Re: Sunday Express-Madeleine aged 8 as US experts see her
If Madeleine was alive, which unfortunately is very unlikely, she would be 9 in a few weeks time. Why would they want to portray what a missing child looked like last year, rather than what she would look like this year? Ridiculous.

I think thats nitpicking. Perhaps they mean 8 going on 9. I think an image which updates what people have in their minds from the images of a three year old is helpful even if its a month or two out.

Seeing this age progressed picture by experts and comparing what I see to how Billy Sousa described the girl he saw in the Star article........

Is there some reason that she has the wrinkles of a thirty year old? What is the *holiday bargain bonanza*?

Cheap holidays because quite a lot of people aren't going anywhere this year.
Don't know which learner-driver has done this age progression, but her jawline is of somebody who's beginning to lose elasticity in the skin - late thirties.
They've faithfully put the non existent coloboma in and the different colours of her eyes are not clear.
She did have a mark on her right calf I think but that is never mentioned.
The face isn't very childlike - they should have checked Kate's photos at that age.

THE NEW FACE OF MISSING MADELEINE MCCANN
ABOVE: Experts believe this could be the face of Madeleine McCann today Using forensic age-progression techniques also employed by the FBI, they believe Maddie would by now have lost the wide-eyed, chubby- cheeked appearance she had when she vanished
22nd April 2012 By Daily Star reporter
SHE looks like any other little girl coming up to her ninth birthday.
But experts believe this could be the face of Madeleine McCann today.
Almost five years since she went missing, this image has been created by a crack computer team that helps police forces across the United States try to find long-term kidnap victims and other missing people.
Using forensic age-progression techniques also employed by the FBI, they believe Maddie would by now have lost the wide-eyed, chubby- cheeked appearance she had when she vanished without trace, aged just three, in May 2007.
Police are expected to release their own age-progressed image of Maddie this week as they renew attempts to solve the case.
Madeleine was snatched from a holiday apartment in the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz while her parents Kate, 44, and Gerry, 43, of Rothley, Leics, dined with friends in a nearby tapas bar.
Sorry I dont know how to capture screen shot. Maybe admin can open up the link and post up the pic.
This age-progressed 9-year old Maddie (done using age-progession techniques used also by FBI) looks completely different from every photo ever put out in the public domain of a nearly 4-year old Maddie. This pic looks nothing at all like her when she was three.
This pic depicts a darker haired girl (darker as a whole) who is now angular instead of chubby, and is beyond recognition from her old self. . In fact it is an "old" 9-year old they came up with.
So if the 18-year old billy bob souza saw a "spitting image of Maddie in Negra" the girl he saw couldnt have been Maddie because this age progressed Maddie wont look out of place with a middle eastern or mediterranean family imo.
There is no way anyone can take any sighting seriously when sighters claimed they saw a girl the "spitting image" of a 3-year Maddie!
Two things are strange to me:
The Yard going on TV to discuss an ongoing review.
Kate doing a bewk, an epilogue to her old one that takes in Yard review.
Firstly how can there an an "epilogue" when the review is not over and no outcome yet?
Secondly is the Yard trying to stop her 2nd bewk, or given her material for inclusion in her bewk when they did this interview?
Not sure whether to be persismistic or optimistic about the interview - I guess we'll have to wait and see whether this is going to be a whitewash. Personally I doubt it, but why the interim report (via the interview) meanwhile?

Yeap, I agree the pic looks nothing like Maddie at all, not even an older Maddie. It looks like a different child altogether.

Some good shots in that link of mccanns at the recent Football match between Liverpool and Everton and of course Maddie's pics.
Maybe admin could place the pic of Maddie in Everton's jersey against the "dailymail" age-progression pic for comparasion purpose.
The difference is stunningly shocking.

Re: Sunday Express-Madeleine aged 8 as US experts see her
IF she were out there then the chances of her being recognised based on this are so vanishingly small to be pointless talking of sightings - even if you were to give credence to an abduction scenario. Who is going to be able to hold this image in their mind over the other many and various images? The only identifier now would surely be the coloboma which has now been all but dismissed by the mccanns.
Also agree we have an odd cluster of activity at the moment on media front.

