How fortunate a photographer was present at the very moment when it was possible to capture KH lavishing a loving smile at het husband!

Just imagine this photographer not being there, at that moment, at that precise spot

Or: Kate not smiling at that time

What we would have missed then!

From a PR perspective, I think the 'smiling' photos are actually counterproductive.

Has never sat right (and never will) with anyone with a degree of skepticism in the case. Be it fully signed up skeptic to someone with a fleeting interest.

I agree but I would extend it to "How very fortunate that kick-off was delayed by ten minutes". Bear in mind the reason cited was "congestion" yet the crowd was 20% down on a normal Saturday home game.

If (and I stress it's a big if) they can pull those sort of strings then no wonder she was grinning from ear to ear.

I didn't think Redknapp looked delighted to be shaking hands with GM. A very penetrating look he gave him and no hint of a smile. A tense face. What was all that about? Why was he even in the opposition box? See Kenwright's supportive hand on the shoulder of GM as he goes to shake Harry's hand. See Jenny Seagrove's rather glacial, straight ahead stare.

I know there was the 10 minute delay for traffic hold ups. But why on earth would Redknapp think, "Right, 10 mins to kill. Let's get on over there and glad hand the McCanns" Who would be likely to have approached him to do so? Kenwright? Did he have any warning? Thinking time? Was he put on the spot? Did he have a only a few moments to consider a refusal would offend - might backfire publicity-wise on him. Was he caught on the hop without the advice of an agent or similar? All these questions about the run-up to the image in the papers intrigue me

Redknapp is nobody's fool. He is not particularly sociable. He has had his own court travails. He must know the pair are controversial. So what reason can there be? The picture is ambiguous. It can be read as supporting the Missing People appeal. It can be read as supporting the controversial McCs. It can be read as supporting both. It can also be read as reluctant.

Is there any precedent for these photo opportunities with managers before football appeals? Is there any precedent for such an appeal anyway? Come to think of it, I have never seen or heard what form the appeal took at the match - only these publicity pictures of the Mcs mingling with celebrities .... A-gain.

It's not the first time that a photographer has been positioned at the exact spot and time required.

Take this one of boxes being carried away from the offices of Metodo 3 by Scotland Yard:

My hypothesis: This was taken by a Scotland Yard photographer, or, if not, was arranged by Scotland Yard.

Why?

To get photos in the British press which said: "Look, we really are doing something! Just see this photo - and look how thorough our investigation is!"
