The problem is that as soon as Pam Gurney and her fellow socks know about this, they'll be voting "yes" repeatedly!

Usually when websites run polls like this they have people monitoring for obvious "stacking" of the votes by repeated votes from the same IP address, for instance.

At the time of writing, 262 nays and 13 ayes. If Pam gets wind of it she and her socks will have to go some to level the score.

As there are 3623 members registered on this forum I don't think this poll is saying very much. It seems a waste of time even doing a poll if everyone doesn't participate (a bit like a general election actually. )

Newintown - It is not our poll it is from a media outlet. That is significant in itself IMO.Newintown wrote:ultimaThule wrote:canada12 wrote:No Fate Worse Than De'Ath wrote:The problem is that as soon as Pam Gurney and her fellow socks know about this, they'll be voting "yes" repeatedly!

Hmm..how many of those that voted yes, did so because ultimately this action might prove to be their downfall.

Sabina Mueller: "Sabina Mueller, German radio. How do you deal with the fact that more and more people seem to be pointing the finger at you, and they seem to imply that you might have something to do with it?"
Kate McCann: "To be honest, I don't actually think that is the case. I think that's a very small minority of people that are criticising us."
Kate McCann: "Errm... you know, we are very responsible parents ( i just COULDN'T make 'child care arrangements', for the particular night Madeleine was 'abducted', I did try, to be honest) and we love our children so much and I think it's only a very few people that are actually, errm... criticising us."

probably 39 out of the 43 'no' votes' are the 38 'elite' Maddie Cops + BHH...........
If they are NOT, K&G WILL be sooooooo 'FURIOUS" won't they?

Thanks. It was the bit in brackets that I thought strange when they've never before claimed to have tried to get childcare. Take the brackets out and its classic Mcnonsense. Mind, the quote is from 2007 - it would be interesting to hear Kate's answer to the question today

Encouragement for the McCanns in the latest poll results
There is encouragement for the McCanns as the latest poll count on the Portugal Resident website reveals a shift in their favour.
For the past two days, it has been running at 96% No, 4% Yes, which is a 24-to-1 majority for the 'No' side.
But today reveals a shift.
The latest results are:
NO - 1,125 (95%)
Yes - 54 (5%).
That brings down the proportion voting 'No' over those voting 'Yes' down from 24-1 to 19-1

When I did maths at school,Châtelaine wrote:@Tony
That's 21-1 ;-)
24 x 4 = 96 [so 24 to 1]
and
19 x 5 = 95 [so 19 to 1].
This is what they taught us in England, anyhow.
I can't speak for what they teach in

There's nothing wrong with your maths, Tony. But you use them on the basis of the percentages: No% is round-down and Yes% is round-up. I use them on the basis of the actual figures. You'll see you get to 21-1 too :-)