Epilogue - a short speech recited at the end of a play - conclusion of a literary work (Collins Dictionary).
I thought it was a strange word to use for Kate. Imo this may be part of an arrangement:
The Fund's charter has changed considerably and I understand can be legally used for pretty well anything they like.
The publishers Transworld may be of the opinion that book nr. 1 didn't do as well as expected, book nr 2 is not likely to be an option.
The epilogue may mean just that - a final moan fest and thanking the SY for all they're doing for them.
Some time after that the SY review will be inconclusive but lean towards Maddie being dead. Case shelved with a promise should anything come up etc.
Instead of one big revelation, we're going to get it dripfed through the media.
The only comfort I can find in this scenario is that the mcCanns live in a hell of their own making. They should have been very rich, very powerful people by now. Fronting Ambert Alert Europe, standing for parliament even, MP who nearly was professional footballer. Kate should have been asked on TV shows on just about anything. Voted as most and best in whatever.
I think this was all about GB to stop him going for the IMF job. It worked, but even when shelved, it will still be a useful weapon in e.g. the next elections.
This was and perhaps still is as GB said 'a matter of national security'.
To be fair, it would be very difficult to get an outcome in a court case, other than child neglect. But an awful lot of names are on the files and I'm sure, are being watched.
I hope that the epilogue will be in truth the 'end of the play'. The bliss! Never to hear from them again.
But there's still the court cases - are they going to be mentioned? I doubt it.

She looks more like the Queen in the picture above.
Re: Sunday Express-Madeleine aged 8 as US experts see her
It would be callous on DC part to use the mccanns case just to stop GB from achieving his ambition (if it is just that)!
I have no doubt DC and GB don't see eye to eye and they may have bones to pick about each other, but doubt DC would go to that length of wasting taxpayers money for his own agenda.
A serving officer coming on TV to talk about ongoing review of an "exceptional" and "high profile" case indeed seems odd, but maybe there's a method to their strategy.
There's just no easy way for the Yard to progress with the process without the press and media going into overdrive if they were about engage in interactive action with witnesses, so maybe it's an inevitable step that Andy Redwood is taking.
Maybe he's about to announce that the Police need to re-interview "mccanns and friends" to clarify matters to further progress the review.
Maybe he's setting the way to break the shock of 're-interview' for obvious reasons - 1) mccanns and friends cannot possibly refuse and not look foolishly suspicious since it's widely known the mccanns pushed for this review, and had said publicly they are pleased and grateful for what the Yard is doing and will cooperate fully; and 2) to prevent the tabloid going to unnecessary speculation frenzy when the T7 are eventually (soon) called up to appear in Police stations.
Maybe he's making an announcement that T7 + 2, and some will be re-interviewed, at the same time cautioning the press about coverage of the re-interview.
Can't see if any other way TBH.
Discussing the case is a BIG no no while the case is ongoing.
It has to be something important and inevitable that is about to happen and that they deemed must be done in order to move the review along.
It's reported the Yard hope to conclude the review before this year is out, so maybe they've come to a stage where re-interview and reconstruction are necessary next steps, hence the warning-announcement to break the shock of the "breaking news" when the press and media cover the re-interview.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
So much has been written in the past few days with regard to Mr Redwoods appearance, I have found it hard to stay positive. It was refreshing to read your post this morning and for the next week I shall return to read it to keep myself motivated.
I am hoping his "appearance" will be a short one and contain nothing more than a one or two line official statement on how the collaboration with the PJ is working, followed by more of the same McCann spin we have become used to. This I can cope with.
Until such time as I officially hear and see it written in black and white that the abduction theory is being upheld by SY, then I have to believe that people are ultimately good and honest and regardless of the forces at work in this instance, they will not loose sight of the fact that there is a little girl who deserved a lot more in her short lived life and most certainly deserves a lot more now.
Only they can help her, a big responsibility and finding justice for her might not be the easiest road for them to take but if nobody in a position of power is willing to put their knecks on the line for this little girl, then it is time for us all to turn off the lights and leave this planet.

The sentence I like is "She would look more like the teenager she would soon become than the little girl who was so cruelly taken from her parents".
Clearly written by someone who believes in fairy tales (the last bit) and I would hardly call a nearly 9 year old a soon to be teenager!

A thankyou from me too I am thinking and hoping that Andy Redwood's appearance will be similar to any announcement made to the media in any ongoing investigation that we see on the television. An update as far as he can go and maybe a request for some specific information from other holiday makers of April/May 2007. If he uses the term abduction though I shall

Wasn't the photo of a dark-skinned Madeleine believed by some people to be a photo of the (imaginary) girl in the Leh sighting? I must admit to wondering if it was created specifically for that purpose.
