity Apprentice" three years ago and will soon appear on "Piers Morgan Tonight." "He's going to be more caustic than Larry. He'll be able to get things out of people that few are able to do."
