Pool pic plants

Post by Shhh on 01.06.14 20:31

S. Portz has an open Facebook account containing photos taken in PDL 2007 (exact date unknown).

I had trouble posting these images so I'll post links, have edited or cropped to hide people's identity.

Compare with the pool pic also attatched.  Look at the flowering in bloom plant on pool pic & compare

Maybe a nice person can post pics for me

Why not have a go at posting the pics Shhhh and saving to drafts to view and edit?  Most people will not click on links just to be on the safe side.

Well it looks the same as far as the chairs and the pool on the inside. The weather seems CDvery opposite but to be in the pool the temp must have been a lil warm?

Where's Auntie Phil?  laughat laughat laughat

The McCann 'relatives' arrived, to search, complete with swimming costumes'

They probably thought Madeleine was playing in the little round swimming pool!

Never noticed the nappies!

What I'm getting at is on forums there was lots of discussion about the flowering tree thing (bourgonia??), don't look to be in bloom in the photos.  Did Stacey arrive the same weekend they did?  That would date the photos as not pre end of AprilApril

Only a small question.   Does anyone know if the land around the pool slopes considerably ?
It may be taken from a different position from 'the last photo' but the stone wall looks a lot higher.
Just wondered.

I am rather disappointed to see what the holidaymakers are wearing rather than the plants. I have for many years questioned that pool picture just on these plants alone as I have many of them, live on the warmer Med rather than the cooler atlantic coast. these plants, to be triggered to flower require drought conditions, sun and heat, then and only then do they flower, Mine started to flower last week and are now a pictures, but we have had drought, heat and sun to trigger.
I thank the member Shhhh for bringing this to the forum.

Unless the second holiday pic was taken during exactly the same week that the McCanns stayed at the Ocean Club, I don't think any comparisons about the plants can be made at all, unfortunately.

We've been here before. There was a video interview on the subject of MM's disappearance made at the resort shortly after it happened and the bougainvillia in the background was clearly not in bloom. Not the same wall though as I recollect.

Just blown up the pool photo and if you look at Gerry's neck the pixels appear to run over onto the collar of the tee shirt...

There's an excellent high-res copy of The Last Photo here:
http://www.gerrymccannsblogs.co.uk/gestalt-3AsTheKTPHorg.jpg
No need to blow the picture up and get blocky pixellation.
Just click on the photo and it will be very large for your inspection. :-)

I'm confused by the nappies  nah  But the plant looks to be Bougainvillea. Being in the rather temperate NW of england I've never grown them but apparently they flower from spring and throughout summer. They peak in June but can flower for most months of the year if warm enough.
