I see Blacksmith has already devoted one of his blogs [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to all the things in the transcript he believes are incorrect. I guess the first one is because the McCanns didn't actually have a balcony, but I haven't had a chance to read the rest.

As much as I enjoy his writing his level of esoterica at times leaves me secretly wanting to scream!

After reading that, a whitewash would be impossible. I am surprised that David Payne has never challenged the allegations made against him, nor indeed Gerry who was also implicated in the Gaspar statements.
A few new revelations there, for me at least. I did not know that Mrs Fenn saw DP on the McCanns' balcony at 7.00pm. Nor had I picked up on the fact that Mrs Fenn first heard a commotion at 10.30pm. - half an hour after Kate had raised the alarm. Now I am wondering if that 10pm alarm by Kate is set in stone - or at least confirmed by anyone outside of the tapas group.
So much of interest in there, a good read and thank you so much to the translators.

Where did mrs Fenn mention 9.30? And yes there was One waiter who mentioned an earlier time, but the others did not. I'd go by her version, she was at home and watching the tv. The waiters were busy working to be looking at the time.

seek truth i was basing my response on notlongnows remark of Mrs fenn getting the time wrong so I stand corrected on that one.
IMO the conmotion did start at 9.30 though,there was yet another independent witness who heard the name Madeleine being called out at this time.
And as for waiter being too busy to check the time as most in restaurant business will tell you when it is nearing the end of a shift waiters and chefs in particular start clock watching.
