I know that this has been aired on the new members thread, but I feel it is an important area which bears further examination.

Justine McGuinness, who was spokesperson for the McCanns, is alleged to have left documents behind when she returned to the UK when she stopped working for them. The documents were said to contain diagrams and maps of an obscure area and were annotated.

http://truthformadeleine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=626

Mobile phone pings were allegedly linked to this area between 12th-15th May.

If this is true, it suggests that some-one with extensive local knowledge drew up these documents.
So, WHO?
And WHY?

''Maddie Case: Justine McGuinness? TVMais (no online link, appears in paper edition only)

17 December 2008

The day she departed for England, Justine McGuinness told an inspector of the PJ to read the documents that she had forgotten at the McCanns' villa. Kate's relations with Justine were always tense and very suspicious (see box). But Kate did not imagine that Justine would forget some documents on the sofa in the villa where the couple lived in Praia da Luz. A source close to the investigation in those days told tvmais that, at the airport, Justine McGuinness told a PJ inspector to look at the documents that she had left at the McCann's villa.... In the "paperwork" included a detailed location of a place on the border between the Alentejo and Algarve, 20 km from Almodovar, crossed the river by Vascao. It is not easy for those who do not know Portugal to invent a place... What happened there? When and why? Only McGuinness (for now) can tell, but she remains in silence. Until then, you know that, tvmais runs (one more) private research.''

I was going to open up a new topic on rogatory interviews/statements beginning with JM but as this topic is already going it's a good place to start.

Justine McGuinness was spokesperson for the McCanns for only 89 days and it's not crystal clear why she left this position. In this rogatory statement Justine is also vague about dates of her trips to Portugal and by the sound of things wasn't pressed for that info. She also isn't pressed for info on a few other things but clearly remembers the date of her first trip in the Renault.

I've highlighted parts that I find of interest.

Witness Statement

[size=10]CJ Act 1967, s.9; MC Act 1980, ss.5'(3) e 5B; Regular Criminal Process 2005, Decision 27.1

Statement of: Justine McGUINNESS
Age if less than 18:
Occupation: Public Relations Consultant

This statement (consisting of 2 page and signed by me) is true to the best of my knowledge and belief and I make it knowing that, if it is tendered in evidence, I shall be liable to prosecution if I have wilfully stated in it anything I know to be false or do not believe to be true.

Date: 12 May 2008
Signature _________________________________________

I am the person referred to above and I live at the address previously supplied to the Leicestershire police. I was questioned about my association with Gerry and Kate McCann and about my visit to Portugal in the summer of 2007, after the disappearance of their daughter, Madeleine McCann.

I am the owner of a Public Relations Consultancy company. During the end of the month of May, beginning of June I was contacted by recruitment consultants who asked me whether I was interested in working for the campaign to find Madeleine McCann. This occurred after some advice given to Kate and Gerry by Alex Woolfall. Alex Woolfall is the public relations officer for Mark Warner.

I agreed to present my CV for the consideration of Kate and Gerry McCann. A short time later I received a phone call from Gerry who asked me a number of questions by phone. It was almost a mini interview that included questions about me and continued to talk about the kind of support that they were looking for. Later I went for another interview in London. I was interviewed by Gerry McCann, John McCann and Jon Corner. On the same day I agreed to undertake the role which would be to manage the campaign to find Madeleine.

Initially I appeared in an interview with Gerry McCann for Newsnight (BBC news programme) on the same day that I took up my role. Gerry returned to Portugal some days later, I stayed in the UK and attended meetings in the name of the Campaign. I travelled to Portugal on the fiftieth day anniversary of Madeleine's disappearance, Friday the 22nd June 2007. I stayed in an apartment in the Mark Warner complex, very close to where Kate and Gerry were staying. This was the same apartment that they were using as an office.

During my stay I would regularly meet with Gerry and Kate. I also regularly collaborated with the world press. Part of my role was to manage the press communications in the name of Kate, Gerry and Madeleine.

My involvement in the "Find Madeleine" campaign ended on 15 September 2007. During my time as director of the campaign I made several trips to Portugal.

I did not know Kate and Gerry McCann before May 2007. My relationship with them was purely professional and lasted for 89 days.

