Paul is Dead (?)
Before tonight, this is one I'd never come across.
I haven't read enough to comment, but if anyone can shed light on this, or give some good/interesting links, please post here.

Re: Paul is Dead (?)
Iirc it came from the Abbey Road album cover where he is not wearing any shoes, which apparently 'meant' he was dead. Quite where the look alike who took his place was supposed to have come from I can't remember.
Just looked on Wiki and there is an article on there.

Praia da Luz and Paul McCartney...
It was only through doing some wider reading on the McCann case that I came across this theory.
I remember there were some good Youtube documentaries on the subject.
Well worth watching is a bizarre rant by Heather Mills on GMTV which then makes sense...
There's also this connection with Praia da Luz -
(picture clipped from above article, I couldn't link it)
I think Plastic Macca blogsite is a good one.
I also highly recommend Gordon Burn's book - Born Yesterday - The News As A Novel - for further McCann case links.
I'd be interested to hear how you get on -
it's all a bit mind-blowing and spooky...

Me neither... but interesting about the Italian Wired magazine article.
I'd not heard of the Moon Landing conspiracy either, before a couple of years ago.
It made me laugh - on another thread I mentioned an old 1969 Zephyr car I had -
I used to pat the steering wheel and smile, thinking that the same technology used to create it...
...had put man on the moon! Vroom vroom, indeed.
That car was a beast when it got going, but prone to embarrassing breakdowns...
So in my convoluted way of thinking, the Moon Landings are debatable...
...but not by me. I'm just glad that the moon has been left in peace since then.
Paul McCartney's still touring...!

Right, I've been reading more.
This is a good place to look

(Thanks, Missbeetle)
I'm surprising myself - thought it was probably all a load of tosh... But NOW I'm starting to really wonder!

Re: Paul is Dead (?)
Well there`s no death registered for a James Paul McCartney in 1966 on the BMD Register. How could they have got around that?
IMO opinion his voice has remained the same.
Lighting makes the perceptions of photos vary.
It`s one conspiracy too far AFAIC.

Willie Campbell.
Nah, I'm not having it.
John, Willie, George, and Ringo just doesn't sound right. (the Fab 3 plus 1).
I always go by what John Lennon said when asked about the rumours at the time. 'Paul McCartney couldn't die without the world knowing it.'
That's good enough for me.

Re: Paul is Dead (?)
Someone wrote "Maybe I'm Amazed" after Paul's death and the whole of the "Band on the Run" album.
Maybe the services of Derek Acorah were employed.

Re: Paul is Dead (?)
I'm old enough to remember this when it first started out in the 1960s.
I was as green as the grass and gullible with a capital G then but even I didn't (and still don't) believe that one.

The "imposter" must have regretted ever agreeing to take over when he got involved with wife number 2, Heather!

He's not dead imo but lied about his age - right now he looks about 120..

Dirk, Stig, Barry, and Nasty.
The Pre-fab Four. Better known as The Rutles.
Dirk McQuigley
Stig O'Hara
Barrington Womble (shortened to Barry Wom)
Ron Nasty
There was even rumours that Dirk McQuigley had died and that the remaining Rutles had left visual clues to this on their famous album, Sergeant Rutters Lonely Darts Club Band ...
... but just like Dirk McQuigley didn't die, Paul McCartney didn't die, either.

Seedy-looking fellow, whoever he is.

Re: Paul is Dead (?)
Well, having looked at more websites, pictures, videos etc, I'm as baffled and sceptical as I was in the beginning!
Some aspects of this 'conspiracy theory' are quite... erm... strange.
Something definitely does seem markedly different between Paul '66 and Paul '67 - personality included. But could the personality change be due to drug use?
Not sure what to make of the changing face shape, though - nose and ears particularly.
I'm not completely convinced, but am keeping an open mind.
Interesting comparisons:
Disclaimer: I've nabbed these from
http://www.sodahead.com/entertainment/paul-mccartney-is-really-dead/question-4356395/?link=ibaf&q=&esrc=s
I haven't attempted to verify the dates or anything and I've no idea who "Denny Laine" is.
