Re: Daily express 10.9.17 Kate and Gerry lose Key Advisor
Before the nonsense is whooshed or altered.
Kate and Gerry McCann lose a key adviser
KATE and Gerry McCann are mourning the loss of one of their main supporters as they anxiously wait to see if funding will continue for the Scotland Yard investigation into their daughter Madeleine’s disappearance.
Wealthy Michael Linnett, who died on August 4 aged 75, was the accountant for the Madeleine Fund for 10 years and advised the couple throughout that time.
The fund was set up to return Madeleine to her family and is partly funded by public donations, although it is not a charity.
Mr Linnett resigned from his post on May 3 this year – the 10th anniversary of Madeleine’s disappearance – a few months after the resignation of the fund’s auditors haysmacintyre, a highly regarded firm of accountants and tax advisers based in London.
The two blows mean the couple will have to spend time sorting out the administration of the fund, which has been largely idle since the Yard launched Operation Grange in 2011.
Should the Home Office not sign off the latest application for funding from the Yard, then the couple also face the possibility of using some of the fund’s £715,000 to pay for private detectives.
In one of his last acts for the fund, Mr Linnett signed off the accounts for the company, Madeleine’s Fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned Ltd, for the year ended March 2016. It is believed he resigned on health grounds.
His funeral was held at the Divine Infant of Prague church in Syston, Leicestershire, near Rothley village, where the McCanns live with their twins Sean and Amelie.
Father Clement Orango, who officiated at the service, said: “Mr Linnett was a much loved member of the community and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.”
A friend of the family said: “Michael was a lovely man who gave an awful lot of his time to help others. He was involved with the fund right from the beginning, shortly after Madeleine disappeared, and did a great job.
“He was an extremely good accountant and the McCanns were very lucky to have his support and services for such a long time.”
Mr Linnett lived in the village of Gaddesby, around eight miles from Rothley. In other developments it was reported yesterday that an eight-part documentary on Madeleine’s disappearance is being made by Netflix.
And McCann’s legal battles with former Portuguese detective Amaral may end up at the European Court of Human Rights.
Madeleine vanished on May 3, 2007, on the Algarve during a family holiday in Portugal.

Ah well, that explains Michael Linnett RIP.
As I said of another recent press report, this is clearly a campaign to soften the blow when the Home Office rubber stamp the next phase of Operation Grange.
I venture to suggest it's highly likely that the McCanns already know damn well Operation Grange will continue for the foreseeable future.
It's a game of cat and mouse - only in this case it's Kat and Gerry.

It was a different story when one of Goncalo Amarals' colleagues died from stomach cancer, according to the UK gutter press, the McCanns were delighted. Now they want sympathy. Or, should that be cash?

Well he died deliberately didn't he - just to delay the proceedings. Bah!

"Should the Home Office not sign off the latest application for funding from the Yard, then the couple also face the possibility of using some of the fund’s £715,000 to pay for private detectives."
Erm isn't that what the fund is for.....to search for Madeleine.... so it should not be a case of " face the possibility" ....it should be a given and question how they can hold on to donated monies and use tax payers?

The fund, according to a sauce who told Kandohla, is for buying property and building equipment.

They do that often enough, but confusion is good eh?
Property and building equipment.....what are they making, a future of bricks and mortar instead of syringes and stethoscopes ?
Surprised Ms Kandohla reported what this "source " said, has she now moved on to the truth train?
Surely the Home Office know by funding this "search", Madeleine's money is being banded about on a whim by her parents?

Maybe they need the building equipment for when they dig up Murat's driveway?
Or maybe they're going to build a lair in the lawless hills so they can search for the hellish one?
