Sending a big hug to you Aquila, and Coppernob, Thank you for helping us lucky enough not to have had to deal with this, have a little more insight into such a disturbing and cruel subject. No one who hasn't gone through what you have can have any idea of the impact it has had, and still has, on your life. Hope you have found some peace. Your strength is inspirational xx

latest news is that the 35 years is made up of 29 [of which he must serve at least 2/3,] plus 6 extra years.

The reporter said that finally he is showing remorse because he was shaking just before the judge handed down his sentence.
How is that evidence of remorse rather than self-pity? At his first hearing he told a fan he did not know what the fuss was about and posted huge LOLSs about the case.

Pity he and his spellbound admirers were not locked up for life. Let's hope the tiny ones were so tiny that they have no memory of the depraved things that happened to them. News is now that police in USA and Germany investigating there as Watkins was well-travelled. I hope that there are no more victims.

Thank God for Justice Royce - in the Siddiqi case he upped the prosecution's recommended sentence of 30 years to 40. He'd look good in a black cap and he's unlikely to have any qualms about wearing one.

So, that's Watkins out of action for 20 years with the possibility of further charges which may mean he'll have extradition to the U.S to look forward to where he'll get life without parole.

In the meantime, the creatures that his 2 known victims had the misfortune to be born to will be back on the streets and free to breed again before this century is out of its teens.

There is some confusion about the extra 6 years, some saying he will have to serve at least 2/3 of the 29 years, so 20 approx. plus the 6....others saying he will serve 29 years of the 35 year sentence.

A long time whatever the case and if the women stay inside for the whole term their fertility will be on the wane when they come out.
I don't know how they sleep at night, but then that level of depravity means they probably do.

eta other UK forces inc Bedfordshire involved now as real concerns he was active elsewhere, as for his touring abroad, God alone knows how many victims there were. Stomach-turning stuff and the police will have to answer questions about their lack of urgency over the gruesome reports they received about his behaviour some years ago.
What kind of female becomes so mesmerised by a man that she would hand over a baby to be abused? If there is a hell there are 3 more places reserved, I believe redemption in some cases is a concept I do not believe in.

Watkins must serve two thirds, a tad less than 20 years, of his 29 year sentence before he's eligible for parole.  Presupposing a bunch of the usual wallies decide to let this vile oxygen thief out after, say, 21 years, he'll be released on licence and subject to immediate recall to prison for the following 8 years - after which time no-one will be 'supervising' him.

However, Mr Justice Royce also handed down a 6 year extension to whatever period Watkins is out on licence and it's my understanding that, if released after 21 years, he'll be subect to immediate recall to prison and required to comply with the terms of whatever 'supervison' is put in place for 14 years.

As for the two other inhuman beings who were sentenced to terms of 14 and 17 years imprisonment, they will be eligible for parole after serving 7 and 8.5 years respectively.  In the unlikely event they serve their full sentence, given their current ages they'll have ample time to procreate again... and again... and - you get the picture... thus adding to the taxpayer's burden exponentially.

Aquila and Coppernob, your insightful views are greatly appreciated.

Sometimes there is too much noise around drowning out personal testimonies that should be heard and reflected on in proportion to the guts it has taken to make them. Yours are extremely relevant observations that should not be quickly passed over.  It should also be noted that anonymity does not make such personal testimony any less courageous.

I have heard you both and have respectfully paused to reflect on all the complexities you raise. Thank you both.

My former next door neighbour was a teacher. He took his computer into school because he had problems with avirus. When the tech at school was looking through the computer he 2 files under the title under 15 and 13 as I am sure you can guess it wasn't the cricket team. He pleaded guilty at crown court of having over 300 indecent images of children. He received a slap on the wrist that, which included a treatment order. What a joke he could not understand why my partner and myself would have nothing to do with him. When I said we don't knowingly associate with paedophile. His answer was it was 'only' indecent images. This was after his so called treatment. Like this piece of puke Watkins, he could not see the harm he has caused to the poor girls who were abused for him. These abhorrences of nature should not be polluting the air we breath. They do not accept they have done anything wrong and will always be dangerous men

See my post on the main news forum about Tony Rickwood.

One thing that often baffles me about these cases - Gary Glitter being a prime example - is that to obtain material of this nature involves a degree of computer savvy. In fact I believe anecdotally that IT professionals are disproportionately represented among those involved - so why are so many caught out when they let somebody else root around in their hard drive? Is it some kind of Freudian cry for help or something?

Georgia Williams' killer used the same snuff porn sites as baby rape paedophile Ian Watkins

  • Jamie Reynolds, 23, was given life sentence for killing former head girl
  • Obsessed with snuff movies - in which women are strangled during sex
  • Watkins has been jailed for 35 years for attempting to rape a fan's baby

If the saying children are end products of cultural society and family conditioning stands true, why does having a baptist minister as step-dad makes no difference.

I'm at a lost to the conditioned nature of individuals.

You are right. This is not just the "normal" pictures which pop up from time to time of girls or young women with no clothes on, or a couple boinking
This stuff is hidden in the darkest recesses of the internet, with which, I would hope, all of us are entirely unfamiliar.
In this case GCHQ had to be brought in to break the levels of encryption he had used.

Your description of this morally devoid creature is most apt, Magrat, and I am pleased to report that the piece of puke has been refused leave to appeal against his sentence http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2702846/Paedophile-Lostprophets-singer-Ian-Watkins-loses-bid-appeal-29-year-sentence-judge-rules-shocking-depravity-against-children-warrants-decades-prison.html

As his lawyer has said, his client's crimes are not the worst and until such time as society has zero tolerance for paedophilia and child pornography the lives of many more infants and children will be blighted by those who seek to gratify their repulsive desires at the expense of their victims.

Because they think they have deleted stuff from their drives but it is not permanently deleted. An IT specialist using specialist hardware/software/commands can see all images that have ever been viewed or saved regardless of whether it has previously been put in the trash. It is all still there along with a whole load of information. You'd think they would cotton on to this by now thou especially after Gary Glitters well publiscised visit to PC World.  The only way to sanitise a hard drive is to take a hammer or fire to it. All my own opinion, please don't try it!

And this stands repeating.

Go into Hotmail.
Delete a message.
Then go into the "deleted" folder - and there it is
Now delete it again, until you can't find it any more.
Then go back to the "deleted' folder and  click on "Undelete"
and as if by magic - it is still available

If yo can do that on a desk top computer, imagine what IT specialists can do.

And if you really want to become paranoid, go into the cookies folder and scroll down to see where they are all from.
An awful lot of this stuff downloads in the background.

Bad baby names...

This from a report of a pop star's interview on the Jonathan Ross Show :

(snipped from the Daily Mail online, 7th November 2014)

I felt ill... I've only ever heard the phrase 'Mega Lolz' in relation to Ian Watkins.

Yuk! Agreed miss Beetle. Its sickening how some people worship other human beings. Imo there is a huge crater that's needing to be filled in many peoples lives, so they fill it with the new gods on offer - unworthy slebs