I do not remember the dates of the trips but as was mentioned previously, there were several trips. I stayed in the apartment mentioned previously, as well as in another apartment in the same block. I also stayed in hotels in the area for short periods of time. I never noticed anything strange about any of the lodgings.

I spent much time with Kate and Gerry but I am unable to quantify exactly how much time. I would meet them at their apartment as well as in the private villa where they were staying.

Kate and Gerry were in a very frustrating situation, at times I could see that they were under great pressure. They managed to cope with the pressure and I credit them with behaving as true professionals would have done in an identical situation. I remember that on certain days Kate was very tearful and sad. I also remember Gerry's frustration upon seeing the presentation of some photos of Madeleine one night.

I travelled as a passenger in the Renault Scenic many times, which was driven by Kate and Gerry and their family members, Sandy Cameron and Michael Wright. I cannot specify the number of times that I travelled in the vehicle.

The first time that I travelled inside the vehicle was when I arrived at Faro on the fiftieth day anniversary. At that time the car smelt exactly like what you would expect after having been cleaned by a rental car company. I never noticed unpleasant odours.

Unfortunately I cannot answer the last question because I was obviously not present from the first day they hired the car, neither during the period of the lease. Because of my knowledge of the routine and the number of members from the press that surrounded them, I think it unlikely that they could have hidden or transported Madeleine in the vehicle.

This statement was made by me and is truthful according to my understanding.

"Because of my knowledge of the routine and the number of members from the press that surrounded them, I think it unlikely that they could have hidden or transported Madeleine in the vehicle."

I find this wording incredibly interesting. She has spent a quite significant amount of time with the McCanns in the early days and her observations state not that she thinks they are incapable of hiding or transporting Madeleine in the vehicle,  but that she thinks  it UNLIKELY  due to the volume of potential witnesses

Hmmmmm... This woman knows more, IMO

Yet another person living in silence about the whole thing.

Why why why does no one speak out, even anonymously on the web ? What is the hold over all these people?

That's what I thought too. This woman is skating around being very careful not to lie IMO

There is no anonymity on the web.

You might think there is but there isn't - they record everything and have clever software that links all kinds of things that fit patterns - names are irrelevant.

You think Governments and Intelligence agencies don't have servers and infrastructure to match Google? (Hell maybe they are Google).

It's all traceable.

Snowdon let that cat out the bag.. although "conspiracy theorists" were saying it well before he said it.

Possibly she is subject to a 'super-inaudible'?

She has already put herself in a possibly awkward situation by her behaviour at the police station when Kate was taken in for questioning,

Yes - this woman knows more - but maybe she just doesn't know enough to say anything concrete. Thats a difficult position to be in .

If you look at the pic in the calpol thread there's a table with a camera and two glasses, I'm near sure I can see a map with a part cut out of it. Could this be it?

Does anyone know if this area was investigated? Was this story about the map ever verified?

Plus, if Justine was interviewed by Gerry McCann in London before she was flew out in June, when was he there?

There may be a simple explanation for this. I was just reading about where missing Karl Kleine Brockhoff's body was found.

The body is described as '3km from Alcoutim' when found, and he had been making a 7km journey to Alcoutim from Casa Branca.  Brockhoff was found at the bottom of a ravine after weather had pushed his body down.

The maps supposedly left by Justine were of an area just 7km North of Alcoutim, where the river and area had been searched. The body was discovered a month after the family had left, so at the time they were possibly just examining search methods for future reference.

Doing this themselves would explain the lack of professional touch (hence seeming incomprehensible).

Also important to note what Amaral said about the claim;

"There were only a few papers about a group with links to esoteric things... Nothing important for research"

Just seen the tweet below on Twitter. Which prompted me to look up Justine McGuinness.
I've provided a link to her Linkedin profile. I've looked and looked, but I can't see where she has included that she worked for the McCanns in 2007?

@McCannCaseTweet

Are McCanns PR Reps LIARS too? Or is Kate #McCann the LIAR? Not knowing PT would release Questions McGuiness tells press FIB.. SURPRISE!

@worriedmum,

Perhaps she doesn't want to be associated with the McCann fiasco?

big grin Indeed, but I do think that Ms McGuinness is no longer a "friendly source' for the McCann's
