No - she`s a mathematician - she loves numbers - most mathematicians see the magic of numbers.

She`s therefore based her lecture on it and having a bit of fun - there is nothing sinister about it at all.
We can find correlations in life to all numbers.

In fact 7 occultwise has many positive attributions.

7 is good fun, highest single digit prime, Orders of angels, Deadly Sin, Dwarfs, Seas, Continents, Kings of Rome,
But I prefer 9
2 x 9 = 18   ........   1 + 8 = 9
3 x 9 = 27   ..........   2 + 7 = 9
and so on
Then
11 x 9 = 99,  ........ 9 + 9 = 18
and repeat

24 x 9 = 216  ......... 2 + 1 + 6 =    ?

9 rings of Hell of course
and 9 Tapas . . . .  ! OMG !

You might be right, Woofer, however, as they say, 'many a true word is spoken in jest'.

Christine Lagarde explained to her audience the numerological reckoning by which any number can be reduced to a single number, and gave us in her speech the example of this year, 2014: 2 + 0 + 1 + 4 = 7.

2005 was also a year that numerologically becomes a '7': 2 +0 + 0 + 5 = 7.

Whilst certainly numerologically people often take things to a ridiculous extent, it does seem an almighty coincidence that the bombing of three trains and a bus, killing 52 people, took place on 7 7 2005, and that on the very same day, the powers-that-be had organised a large-scale disaster emergency training day.

In fact 7 occultwise has many positive attributions.

According to the Bible, God created the world in six days, setting aside the seventh for rest. Both the French and Communist revolutionaries tried a 10-day week, but had to revert to a 7-day week, which remains universal.

Also noteworthy:

7 colours of the rainbow

7 notes in a musical scale

7 types of crystal formation (hexagonal, cubic, tetragonal etc.)

And a few examples from the Bible:

Servants to serve for 6 years and be freed in the seventh

Land to lie fallow (year of rest) in the 7th year

Jubilee year in the 50th year (after 7 x 7 = 49)

'Clean' animals into the ark by sevens, not twos

7 years of plenty, 7 years of famine

...and many other significant applications of the number 7

Yes, I`d say 9 is far more `magical.

"No matter what number you use, if you [add its digits together, subtract this from the original number, and then repeatedly add the digits of the resulting numbers], the answer is always 9?

Take the number 3,568 for example:

  • Add those digits together: 3 + 5 + 6 + 8 = 22
  • Subtract 22 from your original number: 3,568 - 22 = 3,546
  • Add those digits together: 3 + 5 + 4 + 6 = 18
  • Add those digits together: 1 + 8 = 9

You come up with 9 no matter what you do.  "
