Spain has lost its King and its World Cup prospects on the same day.

Ha - no not on that double.

Had a cheeky few quid on Chile to beat Spain last night though.

Spain have been one of the greatest teams ever over the past 8 years or so. Just knew their time had come to an end after being destroyed by the Dutch.

Lets hope England does the business tonight. It's a must win game. No pressure lads.

Definitely a South American team.

Ignoring the usual suspects Brazil and Argentina, I've got £10 each way on Chile at 40/1.

If they reach the final and lose, it's half the odds, so 20/1 for the place. Not too bad.

I am not a gambling and have no clue how to buy it.
When do you have to place the bet before the odds go down ?

So in a nutshell.

Italy need to beat Costa Rica.

Italy then again need to beat Uruguay.

England need to BEAT Costa Rica by probably at least 5 goals.

England will qualify for the knockout stage.

England will then go on and win the World Cup.

Or on the other hand....

Yep, I know nothing about football but now I understand what the likelihood is of England winning!

Just as well I'm of a certain age and can actually remember 1966 - it doesn't look as if it will happen again in my lifetime.

England will NEVER EVER win the World Cup again.

Simply a one off in 66.

Simply not good enough and never will be.

It is a simple question of econmics.
If you stuff the Premier league with "foreign" players in your desperate attempt to win and thereby to make money,
there are then not enough decent English ones from whom to select a squad.

What a nightmare few months for Stevie G...

Messes up for Liverpool against Chelsea and now does it internationally.

Time for new blood.

Come on Roy.. drop Wayne, Welbeck and Stevie G.

Also, Roy needs to drop himself as soon as the plane hits English soil.

If he doesn't then I expect he will be sacked anyway.

Exactly

And then the "Foreign" ones score against England

For those who missed it, the goals against England by Uruguay were scored by Suarez

Went out a little earlier. All the England flags removed from the houses and the cars.

All the stuff bought now redundant. All those over-priced England strips redundant

All those over-priced England players/manager not redundant.

I've been listening to the post-mortem. It's about the catalyst for change now apparently as the mainstay of players won't be around for the next World Cup.

Keep paying Sky to watch football. Keep paying ridiculous amounts of money to watch a home match. Keep hoping you can afford to take your kids to a football match. Keep watching foreign players bought for millions to make up league teams.

England out in the first round.

It's sad.

That question was asked on 10 June.

Today, 20 June, the answer is 'Yes'.

But every cloud has a silver lining.

Spain, the home of Metodo 3,  were knocked out before we were
